The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. • Agree. Osaka lost this match for three reasons: a) Fernandez played extremely well; b) mental weakness and c) she is a bit overweighted. The last two can be overcome in the near future. She is going to return to her best performances.

      @hugomena9744@hugomena97442 жыл бұрын
    • @@hugomena9744 Why do you think she'll overcome the last two? She hasn't yet. In fact it's gotten worse. She needs to do one of two things. 1. Take a LONG break and figure out what she wants to do. She doesn't like tennis. Find a way to love the game and come back happy and fit, or 2. retire with your millions on a beach (or wherever) somewhere.

      @piratecat5113@piratecat51132 жыл бұрын
    • @@piratecat5113 look up the definition of racquet abuse and don’t believe what the commentators say. Racquet does not need to be broken for a racquet abuse violation. Having said that, the umpires know that Osaka was already in a bad mind state and calling a racquet abuse would have completely taken her out of the game. If the umpire would have done it, she would have been blamed for defending champion’s failure to win. Instead, she let Osaka destroy her self. Defending champs have advantages so do all top players when playing lower ranked players.

Even the British commentators like Naomi Brady who used to be a tennis player said that the game between the two was really climatic. Both praise the teenage girls for their resilience and skills. • I love Osaka. Any "fire" colors will look awesome on her. Yellow, red, purple, pink, fuchsia, neon colors, etc. White, black, of course. But those vibrant colors really pops on Osaka. Would like to see Osaka clean up on her unforced errors. A lot of that is from the mental problems she is having. Osaka has to let that go and don't allow the "cold" to bother her. When Osaka's game is not flowing, perhaps can incorporate more spin like topspin to her groundstrokes and returns. Her feet when forward and slight bent on the knee so much power but when the shot goes out, she needs to add more topspin instead of just driving the ball. Osaka will need to read or to anticipate the shots more before the ball goes over the net. Because players who are 5'9" and under and going to put more spin and create more crafty shots like drop shots. Osaka was relying too much on her power play which is fine when it's working but when it's not, adding that extra spin will really help cut down the unforced errors. In today's women's tennis, lots of unforced errors is detrimental unless Osaka is playing like Graf with lots of winners to compensate. But still, Graf wouldn't be making that many errors against tougher opponents. Hingis at her peak always have 5 or less unforced errors in the set or match. The opponents would be making the unforced errors thus throwing away the match. And love Osaka's forward stance but she needs to play the midcourt and net like Hingis more because her shots are so powerful she could end the point in 2 shots if Osaka would come in more. Instead of taking time off, would like to see Osaka play more doubles or mixed doubles. That way she can experiment more with her shots, play the midcourt and net more, and more practice on shot selection and how her opponents react to each shot. When Oaska's game is not in the zone, she must work on her shot selection and come in more.
