Hello everyone! This video will be covering the most basic aspects of the summer season in the 3 latest games in The Sims series. I've already compared winter, so, two more to go.
I covered mostly just the weather (rain, hail, heat) and activities introduced for the summer, hope I didn't let anything important out.
So the summer weather is just unforgiving in all of the games, if the lightning doesn't kill you the hail will kill you or the heat alone will kill you! I think Sims 4's the deadliest this time seeing there are specific days your sim can't stand being outside, the know! They're all good in this aspect and I enjoyed summer way much than I thought I would in all of the games, focusing on their possibilities alone.
Seasons has a hell lot of new interactions with the weather alone and these 3 games do not disappoint, which one would you call your favorite?
So, my opinion?
Sims 2 did a great job in the weather category, so many ways to kill sims only by leaving them outside, their activities were a little short, Seaons was more focused on the weather and for the first game that implemented weather properly I think that's fine.
Sims 3 was a little more focused on activities with their festival which I enjoy, they took everything that Sims 2 started and added more stuff to it, my one complain would be the hail is almost rain where sims complain, there are no actual consequences to it and it seemed a little lazy but ohhh welp, that festival is enough to make me forgive the hail. Also, the sun is deadly!
Sims 4 did a good job balancing weather and activities, the extreme weather was something I really enjoyed just for the visual aspects, that storm not only seemed real but the sims constantly running and being scared made me feel they were actually in danger...and then my sims wouldn't be struck by lightning until I left him outside 2 days straight, that being said the heat wave's no joke, took only a few hours to kill. I liked the introduction of the kiddie pools, probably my favorite object in Sims 4 so far, the only thing I didn't like is there was no festivities but that just means you're free to create your own so I can't blame them.
So tldr, all of them did good in different areas, they were all a pleasant experience and they all had their problems so they all won imo.
But that's just my opinion, be sure to share yours in the comments ;D
There was stuff they I couldn't get in here, like the scouts, the plantsims, the aliens, etc so maybe in the end I'll make a video about seasons in general but I'm not sure.

I hate how lazy EA has gotten over the years. So much potential for Sims 4. Like the comment I saw on another video: "Leave it up to the modding community to pick up the slack EA couldn't bother with."
Michael Kinney no EA didn’t they puted out the sims4 get famous pack!

@@SpookeyClown pffft as if, that would be acctual gameplay that would affect every sim: $40

Hey it’s Eleanor I don’t think they have hail in the sims 4. They definitely don’t have sunburns.

Yep.. either a lot of people accepted the lack of content.. (People complain all the time.. but has the SIMS team listened? Nope..even when u buy packs look at the lack of colors/what it DOES add). Or u wait for sales and play w Mods.
Adding.. this makes me feel sad for console players. Rare to have sales and no MODS/CC/Gallery. Why no Gallery? "Still working on it." Yeah.. that's just an excuse at this point imo. Might as well just be truthful, they are lazy and $$ hungry to spend time on that .
Lol right, EA got extremely lazy with Sims 4
Allison Bradley You obviously don’t play the game much.
I looooove sims 4 but i have to be honest, sims 3 is better
The thing is that if you have some other packs you can have a fully experience of the seasons like the ice cream maker from kitchen cool stuff pack, the water slides from the back yard stuff and the halloween stuff pack
mojitoazax but you still need pay more money just to get fully experience of the seasons in Sims 4. In Sims 3 you just buy seasons and you already have fully experience of the seasons

In case anyone was curious, and for clarification, the sprinkler in Sims 3 came with the base game.
That's what I said. The sprinkler was not introduced in Sims 4 but in Sims 3.

I miss the sims3 town so much.
Great comparison! The Sims 2 and 3 are full of details that make the game more alive. The Sims 4 recycle a lot of animations and most objects are just decorative... I really have a love/hate relationship with this game haha!
Same, I think they're all good and bad in different aspects, hopefully they keep the best bits of each to create the next game
The sims 4 didnt recycle any animations. The sims 3 used a lot of the sims 2 animations in fact!
I know but you're wrong. I'm not saying that The Sims 4 uses animations from the previous episodes, I'm just saying that the game often uses the same animations for different interactions. I can give you many examples. Sometimes, they are absolutely nonexistent (no animation when a sim takes the elevator or takes a picture of another sim, etc.)
@@lReMi07l Yes, Sims 4 animations are repetitive but I love the death by fire and drowning animation.

I love Sims 3 summer, Its so much for you to do. The only thing sims4 has on sims3 is the fact that your toddlers can swim and you can create your own holidays. Other than that Sims3 wins for me. I think I prefer the actual seasons aspect of sims 3 better but I love the calendar for sims 4 too (ive never played sims 2 properly)
The Sims 2 is a 2004 strategic life simulation video game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is the sequel to The Sims. ... Although gameplay is not linear, storylines exist in the game's pre-built neighborhoods.
I know a lot about the sims 2, I love the stories/backstories that came with it and It's a very good game but I think I played it once (for only like 5 mins) when I was younger but I was too young to appreciate what it had to offer so I never played it again and sold it, I regret that now obviously xD
The Sims 2 is the best part of The Sims series.
I wish sims 4 had lilo's like sims 3 and I also wish we could swim in the ocean.
But Sims 2 is the best Sims in terms of content and gameplay.
Ah yes, the sims 3, where i was actually motivated to have large families because we were like a family. TS4 families feel so distant and disconnected and feel more like roommates who don’t like to talk.
TBH, Sims 4 isn’t fun unless you buy all the expansion packs. Sims 3 however? You can do so much with the base game. You could buy a property, and maybe buy a work building and fire everyone. You can also have teens stay out part curfew and get caught by the police. If a kid gets mad, they can destroy their dollhouse (if they have one). Also, at the graveyard, you could tour the catacombs and end up being burned from the ghosts. Something else is that when you move into a new house, it’s POSSIBLE that the house is haunted by ghosts and you have to deal with them (unless you summon someone to zap your ghosts). Oh! And one more thing. Kids and teens can get detention from slacking off too long in school. As you have read, you may understand now that Sims 3 doesn’t need expansion packs in order to be fun, unlike the overrated sims 4.
They Strip soo much unnecessary things, that should've been in the main game for Sims 4. Yet at the same time didn't really add much to the game.
Sims 4 isn't overrated tbh, it hated xD
They cut all the fun stuff in the sims3 and made them into sims4 accesories to make more money from it. EA Got so lazy and money hungry these days damn. Also a cool thing in the sims 3 was that teenagers Got driven home by the police if they weren’t at home by 9 pm.
I wish the sims 4 had an open world from sims 3, but better quality and better looking. All we have in the basic sims 4 world is a museum, gym and club. Like in the sims 3 the town used to have a theater, grocery stores, a school, a park, a town hall. And they used to have a stadium, a beach and a graveyard which to all of these you either got dropped or by a school bus (to school of course) or you could drive your car, and if u don’t have one or your a child or teenager you could just go there by bike. When I play the sims 4 I wish so many things could be added that were in the Sims 3 ugh, but fingers crossed for sims 5 guys.

Im playing sims 2 right now. Who else loves ts2? Question: If you've played sims 2, what's you're favorite thing about the game? My favorite thing about TS2 is all the stuff you can do, and plus I never get bored.
It's the only one I could get to run on my laptop. Sadly I can't use my laptop now, since it keeps forcing an update it can't handle. At least I have some old console Sims games!
I do

I've never played it bc it came out the same year I was born

I love both seasons in sims 2 and sims 4, sims 3 was the best ,but graphic performance and lag destroyed your game.
Sims4 is just remastered version of sims2, but has more DLCs.
What computers do you have? I'm playing the Sims 3 all EP, no SP or cc, but some mods lake Master Controller, Traveler and Hibrid without any problems (some lag was in Isla Paradiso whan my characters live on it, but whan my sims traveled to this island for the vocation (traveler mod), where were no lag at all). But whan I tried to play The Sims 4 (EP and GP from Get to work to Parenthood, no cc or mods at all)... Crashes, saving mistakes, processing that never ends... Loading that never ends... I can play in Sims 4 without problems one-two-three-Sims weeks... Am I the only one who have a problems like this?
Agree. Personally i prefer sims 3, but my laptop can't handle it so....

the thing that i love so much about sims 1 and 2, especially 2 is that it was more dark. Sims 2 had a lot of heart and story in it. I actually read all the existing families' bio and it's amazing how they all link with each other. The game had so many secrets and mysteries, that I made it my mission to figure them all out. And then little things that make a huge difference, like when you could choose from a bunch of terrains for your neighbourhood and actually decorate them with trees, blimps in the sky and buildings and so forth (not to mention you could put in as many lots as you like - those terrains were HUGE) . Not sure about Sims 3 (played it like twice, since there were so many and expensive at the time) but Sims 2 had a metal radio station, which is fucking amazing. I feel like Sims 1 and 2 were the best in its storytelling and overall style. After that it became more "child-friendly" and lost that essence.
In the sims 4 I had a mud pile right in front of my front door and it was the most frustrating experience of my life
I feel like at this point, with 4 games, there is no reason certain expansions like pets, seasons, celebrities, and cities aren't just base game now.

At the moment, Sims 3 is a lot better than Sims 4. But I feel like as they add more content and expansion packs, Sims 4 will be a whole lot better. Updates and new content takes a while to make, and I'm willing to be patient. They've finally developed Island Paradise (called "Island Living") now and it already looks better than Sims 3. I feel like in Sims 4, they appreciate different cultures more and have a lot more activities. I think people focus more on the faults in Sims 4 than they do the new and fun things, even if they're just minor details (i.e. the choice of umbrellas, mud fights, weather controlling, powers coming from the lightning, messing up your umbrella, actually being able to see the heat waves, thermostats, hot weather and cold weather clothing, a lot more CAS options, etc..) I hope that once the game has many expansion packs, EA will continue to update them and bring new content, such as summer and winter activities, hail, and other things.
I see what you mean. But EA DLC's are infamously expensive, they charge more than is worth it, people just dont want to waste all that money, so Sims 4 feels much more boring than Sims 3 without expansions. I just like to create unique houses, neighborhoods and nice-looking sims with unusual stories and hobbies, for that Sims 4 is still very good... and a few of their DLC are actually very in-depth and well done, although most feel a bit empty
Sims 2 for me is the best game of the series. It's simply amazing and you'll never get bored with it.
I miss a lot of the fun stuff from the Sims 3. Especially the island paradise. I enjoy a lot about 4 but 3 was my fave. Scuba diving! So fun!

The sims 2 seasons had a glitch when sims got into a hot tub outside when it's raining even when there is no thunder what so ever they get struck by lightning and die. There was also another glitch for sims 2 that their temperatures were full red and didn't get heatstroke but did catch fire from spontaneous combustion which was also implemented into the sims 3 seasons as spontaneous combustion was a glitch in the Sims 1 base game according to sims wiki well at least the earliest unpatched version of the game.
Sims 3 doesn't have an outfit category specifically CALLED "Summer Clothes" or whatever, but I do remember my Sim being out in her normal outfit in the summer, then the game was like "It's getting really hot. Would you like to change into your swimwear?" and (WHOOSH!) she did. So I guess that's the equivalent. You can also pick swimwear that includes a t-shirt and shorts, so it _looks_ like just regular summer clothes, too.
4:54 - it surprised me, but recently i saw it in Sims 3!
Yeah, forgot to put it in, the heat waves are more prominent in Sims 3
I don't know about any of you, but I have played since TS2, and I am a big fan of the whole Sims franchise. Now, as far as I know, new Sims games (except the TS2-style extra games, etc.) are released about every 4.5 years. Well, TS4 was released in 2014, and TS5 is supposed to come out in 2019, but it doesn't look like The Sims Team are even finished with _half_ of the packs/expansions. Right now they are focused on stuff packs that cost 10$, just to get more money. That's why I currently play TS3, since it's the best game imo.
It's about time for the Sims 4 to leave, but seeing how we've got a few expansions missing I'm sure they're gonna keep milking this, the Sims franchise is going to be 20 years old in 2020 so maybe they're going to wait until then to release Sims 5, Sims 4 is a success so the can continue with the series.
Pardon me but you are misinformed. Sims 4 has three types of expansions: game expansions 40usd(same as sims3), game packs 20usd (they acctually have a good number of content) and stuff packs 10usd( sims3 stuff packs were 20usd back in the day). As for sims 5, it will not come out in 2019. The development team decided that sims 4 will have a longer cycle than other installments.
Sorry, dawling, I forgot how much the stuff packs cost! But for real, in 1 year TS3 already had multiple expansions and game packs, so I'm not changing my mind~
I enjoy every sims game but im currently only playing the sims 4 and btw they stated that ts5 wont come out until the sims 4 is 100% finished which will take another 4 years, so yea im happy about that decision tho. ts5 wouldnt be any better tbh
They aren't doing stuff packs for the Sims 4 anymore

I worry about the people who keep commenting; *’I wish sims could get sunburnt in the sims 4..’*
Ah yes, i wish I could get a painful burn from the sim that could possibly explode my ear into pus, very reasonable wish.
Homestly I was kinda disappointed when I saw the animations for the water balloon fight and snowball fight for the Sims 4 :/ In my opinion, I think the Sims could just be a bitore lively, you get what I mean? They just stand there and look around before throwing a water balloon or snowball at other Sims then we wait again Man, Sims 4 is lacking in a lot of things The Sims games basically complete each other in things other Sim games lack, like Sims 4 graphics, Sims 3 open world map, the cinematic things and more interactions of Sims 2, and I have no idea what I could get from Sims 1 since I've played it when I was little and stopped when I got Sims 2 so I don't remember much of it
3:09 Me going through life.
I love these comparisons. I still haven't really moved on from the Sims 3 (though I think I have a neglected copy of the 4 base game somewhere), but I enjoy seeing how things have changed and are changing again. The Sims 4 is improving but I'll definitely wait to see if a complete collection comes out in 5 years or so.
Spontaneous combustion in the sims games was originally a glitch in the unpatched version of Sims 1 base game when it was released in 2000. The seasons expansion pack for both sims 2 and sims 3 had sims randomly catch fire whenever their body temperature is too high. I don't think sims can catch fire while being too hot in the sims 4.

I like sims 4 a lot, but I really miss the full neighborhood in sims 3. You don’t need to see a loading screen every time you travel. A full neighborhood would make sims 4 so much better.
>Sim opens umbrella >Sim looks up >"Oh, it's raining!"
By using a hot tub or pool in a thunderstorm in the sims 3 and 4 the sim leaves the pool or hot tub and gets struck by lightning just after leaving. In the sims 2 they get struck while sitting in a hot tub and they leave afterwards. I never had sims stuck by lightning in the pool in the sims 2 without the use of the death creator cheat. Even with all 8 sims in a large pool during a thunderstorm for several weeks and nothing happened. In the sims 4 they only get struck in the pool if they die from lightning which is treated like drowning and it requires the sims to have various buffs for them to die by lightning while swimming however in the ocean in Island Living it is glitched due to how the Grim Reaper spawns. Sims in the sims 3 never get struck by lightning while swimming even when singed.

I actually like sims 4. But they missed sooo many opportunities. Like, take seasons, sunburn and hail is obvious. But, they should have added a new world. One with an actual beach, maybe skate parks, even a carnival or other neighborhood areas for different seasonal fun. It's not even just seasons that they miss opportunities, but every game pack they miss these little opportunities that make the previous games really fun. The little details or bigger things that give the game depth. LGR even mentioned how they tend to add complexity rather than depth, which sure, adds prettiness and some temporary fun. But, without depth, which comes from the details they add in the game, it ends up lacking and getting old really fast.
Yeah, I agree, Seasons is probably the only expansion that felt like a real expansion in Sims 4, and what I mean is they didn't cut anything like they had been doing in the past, but even then it still feels like they could've done more, that being said, Seasons is probably Sims 3's biggest expansion so I expected it to beat Sims 4's by way more than it did. But that's just me and by my comparison's results.
Even the little miniature how they add in The Sims 4 the heat weaves is so cool!!! ❤️
I should be studying math for an upcoming long test, but here I am gathering informations about The Sims.
The sims 3 all the way! Sims 4 is so boring even with all add-ons.... sims 3 on the other hand just gets better with each add-on, you don’t feel limited with things you can do. Ts4 is only enjoyable if you install mods (which I have) but that does get pretty annoying since you have to manually update it and sometimes when you’re playing the game you find out a mod is messing with your game which can crash your computer. Only good thing I have to say about the sims 4 is CAS. 🤷🏼♀️
sims 3 also need mods to fix some issues, however theres a huge difference here,, in sims 4 we install mods to add content that should be in the game already, on sims 3 we are just fixing the problems... sims 3 and 2 all the way much better than 4 :/
Your vids are always great 👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Seasons are one of my favorites in the games. . .especially when it 🌧. But my character got electrocuted shortly after she went outside in a storm in SIMS 3. 😅 It was. . .rather entertaining because of her reaction. 🤣😂😅
Omg that click when the person recording clicked the umbrella sent me back 🤣
Sims 3 - Gameplay over Design Sims 4 - Design over Gameplay
So true
Nobody cares but around 6:37 a firefly flies into the sim's belly button and I've been laughing at it for two minutes, my humor must be the worst
Your videos make me appreciate sims 4 even more
Nice was just wondering when you'd throw up a video for the next video. Thought tanning came with Island paradise in 3 could be wrong. Really enjoyed the Sims 2. Seasons is just a good addition for any sims game. Wasn't sure if you'd mention it, but the stalls appearing in different sections of commercial areas in neighborhood and changing depending on the weather. Thought it was pretty nifty. That and water balloon buckets pop up in the summertime too. They have more flavors of yogurts at a stand in the summer.
Sims 2 ftw
The sims 3
Sims 1 had fishing as well-I even have a screenshot of one of my Sims catching a boot at the vacation spot.
9:15 its sound like “little fly right” 😂
Sims 4 for me those thunderstorms are seriously beautiful and them slipping is a great addition
Honestly! Winter too, I live in a really snowy state, and the sims 4 is SO accurate with what a snowy day looks like. My sims were lighting the tree and opening presents next to the fire and it was so cute!
In my opinion it wins the sims 2
Sims 3 Sims also react to rain, either opening their mouth for raindrop or hate it when the rain touches their skin
Weather was planned in the sims 2 base game but never made it until seasons three years after the base game was released.
How many times do you need to Revive some member of the family? Do you have Family-Backups? Or just Re-Load the game?
Depends on the game, in Sims 4 it's just a different save file, same with Sims 3, Sims 2 is where I do have to be careful with whatever I do cause there's no such thing as a different save file, just yesterday I was freaking out because Anne's eyebrows were blonde, I couldn't change their color for some weird bug and my game had been saved, Sims 2 is the most stressful in this aspect.
@@TheRedPlumbob I remember once on Sims 3 I made the parents have brown eyes and their son had blue eyes.
There actually isn’t a premade holiday in summer, you just got a surprise one that can happen whenever
Really? In my 3 game's that one was always there, luck I guess.
@@TheRedPlumbob yeah it's a surprise holiday
The Sims 3 is the best Sims game ever!!! But I always miss the changing tables from Sims2 😍
I love the way sims 3 had that memory folder thing where they kept memories, sadly they don't in sims 4 but I wish they had it
