  • Remember that guy from the Azarenka/Fernandez comments that said Andreeva would absolutely CRUSH Fernandez. I wonder where he is today? 🤣🤣🤣🤩

    @derrickoakes4879@derrickoakes48796 ай бұрын
    • Not sure why anyone would think Fernandez is ever going to be an easy out. No one gets past her easily even in a one sided scoreline, because getting to the scoreline usually takes 90 minutes of pure pressure. And then you still have to hit another ball back. Fernandez is one of the best players in the world at getting the ball back into the court and making you hit one more ball. That’s how she beats you.

  • Lets give the credit when it’s due. Can we appreciate that Leylah really played a better game? This is the 2nd time they played against each other, and for sure Leylah figured it out how Mirra plays unlike their first meeting. People tend to overlook that Leylah has already been a finalist in the US Open, and can really go deep in any tour. She’s improving, especially her serves.

  • It's strange to see how in bigger tournaments Mirra is dominating over the non top 20 players without problems and loses against players, like Sabalenka, Gauff, Rybakina and Keys, but in the smaller tournaments, where most of the top players don't play, she is getting eliminated early (she has losses against Rakhimova, Bondar, Stephens (who actually is a former GS champion, but here we judge the current ranking and form of the players) and now Fernandez, whom Mirra beat in a bigger tournament earlier this year). I think the problem isn't in Andreeva's playing style, the problem is in her mentality. Don't matter of that how big is the tournament, i feel that Mirra still isn't ready for a WTA title. I know that it's only her first season in WTA and her season is great in terms of consistency, especially on that age. But at the same time i am a bit worried about her. I hope to see her improving mentally, because she is one hell of talent.

    • No need to worry. Fernandez showed her greater experience today (although she's still relatively new too) but Mirra has a much higher ceiling. I thought she actually looked a bit tired. What she does need to watch is her temper because I can see her getting some disqualifications in the future if she keeps flinging the racket around!

  • Andreeva is a brat. She gets slack because she’s cute and blonde, but she needs to mature. Leylah, Coco, Emma were all that young when playing professionally and none were little spoiled jerks.

  • Yet again another collapse by Andreeva after winning the first set just like against Rybakina. Doubtlessly talented,but one has to wonder whether Andreeva really has the temperament to win at the highest level considering the way she was throwing her racquet onto the court after losing a few games as usual and appeared to be crying at the change of ends in the third game of the final set. But of course all this is excusable at 16 but if she's still doing it at 18 then it's more serious. Don't forget only a very tiny minority of talented teenagers ever make it to the big league and the jury is still out on Andreeva for now.

  • C’mon cut some slack for Andreeva. She is just 16. Imagine by the time she is 21, she probably be at least 1,80, with a powerful body, destroying opponents right and left. Meanwhile, Leylah is still in 60th place, not progressing a bit, and making a fuzz by beating a 16 year old at the end of the game. Kind a sad really.

    • Worst take I haver heard. Leylah has develooed a lot and is already one of the best doubles players in the world. She played one particular style at that USO. Her coaching staff knew others would catch on so they have had to sacrifice results in the short term by taking the time to teach her other tactics and shots etc.. It will all come together.

    • Maybe.. if Andreeva will not have mental health problem.. she looked so stressed and can’t handle her mistakes..

    • This is a dumb comment, Leylah has beaten top 10 players and made the final of a US Open, the quarters of the French. And is a top doubles player. And she’s only 21…

    • You can't be 16 forever because to date she hasn't won anything of note yet and this is only a WTA 250 event. Let's see how she does in a couple of years' time because if she's truly exceptional then she'll have won her first Slam by then.
