    • With all due respect...I was like why doesn't Nate just run back to his house or his Mom's house for a leash. You want real legend status...how about Greg Noll surfing big Waimea back in the day with no leash. The dude hanging on to his board in the giant white water, so he doesn't have a long swim to retrieve it. Thats legit.

    • @@charlesmartin1121 wow you’re a hard ass bro, it’s still bad ass, who cares he is a savage let him live, don’t try and one up him when you don’t even surf this stuff, just speak on other people surfing it

    • @@mgray4254 How do you know what I surf? And I wasn't trying to one up him, I was just curious why he didn't just run back to his house, his mom's house or the Vans House to get another leash? Further what would have happened had he lost his board at first reef Pipeline? It's not a long swim into the beach. Thats why I contrasted it with losing a board surfing giant Waimea.

  • As an adult learning to surf, I love being able to see the aspects of surfing that I think are the hardest for me: the paddle out, wave selection, and most of all, paddling with a enough speed to actually catch the wave. For me one of the great ironies of surfing is that once you've caught the wave and have stood up, to me it's actually the easiest part. I love surfing now, even though it's so hard for me to catch waves. I can't imagine how fun it would be if I could do it consistently.
