I was going to comment just that. "Top tier" math to calculate that 6% battery for 25 km means 416 km (417, properly rounded, but oh well), when the 6% was obtained from 88%-83%.
His actual prediction would be 25 km / 0.05 = 500 km.
Well 6% of 88 is actually 0.06*88 = about 5 so 5% of his charge lost

Moreover, he goes on to calculate that 6% for 25 km would mean a 416 km range, which would only work if he previously meant the 6% to be relative to the whole 100% of battery, not the starting 88%.

As a German I would like to add that in german "turbo" is associated with doing something (e.g. work) faster or in general with speed. The most popular german dictionary ("Duden") states that the german "turbo" in the broader sense means "to perform/to achieve/to push oneself/to exert oneself/ to make an effort" (original: sich mehr anstrengen, mehr leisten). Still the Taycan of course has no turbo, but maybe that´s one of the reasons why they kept the "turbo". I hope all of you have a great day and stay healthy.

Although battery’s don’t perform well in cold, it was probably in Porsche’s best interest to allow the reviews in the artic circle. The extra cooling probably increases the amount of full power launches that the car can do before overheating.
Are we just going to ignore the fact that starting with 88% and finishing with 83% means you’ve used 5%, not 6%!
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that they started with a hot car, drove it a small distance at the relatively warm temp of -6C (20F) at the extremely low speed of 50km/h (30mph) and then called the winter range "not bad"? In a realistic scenario, (leaving the ski resort in the dark at 5F, cold car, 50 mile drive @70mph) it would have been a different story entirely.

Drove a Taycan 4S some days ago, I can tell you, you dont need a Turbo/Turbo S. The 4S is fast enough.
I would not hand someone the Turbo S unless they have track experience, seriously.
This would be my choice over a tesla, this car questions the existence of the panemera

Hey Matt, great review! Just a small piece of feedback: can you also include miles/km per time period when talking about charging? Since efficiency of EVs is different 0-80% doesn't mean the same thing across different cars.

Tesla fanboys always use "wait for the new Roadster" when their other models lose, and time keeps passing by, and the Roadster does not even exist. All that 2+2 hypercar that can obliterate anything else, with 10.000 nm (Seriously?) And only for 250k. Those numbers are just fuel for the fanbase while Rimac, Pininfarina, Lotus already shown their new weapons, alongside Koenigsegg, a group of 50 swedish geniuses that have shown a real 2+2 with 1700 horsepower, the Gemera. The Roadster, the more it delays, the more absurd and outdated will become. And now we come to the Taycan. Why would I prefer it over any Tesla? First of all, it's a Porsche. If you like cars, motorsport tradition, nice driving, accuracy, quality and other stuff, there is no way you can choose a Tesla over a Porsche; and second, because it's a million times better built, is better looking and its performance is easily enough for any real world situation. Tesla is essential nowadays in order to encourage the other brands to start their way to electrification, they have done a wonderful job and their effort can't be rewarded enough. @@DavidGarcia29497 Elon musk does have the Model Y crossover and Tesla Semi-Truck to launch as well as the Roadster, but it's definitely by Fall or next year at latest. The Tesla Roadster looks beautiful to me. It's more beautiful than the old Ferrari 458 from many years ago (I know saying that is the petrolhead equivalent of Blasphemy, but I did it anyway)

The countersteer is just the same as in any AWD car on snow, like Audi. You can control the slide with power, so you do not countersteer as soon, and mostly just when you want to turn straight back again.

Four wheel drive car is always fun on snow. That's why I have quattro. Test begins 13:46o'clock and battery drained out at14:53, which is basically just one hour and temperature is only -5. Colder it gets, faster battery drains. Also, it seems, this car was preheated in garage, so you saved cabin heating energy also. Yeah, it looks nice, but still, electric cars are just toys for urban people, Sunday cars, to do a short joyride, nothing more.

That is an amazing car. Electric car perform very well in winter and don't use that much more energy to run other then heating the cabin (which will be quit a bit). The effect of cold on batteries, is to reduce its capacity to store and deliver energy. You can lose up to 50% of range in the worst condition. Look at your own test. 80% give 220 Km. 100% is 275 Km. This is quit a bit less the 400 km max range expected. On my Honda Clarity PHEV, I go to more 80Km in summer to 43 Km in the coldest of winter. I live in Ottawa, Canada. It was -10°C this morning and it is not winter yet.
For me like Matt said for the rs6 the the taycan is the best looking car in its class and that's why I love it

Hello, The energy unit is written as kWh instead of KwH!
Well, that would be because the car is German. Germans doesn't do things half arsed, they do it properly, always. And kWh is the correct way of abbreviating kilowatt hours in the SI system. Kilo (thousand) is always with a lowercase k. An uppercase K would make it kelvin, not kilo. Watt is always an uppercase W. A lowercase w doesn't exist in the SI system. Hours is always with a lowercase h. It isn't an official SI unit, but accepted for use with other SI units. The reasoning behind this is that units derived from persons have the first letter in upper case, like their names. So Pascal (pressure, from Blasise Pascal) is written Pa, Newton (force, from Isaac Newton) is an uppercase N, Watt (power, from James Watt), and so on. Does it matter? YES. Example: 1MW = 1 000 000 watt. 1mW = 0,001 watt.

Very nice - but personally I would like to know more about how an electric car copes with extreme cold conditions in the real world. i.e Starting on a very frosty / snowy morning (as in getting the heating / demisting going, so that the car is safe and comfortable to drive away, and also what impact all of that has on the battery? Does it heat up quicker than a normal combustion engine car etc...???
launch control puts more additional 136 hp thats insane. its like hardly similar to laferrari giving boost additional 161 hp when it is moving. i only knew launch control controls the power distribution to the rear wheels and prevent wheelspin. but giving u additional horsepower is insane. instant torque is different
