Kobe Bryant's "Amnesty Game", Tough Jumpshots vs. Dallas Mavericks || 38 Pts 12 Reb 7 Ast (02/24/13)

2013 ж. 24 Ақп.
1 300 140 Рет қаралды

Kobe Bryant puts on a show with an array of guarded and difficult shots vs the Mavericks after Mark Cuban seemed to insult him, with a suggestion that the Lakers consider an amnesty to save money at the expense of Bryant. Kobe put up a variety of deep 3-pointers, turnarounds, fadeaways, fallaways, and shot 62% for the game, including 9/11 in the second half, 5/5 in the 4th quarter. He later tweeted "Amnesty THAT" after the Lakers won by 4.

  • This was arguably my favorite season by Kobe, everyone had doubted the Lakers that entire season and they had the right too with all the expectations. However, they did forget that Kobe is still Kobe Bryant lol. They said he was getting old, Kobe can't compete like he used too. Well Kobe had several performances that entire season that proved who is one of the greatest in NBA history.

    • RahulPresentsKobe Maybe for Kobe but not for the Lakers, this season was one of the most disappointing we've ever had. We had Dwight, Nash, Kobe, Pau, and Metta and we still only barely made it into the playoffs and got swept by the Spurs. It was pathetic what we did with all of that talent.

      @GregoryAlanBaileygamereviews@GregoryAlanBaileygamereviews9 жыл бұрын
    • Gregory Alan Bailey Dwight was never cut out to be a Laker, and hiring D'antoni over Phil was basically announcing that we wouldn't do much in the playoffs that year. D'antoni needs running wingmen and stretch 4's, and we had a team that Phil Jackson could have done a LOT with. So it was disappointing but after we lost on opening night I kind of already had a feeling it wasn't going to work out.

    • 251Trioxin I heard it’s just because he grew up in the 2000 era playing ball and the jerseys got tighter around 2007 or so I believe. Kobe just wanted to keep his jersey similar to how it was when he first came in the league. It’s the same reason John Stockton kept the thigh high shorts even into the late 90’s.

Steve Blake only stepped up once Kobe went out with the achilles injury and jodie meeks only shot 35% from three and that was the only thing he could do that year (he improved tremendously in rim finishing in '13-'14). Idk what the fuck u watched in that season but Kobe dragged that team to the playoffs in the 2nd half of 12-13

  • watching this is just amazing...Kobe is the greatest offensive player the league has ever seen...when Kobe was in a groove there was nothing you could do...I saw MJ's entire career and in all honesty MJ never caught fire like Kobe...MJ may have a better efficiency and FG% but he never attempted such impossible shots....the level of difficulty on Kobe shot selection was off the ricter...abd that was absolutely by design...Kobe reveled in making the impossible...that is what made him Kobe...I believe if Kobe wanted to average 10 assits per he could have easily done it with the amount of attention the defense would give him...the thing is Kobe being the scorer he is thought...I can draw 3 defenders left and kick it right to the open guy for an uncontested 3...or I can blow every ones mind and nail this 23 ft fade way with 2 defenders draped on me trying to block it in thier faces and rip this teams heart out in the process....hmmmm....ill go with the latter!!! I miss you Kobe! GOAT the only one who could beat you one on one...father time.

    @DonCorleone87@DonCorleone8710 жыл бұрын

    • Sirus Rogers You can always be better - but he can play "wise" like that and end up being another Aaron Afflalo or some other guard who plays within the constructs of "smart" basketball. I think Kobe enjoys the challenge of being different and doing what's not always the safest play.

    • Heisenberg-SchrodingerEmc2 I believe Kobe is a better scorer than MJ, but I've been watching a lot of MJ lately and I think MJ's defense and strength put him ahead as a player. But if it's about 1 on 1 or scoring points or making a very difficult shot, I put my money on Kobe. Jordan was more under control so he was more efficient and a better team player, but Kobe has no boundaries. You can't stop him and you never know what he will do.

You can see that the chemistry wasn't really there, and the only reason why that team went to the playoffs is because Kobe carried them, unfortunately his old legs can't stay longer. You are given a brain so that you can judge by your own instinct not just Google for stat sheets. That man torn his achilles just for the Lakers' pride, pay some respect, If you're a hater then you have no place here.

Unstoppable mid range, the three ball, the post moves, the footwork, the clutch shooting, the silly circus lay-ups, the clutch free throws, the passing, the handles, the impossible shots with 1 second on the shot clock... only Jordan compares. Maybe Bird if he was a better dunker, or Durant depending on how he recovers from the Achilles

      @emjay1249@emjay12498 жыл бұрын
    • There's a lot of sound arguments to be made. I wouldn't put Shaq in the running because he didn't stay, even though he was phenomenal and during the 2001 year you could say he was as effective as they get, but Kareem, Jerry, Magic, maybe Elgin, the Lakers are the most storied franchise, they have the most of the true superstar players, but when you look at Kobe, and you take into account that he'll be there his whole career, 5 time champion and arguably the most fundamentally sound player to ever play, he's definitely the greatest player to ever wear a Laker jersey, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's the greatest "Laker". I bet more people think of Magic before they think of Kobe when they think Lakers. I would guarantee more people hate Kobe than they do Magic.

That achilles injury severely shortened his career as he clearly had at least a couple more elite years.
