  • Another idea here for Paul is O(N) 11C right after RAS, to set up QI/I(ON), so Joey would need to use his E or I and will lose. Best response is XENIC, but that gives a Q(I) counterplay.

    • Ah, very nice! LE(N)O immediately should work too now that I look at it again, I think I only mentioned LE(N)O later on in a few other sequences

  • Man, I remember being at Nationals in ‘08 trying to guess 9s with Joey and Conrad when they were just kids. Both are legends now. Love those guys. ❤

  • Paul could have also won with LEE/E(M) 14B (as pointed out in a book), setting up QI/(L)I 15A, which would force Joey to use his I (with GI 15A) to block.

  • I was looking for bingos on column K as well containing Es?S but it turns out there aren’t any with this tile bag. Just in case someone else was curious :) It wasn’t a total waste of time, though… I learned that bejesuses is a valid nine! 😂

  • I was actually thinking about RAI in the same spot as RAS before the answer was revealed, but didn't think it would work due to simply being blocked. RAS is 10x more brilliant because Joey had to see the (H)E setup before RAS. Super counterintuitive to give up those 3 tiles in that spot though. Wow.

  • This is very nice, but it's also counterintuitive that MYC is somehow allowed in scrabble while not even having a wiktionary definition. Also the game process implies that HEE (as in laughter sound) is invalid? Well HEE is certainly more of a word than MYC 😂

  • Cool endgame. It's definitely worth pointing out ths fact that it's an NWL game, otherwise QI(N) plays in two different spots.

    • Q-stick is better in NWL game.

  • 11:46 HEX, MYC, AD/ID, ZING collecting the E has to be a better sequence, because playing the E allows ZIN and ZING.

    • No, it would be ONYX. “Onix” is a Pokémon.
