5 Years later, I'm still returning to this because of how perfect this was made. This is 1000000x better than what we got on the big screen from Sony.
It's perfect. So much better. Crazy how much of a gem this is.
There was a lot of retcons in that movie just to make references to the game. And then frickin Mark Walberg played Mark Walberg. And Tom Holland... well he tried
Me too. Nathan Fillian would have been perfect for that character.
literally this
This 15 minute short movie is 10 times better than the 2 hour movie with Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.
Ikr?
Absolutely! No 10 times better.. Or rather; a 1000 times better.. The official film is an insult to good taste, the essence of games and Nate's overwhelming charisma. Once again Hollywood proved that money is not synonymous with good product. This short fan is an entertainment marvel. Thank you guys for giving us this JEWEL in capital letters, Thanks 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Make it a million times better
It actually makes me super sad that this isn't an official 2 hour uncharted movie. Like really sad.
Why didn't sony make this a full movie?! I would have thoroughly enjoyed it!
You did better than a billion dollar company. Well done to all of you
Movies not even out yet but ok
The Sony movie legit looks like a cash grab prequel to this.
I mean they legit had NATHAN FILLION, he is a phenomenal actor and very underrated.
@@SD_188 what do you expect from sony except the animated films?
@@SD_188 Movie is out now and he was right. This was leagues better. Someone said the same thing to me back when they announced Metal Gear Survive. I knew it was going to be garbage and said so before release and got shit for judging it before it came out. Any real fan of something can tell when something is made with no thought or respect given to the original work. Sony thought they could cash in on Holland's huge success with the marvel films but he's just too young. It doesn't help that they Frankenstein'd the plots from the games into some weird amalgamation that just didn't work. There is so much to pull inspiration from in history for treasure-based adventure plots, but they chose to rip off the games AND this short instead of telling a unique story. What makes Uncharted is the wit, humor, and characters. Not the plot from the games. They didn't need to do what they did. If they had captured the essence of the dialogue style and characters, the actual treasure plot wouldn't have mattered all too much. Sony screwed up their casting. BIG time. And the writing was nothing like the games. The story was a cheap imitation of everything Uncharted, and even the music wasn't great. The dialogue was terrible, the jokes were awful (a few got some chuckles, but most of the humor fell flat), and the only decent qualities were the set pieces. But considering Uncharted set pieces are so iconic, I'd say it's a low bar to nail those when you have the kind of budget Sony is backing. Overall, the movie was terrible, and the guy was right. And not just in hindsight. He and nearly all other fans KNEW the Sony film was going to be awful.
This guy literally is Nathan Drake. How did Sony not see this and decide to go with Tom Holland and a younger version?
Hopefully Tom Holland is only playing young Drake and the sequel we get this guy
The media likes to push actors and actresses that are popular. People like Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet and (not now but at the time) Jennifer Lawrence.
Because Tom Holland is popular due to Spider-Man. The Spider-Man movies and the Uncharted movie is under Sony, so it works out for them. Similarly how there's a "Disney family" where actors/actresses in a Marvel movie will sometimes show up in a Disney movie. For example, Robert Downey Jr is Tony Stark/Iron Man in Marvel movies, and he was in Dolittle. Tom Holland is in Spider-Man (Sony), Marvel movies (Civil War, Infinity War, etc) and Onward (Disney).
because the dude is way too old to make it seem any bit realistic

Right! Perfect casting and writing. With a bigger budget they'd make the PERFECT uncharted movie.
@ickisistheshitz Can´t Nathan Fillion be a fan of the series as well? There would be no reason for him to do this, otherwise.
@ickisistheshitz Fan made doesn't mean amateur, it means made by fan. This didn't air anywhere but the internet I don't think. Anyways, Fillion is the perfect (old) Nathan Drake.
@ickisistheshitz "Fan-Made" doesn't mean Amateur. It could be made by some Big Studio and it still would be "Fan Made". "Fan-Made" also doesn't mean they don't get paid. Also "Amateur" doesn't mean they don't get paid either. "Fan Made" means just that it wasn't done by the Official Studio that owns the Rights to the Title/Characters/Projects (in this situation - it wasn't done by SONY, so it's "Fan-Made") In fact, most of the Fan-Films and Fan-Series have actors that are well paid for their role in these Projects. Amateur means that it wasn't done by a Proffesionalist that's been doing it for Years and has a Background of known titles (for example Jon Favreau is a Proffesionalist). For example: "Hazbin Hotel". The Authoress hired actual Voice Actors (like Stamper) and other Animators/Artists to help her with the Project. They are normally paid for their work.
@ickisistheshitz I think Nathan Fillion put money into the project, I read in an article that the director is from Toronto and they teamed up to make this. Also Fillion has expressed that he would love to play Drake in a film so that makes him a fan

A little awkward for a movie, but as a one off nod towards the gamers I guess it could be fine. As a demo/pilot this was ok I guess, hope they get the funding and go-ahead for a movie or a tv show.
It is a weird thing to watch for ordinary viewers but we as gamers would like to see it. :P
The only Uncharted film I recognize.
When you have the love and passion for your product. Perfections like these are produced.
Who's here after watching the Sony Uncharted trailer to appreciate a better version we'll never get?
me for one nothing the big budget movie has will come close to this the casting (the villains omg, they are perfect too), the respect, the usage of elements from the games, it's all there in these 14 minutes
Me. Garbage casting Sony. Should be ashamed.
Tom Holland is supposed to be a young Nathan Drake, i think there is a possibility we get this actor on the next movies
Me. I need Fillion in the actual movie and sully shouldn't be goddamn Wahlberg
Me, me, me!!
Oh god, Nathan Fillion's laugh, his facial movements and way of talking is just like Drake. Just fuckin cast him Sony. Tom Holland can be young Drake.
Thats how it started it. He was supposed to be young Drake but production change later after taking so long.

Holland canot be even young Drake… he is lame
I think that’s the whole point… They Had Nathan Fillion do the motion capture for Nathan Drake and then Nolan North did the voice
Also you’ll notice Nolan North looks nothing like Nathan Drake but Nathan Fillion does
Would still like to see this as a Netflix or amazon series. Great cast choices
i came here after recently play uncharted game series.. Nathan Fillion is Nathan Drake..
This really does capture the vibe and the casting is so much better. Doesn't matter if Fillion is older, just pretend it's Uncharted 5 lol.
Actually, according to the games timeline Holland will be playing a 14ish year old nate... this is going off of the fact that they picked Mark for sully tho. Cause the only time we've seen sully that young was when nate was 14 For context, it is proven the movie is set before the games. The rest is me talking about ages because the only time in game that we've seen sully that young was when nate was 14. It isn't confirmed fact nor did I say it was.
@@solidunicrn6549 theirs a trailer out right now, what you said it not true.
Yeah I just see this as an older Nathan & etc, Uncharted
If they can keep making harrison ford indiana jones at his age and clint Eastwood a cowboy still. Hollywood should have no problem making Fillion nathan drake
@@RINZLER2010 nailed it
Nathan did his homework. 👏🏻 The mannerisms, sarcasm, his “charm”, the movements and the “Oh Crap” was spot on. I wish this was longer.
When he said “just like old times” during that camera transition, I was like “HIRE him”!
I believe that he actually is a fan of the games. He and Allan Ungar produced this short film together.
@@God_Is_An_Atheist Don't forget, Nathan was Nathan Drake in the games too.
@@omarcogle1965 what are you talking about? Nolan North played Nathan Drake in the games.
@@TheRavenCoder I think it was Uncharted 4 that Nathan Fillion voiced Nathan Drake, but was it Nolan North?
Nathan Fillion is so freaking cool.
i remember when this first dropped , the internet collectively lost its shit , 5 years later and that hasn't changed. i still geek so hard at this , fillian is perfect! this also made me revisit the nathan drake collection back in april of this year, got all 3 plats! such amazing games❤
the casting here is quite literally perfect
It was close.. Fillion IS Drake!! The Sully was pretty decent. Elaine, I think they coulda kept looking.
@@danross7149 I think if the sully had more hair and it slickedback then it would be perfect imo.
@@danross7149 Not Elaine it's Elena. I get what you mean.
Totally agree.. Wasn’t feeling Sully so much.. Elena either. But it’s definitely better then the trailer I watched.
This should of been a full movie absolutely perfect perfect
HE ACTUALLY SOUNDS LIKE NATHAN
Nathan IS Nathan!
Looks like him too
Ikr
His the voice actor of nathan
Srry by nolan north
2024. Still the best live action version. Casting was beautiful. Fillion and Lang, perfection.
I visit this fan film every so often to remind myself just how badly the official Uncharted movie floundered.
When fan films are better than Hollywood movies 👏👏👏
Sefraca This is like Tomb Raider but not
I don't even want Hollywood to make a movie now because it wouldn't even be able to top this
With Nathan Fillion in it, I doubt it will be bad
He wouldn't get much say in how it's made. It would be generic and wouldn't feel like this film at all
If paired with a good studio, a good movie could be made. There are some good film studios in Hollywood
Still the best Uncharted movie in 2021, Sony. Sully needs a fucking 'stache.
And a cigar
100%..and the attitude to match!
They need to delay the movie. The fans are looking for fking UnCharted. Not some random movie cash grab filled with current popular actors like tom holland. Its not the actors fault, its bad directing and choices. Sully doesnt even have his mustache or cigar, I mean who is that guy??
Tom Hanks would make a perfect Sully
YESSSSSS
when a fan film is better than AAA 120 million budget movie
Bro is the PERFECT Nathan Drake, wish we could’ve seen more of him in this role
Blown away, devastated. This is incredible. Seriously, I would pay to watch a full length movie in theaters.
Or a TV show.
Tommaso Scandola i’d definitely settle for a good miniseries. Flesh out the rest of this adventure. The only question would be, where does this scene take place? Is it like Uncharted 2 where we saw the train crash but then we played sections before that before returning to the open scene of the train? Or do we just continue on from here as this has all the makings of a solid intro and breaking the flow that it ended on would create a kind of disconnect. I could also make a point for meeting both scenarios halfway by splitting this scene. So that before the action and exposition took place we had a call back toward the events that lead up to this moment. Including the heist that acquired the bracelet, culminating with his capture which brings us back to this moment.
@Andrenden, yes, it could be both ways, even though I would not split this scene. Uncharted has always been pretty much "regular" with the narration. It has only major flashbacks, but the story is not "fragmented". Anyway, this is just a video editing problem, so it's a "secondary" thing.
Tommaso Scandola DEFINITELY a tv show would be better Not being sarcastic
Hola browntable
Everyone talking about Nathan Fillion as Nathan, but Stephen Lang as Sully is pure PERFECTION
EXACTLY!!!
I wouldn't have pictured him as Sully on my own, but after seeing him play Sully, he is perfect!
but get this imagine bruce campbell though
And yet we get fucking markey mark Wahlberg as sully 😒
Really? He doesn't really look like Sully.
Can’t believe that Nathan did this and he really fit the description of Nathan Drake even though Tom did great but Nathan will do best! And didn’t know Isabella and Nolan went for a treasure hunt 😂
I still to this day see Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake...
