Man, this guy is impressive, and we haven't even seen him play yet. I can tell why Brad and Dan traded for this guy. Well spoken and laser focused, I think Brad and Dan know that this guy will be a MASSIVE part to this season
What impresses me about Holmes’s draft pick - prior to this year, he’s been the GM for 23 previous picks……. last time I looked, 22 are still on the team…….. when was the last time that’s happened for the Lions if ever (?) that 2, 3 or 4 years later, that many picks are still on the team?? Holmes is as solid as they come on building a team the right way… so excited for this year…

Every time, last season, opposition was 3rd or 4th and LONG yards to go, we all "held our breath," knowing they were going to pass deep on us. We lost 3 games because of this. In all fairness, to the Lions, we picked up 2 top notch prospects to handle this.
Watching Terrion on the Rich Eisen show, I bet he LOVED this young lady calling his name. He still shook Roger Boo-dell’s hand.
By giving up a 3rd round pick, they got a player slated to go between 9-13 pick. What a grab!!! A complete team now, ready to win Superbowl.

If they can get Hutch some help or if Alim can step his game up in the rush, which should be possible with the addition of DJ Reader and add another Wide Receiver for a little more depth. No doubt we can make a serious Super Bowl run.
To put it a slightly different way, the Lions used their first three picks on the secondary. First round pick Terrion Arnold Second round pick Ennis Rakestraw Third round pick Carlton Davis I have no issues with the way this worked out!

Very happy about Arnold. Brad hit a home run with him. What I like about him is that he has confidence without arrogance. Willing to be coached hard, but knows he is up to it. This is why I struggled with CJGJ. Good player that had confidence but was very arrogant. I thought he was a bit out there with his personality. Lots of respect for him coming back quickly after his pec injury, but I just didn't think he was the right fit. As for not having the Commisioner call your name, I understand it to a point. These players work so hard, and being a first round pick is the ultimate validation of that work and individual achievement. That is the dream. Yes, it would be nice if Roger calls your name, but I don't think it diminishes in any way what it says about the player and the organization that picks that player. The roar of the Lions fans had to be pretty nice, don't you think? Add all that together with a player who will be financially set for the rest of his life in a matter of weeks, I think will put it all into proper perspective. Yes, I know, I am not a player, so it isn't MY dream I am commenting on. I am simply saying that the entirety of the experience should be considered, not just Roger's call of your name. I think the Lions took a few liberties because the draft was in Detroit. If there is a groundswell of player and fan opposition to people other than Roger calling out first round picks, fine. I understand it, but only to a point.

What I have noticed when they show the war rooms during the draft. Other teams have 20 30 guys in there. Lions have like 12 people max.

No bc there was a great edge rusher this year. The CB picks were stronger, especially with WR play now. Arnold fit better with the Lions culture. I think that’s the X-Factor.
