    • Mushrooms seem to be silently waiting everywhere for the perfect conditions to fruit and spore…they are near magical in their complex roles within their ecosystems. It delighted me to see them taking a March. It would be good to see some colonies of woody growing shrubs where those species symbiotic with living trees etc. gain the opportunity to build their underground network of mycelium enhancing the communication among the woody plants.🖤🇨🇦

  • I also have several setups with large terrariums that are connected via tube systems. But until now I haven't dared to let the ants and other animals live together because I was afraid that they would wipe each other out. But it looks like if the animals have enough space and food, it should be possible to let them live together. Thanks as always for your great contribution. I've already watched it several times.

  • I I just got out of hospital to discover this. The vivarium has been maturing beautifully. You can never fully predict what Mother Nature will do. You managed to avoid too much unintended life invading unplanned. I am fascinated anew each time I see the update. You have created a magnificent and epic ecosystem to explore from outside yet. It is quite a unique reality. Ants Canada has created a magical vivarium, although it started itself before intended. It is, however, gorgeous. I would like to have seen it without invasive species as initially intended. Both offer plenty of intriguing interactions to witness. I have loved watching this one as it evolves. Watching the variables between the two will be most interesting. Thank you for all you do. Happy New Year to all denizens and their world makers. I would like to see the planned food chain, and how it is playing out…as well as if there were invaders from outside the initial plan.🖤🇨🇦

  • If you want your centipede to be more active, move or remove the heatpad for the a few hours, and when it comes out give it a pinky mouse. When I had mine, I'd thaw one out special along with my snake's. Then I'd make a trail by dragging it around, and then once it got late at night she'd pop out and I'd feed her.

    • I have tried! But she feeds on all the other organisms in the tank so she doesn’t really come out when I want to :((

  • These are the best vivarium videos I’ve come across! I’ve watched several of your videos (including this one) many times over now. I’m wondering, have you ever had the ants escape? How do you make sure ants (along with the other critters) stay in the vivarium? You have inspired me to finally start a vivarium after many years of wanting to do one, I just worry about having a breakout! 😅

  • Yeah, big centipedes might be the most unnerving insect i can think of. Just the mixture of speed and a sense of determination. But i will say, thanks to clints reptiles, every time i hear the word toxicognats i just get a smile on my face, which has made them a lot less scary to me :D
