5 minutes before I had no ideas this sport existed and now this is my favourite sport of all time
I also got this suggested today 😂😂😂😂
Same lol
Me2
Knight fights: It's the shit.
Hahahha I feel ya
We're getting closer and closer to having the Roman gladiatorial fights resurrected. Next up: MMA vs animals
Michael Vendick yeah tell that to peta lol
Next up... they actually fight to the death. So excited.
Why you wanna pick on animals bro.
@@apitsaplees4749 PETA doesn't care but only money is what they want
Lei一一一 yeah but they love whinnying about everything so that’s an opportunity for them lol
You know its serious when even the ref had to go full armor ...
It's crazy in some of these events the ref has no armor 10s of people just swinging axes and swords around barely being able to see
and the little shield lmao
I’m a ref for this sport and we don’t usually wear armour we usually just wear yellow and black bumblebee sircoats with big sticks
thats just how he casually dresses
The ref should be dressed as a dragon
😂😂😂
ghahahaha
HAHAHAHA

This should be a mainstream sport
@Rick Corthals If you are talking about soccer I 100% agree if you are talking about American football you have a disability
@@dave_novakovic4955 Good
I would prefer HEMA personally. It's similar, except those guys actually train as knights with high grade equipment, while these guys use MMA techniques, which aren't well suited to fighting with weapons, or armor.
@@CoffeeSnep i thought MMA was useful in combat especially when weapons dropped to the mat or when it was really CQC and no space for weapons? There was this japanese video of guys in armor here in YT and they displayed some good judo techniques with armor and weapons.
@@pepehorhae MMA means mixed martial arts, and that's how it started. However, all of the fights are unarmed, and so that's how the fighters train. It makes for very effective, well rounded fighting, but isn't designed for use with weapons, as it has an emphasis on striking and wrestling on the ground. Grappling is great, but you don't usually want to go the ground with the guy who has a dagger. Grappling in general is great, and that is why the unarmed combat of HEMA and most other historical martial arts are centered around grappling, such as Judo. The grappling isn't really for when the weapons drop to the mat, because they don't drop to the mat by themself. That's where the grappling comes in. Disarms function either by disabling the hand or arm so it drops the weapon, or by grappling. A lot of other grappling moves are also very useful in armed combat. It can be a suplex while fighting with longswords (something similar is shown in Achille Marozzo's _Opera Nova_), or simply grabbing the opponents arm for half a second so you can cut him. This is all kind of off topic though. While grappling is important for any armed martial art, most fights don't come to grappling, they end with the weapon, and that is my problem with M1. They are experienced martial artists in unarmed combat, but don't know how to fight with a sword. Therefore, M1, SCA, and Battle of the Nations kind of just whack each other with their weapons like cavemen. In M1, they usually try to get into grappling distance aggressively because that's what they're good at. The result of this cave man swinging is that, instead of representing armored combat, they do unarmored combat while wearing armor. They count all sorts of hits with axes and swords as points or "kills", despite both combatants being fine. Real armored combat requires either heavy blunt force with dedicated weapons (like a mace, not a sword) to specific areas (head, collar bone, joints, hands) or thrusting using a finely pointed weapon (spear, sword, pole axe, dagger) with extreme force into gaps in the armor to pierce the maille. Certain grappling techniques are also very useful for accomplishing this, or joint locks to affect the wearer despite the armor (doesn't work as well against later period riveted joints, such as the White Italian armors). Incidentally, all of the techniques and weapons that actually work against armor are strictly prohibited in M1, SCA, and Battle of the Nations. Instead of using real armored combat techniques and weapons, they instead use double weight blunt swords and lots of padding, and then proceed to bludgeon each other senseless for points or eventual knockout. Don't get me wrong, this stuff is all good fun, but it isn't historically accurate or medieval in any way. If you want to see demonstrstions of European armored combat, watch the channel "Pursuing the knightly arts".
ever since I found out about this like 3 days ago I can't stop watching these videos and I wanna get involved in this but literally have no idea where to go for information lol.
Same my dude. I'd jump at this in a heartbeat
Start by joining a HEMA club and do regular endurance workouts, and unlike the fellow in the red and black gambeson, keep your shield up.
Bare møt mæ i trondheim sentrum å ta me ditt fineste sverd!
Did you get involved?
I suggest looking for Buhurt places near you, if you live in or around Bethel Ohio I suggest the Cincinnati Barbarians
In my opinion they should fight in a medieval setting..
Gamer3172 just making a meme of this When my friend and I are fighting over who gets the sharpness II book
And with real swords
@PURPLE NOSE CREEPER / / pixel pimp hahahaha lol how is it called? Share a video pls
@PURPLE NOSE CREEPER / / pixel pimp dude thats fucking crazy lol
I agree, that's why I always watch the outside ones, I don't like the seriousness of a inside 1v1.
When your D&D group never even leaves the tavern.
5:11 "What would you do here to edge out the victory here if you were one of those two guys" "Use a gun" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thrust and keep my shield up.
LMAO
I feel like this is how actual combat was like back in medieval times.
WobunTwoFoxtrot the big difference is that the swords aren’t as sharp here and they are not allowed to stab each other. Back in the olden days people getting killed for entertainment wasn’t necessarily considered a bad thing lol
@Diederik oh yes it was lol. Gladiators were celebrities and a considerable denars investment. They weren't often executed. And one dying that was worth cheering for, was a loss for both the crowd and their owner/trainer
No chance
@@alexanderrahl7034 if im not mistaken most gladiator battles didnt even fight to the death, usualy they would only do that if its like a funeral match or smth. (Im not really sure sorry in advance)
knights back then were a lot more skilled, agile, strong, enduring and lethal
one day someone will be critically injured in the crowd.
Alexander Barrera like a sword will get thrown into someones head
Shadow shit happens
They need a cage.
flying piece of broken sword in the eye and the crowd goes wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its all apart of the fun
Now I get why Romans loved gladiator fights 😂
When he says “Guns weren’t invented back then” they actually did, but they were little more than a small cannon on a stick
Those aren’t what he’s talking about
@@draco_1876 one ammunition, abysmally slow reload rate, no scope, only severely injures or kill one person in range, inconsistent on headshots bow or crossbow more superior, before gun concept being revolutionized
I see how this was popular back in the day
its hella fun and way more satisfying than squeezing a trigger..
Turtle TwisT back then as you saw in this video they both dueled each other one losing and one winner. Back then in medieval times one came home alive with or without scratches and injuries and the other wasn’t so lucky to live
@@stevennikolovski6098 Do you know how hard it is to kill somebody dressed in full armor?
Chciałbym być poniakiem (klocuszek123) I forgot to mention open fights with no armor just a sword
if it wasn't boring it would still be popular.
What is this? GOD! I want to take part in this.
This should definitely be in a cage
Venkman Nah, they should fight in a pit
B355Y why not both? Lol
Venkman a cage surrounded by fire haha.
a pit or a cage for sure, falling trough the ropes in full armor is probably fatal.
@@FREEDOMFORUKRAINE2024 it looks like the ring extends past the ropes Should still be in a cage because of flying/broken weapons. But i think they realized how dangerous falling out of the ring would be.
Who knew full grown men fighting in heavy knights armor fighting with weapons that match the time would become my favorite sport
Oh hey they realized the ref should have armor good for them
@AxentiumZ There is a small chance this is one of the rare cases where an incident didn't need to happen before someone got protective gear
Agreed, for some reason or another most armored combat refs don't wear armor
EA should make a game about this

It’s cool to see how many attack sequences that are high percentage strikes in like boxing, kickboxing, and mma is still present here. Attack sequence at 2:44 is mechanically the same as a 1-2 hook or switch kick if you were Thai boxing and needed some spice.
Plus the extra layer of concepts like feints. The first strike in the aforementioned sequence was a feinted sword attack to a shield bash to the face
Ahhhhhh the good ole shield to the face tactic never fails.
one of these guys against Mayweather..would be nice
Mayweather by head kick
Mayweather would win, these guys would be gassed casing him.
@@sublime929 Yeah but he'd be taken down in a second, and then get the most brutal ground and pound anyone has ever seen
I think Mayweather would do pretty good. He has superb reflexes, a lot more than these guys.
@@lobo53695 mma fighters tend to get their asses kicked when they first move to this sport because its so different so id say mayweather would be the same. swinging swords and maces in full armour relies on different muscle groups and its all about endurance and staying on your feet.
No one threw a pommel. Dislike.
Girly Boy Eamie where is that from I've been reading that q lot in these videos
@@robertramos1297 they are a meme in a channel about swords HEMA, and other stuff called "Skalligrim".
@Vixep Ey somebody who want to end him rightly
Oh how shall thou endeth him rightly!!!!!!
Still confused how is this not as popular as I thought it would be?!?!?
This is amazing, so fun to watch.
If time machine is invented, I'll bring one person from medieval age to watch this.
He'd laugh his ass off.
Tony ferguson the type of guy to do medieval MMA without the armor
Was looking for this
When you go too far modding Smackdown
Gotta love KZhead algorithm
I'm literally just discovering this right now! If i had discovered this 25 years ago, my life would have been all about this. I want a do-over!
I wasn't looking for this, but I'm so glad I found it
This is a thing!? Awesome!
Now i understand why mace and hammer was commonly used in combat.
Me encanta como se transmiten los valores del deporte, el respeto al rival se observa en cada sablazo a la cabeza, que bello, jajajajajajajaja

This is the greatest video KZhead has recommended me
MMA: For Honor
My favorite part about this sport is that the ref gets his own suit of armor too.
This is really a game of who gets tired first or if Anyone with any basic knowledge of wrestling can shoot for a take down and Merk you with the shield.
I can’t believe I just discovered this. This is crazy
I think being lefty handed would be a real adventage.
Is a big advantage in every sport my friend, in football a bit less because there are more left footed guys than left handed guys.
Thankfullu i am left handed 💪
awesome
Eu ADOREI!!!
I like how the announcers are saying "Back in the day" lol
Sword seems pretty ineffective...would rather have two shields
Should use hammer instead of sword
spears and shield would be better.🤔
The ref needs a face mask.. every time he breaks them up I get nervous
SHOW yes medieval MMA , Brasil ☆☆☆☆☆
Is this new update on for honor combat gameplay
Fantastic! I wish I had seen that before
MORE MEDIEVAL FIGHTS!!!
There is no more brutal and dangerous sport than MMA! Medieval fan: hold my beer!
Didn't know this was a sport...👍👍👍
someone's been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance lol
This is vintage mma
I see a camera man taking a sword to the eye. I usually don't think UFC should have a cage but this should .
artem " the goat " lobov is coming for this sport
I searched this up because I was curious now I’m intrigued 💀
No fair, that guy in the white CLEARLY had a +1 long sword.
Чисто случайно увидел в реках, и вижу флаг Ингушетии на спине бойца, сразу приятно стало
I wonder how these guys would do in a real med evil battle if they went back in time. I reckon they'd do very well.
Is this equalized pvp or does gearscore count?
Who else was screaming in their head Maximus Maximus Maximus Maximus
When people say shields are defensive weapons I say "Nahh man, smashing board"
I wish we had this in the US I want to do it looks fun
I think that fighting arena should be much bigger So that it doesn't turn out like grappling with armor
0:51 The Mace! BRING ME THE MACE!
Is this the new for honor dlc
Both fighters were totally gassed during the final 1-2 mins.
Just found this out and its so damn cool
5:10 “if you were one of those knights, what would you do?” “use a gun” . “oh wait, those werent invented yet were they”
Can be a nice sport to watch but needs improvements.
Imo what makes it less fun to watch is they use sword with a fully sword-proof armour, it would be more interesting if they just use some kind of hammer or stick which will deal damage even if they have armour.
It will become better as more people take part and as it eventually becomes professional Any sport becomes better as there is money involved
with blunted weapons, it kinda really negates the point of having one in the first place. You'd deal more damage with a weighted glove or short bludgeoning weapon than a sword. I wonder if it's against the rules to just throw your longsword to the ground and beat your opponent into submission without it, cuz it'd def be easier.
Even thou they are protected from hard blunt forces of their armor. Im sure there is a give and take clause of wearing metal, steel armor. Those hits when hitting the metal armor is sending out serious sound waves withhin their head gear and likely more acceptable to concussions. You do not have to be knocked out to get a concussion. It s one of the reasons why we no longer using this type of protection and I can imagine the blows of sending soundwaves from the metal s composition to do such physics to the brain.
How do you get points in this?
How is this scored, is it safe? Whats legal and isnt? So many questions
These guys are taking Larping way too seriously.
Would be neat if they gave the fighters some sort of spring loaded collapsing sword so they could safely do stabbing moves so that the fight is recreation of a real sword fight. Taking out the ability to stab changes the entire aspect of sword fighting making it more about bash and smash rather than technique and smart sword fighting
that's what i was thinking
I agree.
Genius idea
What if the springs from One of the swords gets fucked and One of them gets stabbed 🤣
well thats probably wat would happen in real life
Why can't I get this on Dish net TV????
Imagine someone in the street trying to fight you dressed like this. Lol
Now this is a fucking sport I’ll pay top dollar to see this 💪🏻💯
So this is just regular MMA someone added a Medieval mod from the Creation Club.
Waooww the best MMA in the year
This is brutal!! ⚔️
When you only level strength and vigor but no endurance
That's cause if you put those same points into endurance, they'll shove you to the ground at the start and you'll get the shield meets face treatment.
They really need a different venue. An outoor arena or something. Could use a moore traditional look and "feel" to it.
I have no idea why this sport stopped today, it's one of my favorite to watch
Can you use submissions?
