2009 Western Conference First Round Game 4, April 25 2009 | After a dismal 5-24 outing and missing the game-winning three pointer in game 3, Kobe Bryant entered EnergySolutions Arena looking to take the life out of the Utah Jazz as soon as possible. Kobe was sizzling from the opening tip, hitting contested jump shot after contested jump shot. After one of the worst playoff performances in his career, Kobe connected on 16 of his 24 shot attempts en route to a 38 point night while placing the Jazz in a 3-1 deficit and sending them to the brink of elimination. The Lakers controlled much of the game and won convincingly 108-94.

  • LOL I remember this game. Kobe had a bad previous game and they called Brewer a "Kobe Stopper." Well they never called him that again. Kobe killed the Jazz every year.

  • I love how the best compliment Dorris Burke could give was that Kobe reminded her of LeBron tonight...and then that his crossover reminded her of Michael Jordan's. Since when does LeBron have more of a killer instinct than Kobe? The NBA has always been biased towards its poster children: MJ and LeBron. Kobe Bryant was just so unstoppable in his prime that he forced his way into the conversation.

    • Why do people compare LeBron to jordan or kobe it kills me because LeBron is def a top 10 all-time player but his style is closer to magic but LeBron is slightly better scorer than magic .... LeBron wishes he had kobe and Jordan's scoring.. kobe and jordan could just hit a zone that LeBron wishes he could hit

There was no volume of course but I swear every time I looked up, Kobe was drilling another fadeaway with somebody draped all over him. Just pure art and skill. Killer. • As well respected as Doris Burke is, she lost her mind trying to compare LBJ’s work ethic to Kobe... there was no one, at that time, who was more hungrier and determined to win a title than Kobe Bryant and he was a man on a mission not just in this game but the entire playoffs. He took it upon himself to remind everyone of his killer instinct and torch every single one of his opponents on every possession... the most skilled scorer/player this game has ever seen. He was the complete package, he had no weaknesses... can’t make them like the Mamba anymore. ✊

    • "who was more hungrier and determined to win a title than Kobe Bryant and he was a man on a mission not just " If that's the case, why was it in a game 7 game against The Suns, Kobe only took three shots in the 2nd half? He didn't leave the game early due to injury.

  • This man put up 38 on 80% shooting. But tell me about how he's inefficient

    @brad7566@brad75663 жыл бұрын
    • This is one game dummy , his career efficiency is not great , but considering the shots he took and the double teams in certain years he was pretty efficient , overall on paper he was not that efficient tho

    • Kobe being inefficient is such an idiotic narrative. He always shot at or just above league average. A career 45% FG considering his playstyle and being double and triple teamed for his whole career doesn’t make him inefficient by any stretch.

    • And to be honest his major injuries in the last 3 years of his career brought down his fg% considerably. He wasn't the same player after those.

  • Forever you will be missed Mamba, you have taught me what it means about hard work and dedication. I was in foster care and in the boys home and overcame those treacherous days but you gave hope to stay focus, everyday I watch a video about work ethic or just watch your classic games. You meant a lot to others but you saved my life. Every time I see or watch something about you It sends chills up my spine, every time I type something in the comments, I start tearing up but you will be forever missed- Love ya💔😢🐍🙏🏾

  • Remember Kobe said himself when he goes into games, he played the Michael Myers theme in his head, over and over... he transformed himself into Michael Myers: a stone cold, zero emotion killer. Absolute focus on what he had been training for and preparing for. Long live MAMBA!

    • People don't get it when they talk about efficiency. Kobe's consistency shooting jumpers over you ALL GAME LONG was demoralizing. Especially if they weren't going in all game and all the sudden start dropping in the second half or final quarter and there's nothing you can do.
