If this album came out in 1970s it would be considered a Masterpiece today
Exactly
People in 30 years from now, will say this is a classic album from the Monkeys.
..or it ended up like this instead Robert Christgau, TBH+C: (C- ) "Just another boring, pretentious, derivative muzak."
Fr
Just give it 20 years and it will be huge you know when were old showing this to kids
This tune sounds like they are in the spaceship travelling through galaxy
it's supposed to sound like they are at the tranquility base hotel, located at the moon

@@Euolejnik you did it fucker jaja
@@endhel_ technically that would be traveling in our galaxy ..
This is the only song on the album that actually makes me feel like I'm taking a trip to the Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino. My favorite on the album
AM was pre nut. TBHC is the post nut clarity
J M tlsp's everything you've come to expect
Am I the only one who enjoyed AM more than TBH+C?
Po1SoN i'm sure there are plenty of people, given how popular am is in the general public and tbhc not. i'm not one of those people though.
Wise words
The guitar solo in Arabella always makes me bust. Fookin' exceptions to the rule...
This is my little sister's favourite album. And she's only 11. I'm freaking proud of her.
🥺
Omg i'm 12
Dang im proud of her, im pretty young too and this is one of my fav albums (my fav is whatever people say i am, that's what I'm not) People think i have weird music taste 😃👍🏻

How ridiculously good is this song? Seriously. The whole album. This is Alex's in his finest. Let's enjoy.
But, bet you look good on the dance floor , r u mine , teddy picker , balaclava and when the sun goes down they are god tier
The whole humbug is perfect
@Bryan McDade hMmH why?
Humbug is top tier tho
you mean artic monkeys
why are the short songs always the best dammit
It's actually connected to One Point Perspective, but I know what you mean - this song could be longer. Perfectly executed vocals.
Lyrics: So when you gaze at planet earth from outer space Does it wipe that stupid look off of your face? I saw this aura over the battleground states I lost the money, lost the keys But I'm still handcuffed to the briefcase And I never thought, not in a million year That I'd meet so many Lola's Can I please have my money back? My virtual reality mask is stuck on 'Parliament Brawl' Emergency battery pack just in time for my weekly chat with God on videocall Breaking news they take the truth and make it fluid The trainer's explanation was accepted by the steward A montage of the latest ancient ruins Soundtracked by a chorus of "you don't know what you're doing" And I never thought, not in a million year That I'd meet so many Lola's And all of my most muscular regrets explode behind my eyes like American sports And I never thought, not in a million year That I'd meet so many Lola's
Actually is "That I'd meet so many Lola's", accordingly to the lyric book.
Whats lola?
I'm not quite sure, but there's a movie from the 60's that's called Lola, which makes me think he's trying to say that he met people like her (the character). Again, not quite certain, just a guess.
could it maybe be a reference for "The Kinks - Lola"?
Possibly
Whenever I listen to this album, I think of the time when my girlfriend was still with me. I remembered how we asked each other out awkwardly for movies and how she smiled in content after eating her last piece of salmon mayo sushi. The vision of her dwelling in my bed and watching Blade Runner is still vivid to me, even if it's after almost two years. On the 29th of October, 2018, she died of heart failure due to an overdose of amphetamine. We had a wonderful time together.
Hope you're doing well now. Sorry for your loss

imo, this song has THE best instrumental out of all the other songs this band has ever created

True! Star treatment too
This album is really growing on me. The bowie feeling is amazing.
Exactly! there's so much of a bowie vibe in this album!
which Bowie album has the same vibe?
@@pseudocool9765 No specific album, but it definitely sounds like the love child of Aladdin Sane and Station to Station(with a bit of Blackstar thrown in).
I can't say it sounds like him, but it sure tells the story like The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
I can't pinpoint exactly what makes it feels Bowie-esque, but it just is

This is the best song on the album ''i never thought, not in a million years, that i'd meet so many Lola's''
PLSSS I CANT UNHEAR IT
I'm pretty sure the lola's is a play on a Spanish word that sounds like lola but means sorrows? Watch "TBHAC is masterpiece" and he mentions it

Probably my favourite song on the new album. Just stunning. The piano riff is heaven.
This song is like continuation of one point perspective. Listen after it and you’ll understand what I’ve meant. It just fits perfectly
It's all about the transition. On point.
Every time i listen to the album I never realise that AS has started

Yeah it took me 6 months to understand this beautiful track!!! Im listening in loop!
Very meloncholly, chill stream of consciousness vibe.
I don’t get how people don’t like this album 💿
It's simple. Some people just have terrible taste, and we should pity them for it.
@@gouthamakumar6591 small minded and immature response to that question. Reality is the fanbase is divided due to the drastically different sound of their music now when compared to their older stuff.
Because they're Retartded simple as that
Shortest answer: most of the arctic monkey's fandom joined after A.M's groundbreaking release, during that there was "revival" of other older songs such as 505, crying lightning... which gave the band a certain "image", and _image_ is the last thing arctic monkeys could ever have. We were told so long ago since their first album : *whatever people say that I am, that's exactly who I am not* . Upon the release of an album that's soo different from the "image" the new fans had: something that no longer looks like The NBRHD or Chase Atlantic or... any other bands that get associated with AM, they got confused, they didn't sign up for a sci-fi social commentary poem ?! they signed up for Do I Wanna Know ! which itself is a spectacular song from another spectacular album. But they shouldn't expect it to be the focal point of all their future work. This "dislike" happens a looot when an artist suddenly changes their style (Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Drake, Katy perry...) the only thing people forgot, is that arctic monkey's style is Not having a style, or -going by the title of their first big album - going purposefylly against that "style" other people set up for them.
@@asmael4787 not so sort and I agree
This album seeps into your pores like bathing in honey. The osmosis is a bit slow, but eventually gold runs through your veins. I enjoyed AM a lot when it came out, but it's not the album I come back to listen to years later.
One of the best songs on the album, those beginning two verses are mesmerising
Fantastic song. I remember when the album came out. I downloaded and listened on my drive to work. It was stuck in my head all day. The messages and ideas and it's theme. It's a concept album which most people don't like. They prefer random songs. And I get that. They don't want a 12 song story where the songs resemble each other. But TBHC was done really well and I love it.
I love this song. It sounds quite dark and mysterious and its probably one of the best songs on the album
Im pregnant
Eba Nyashka me tho hunni

This track is sexy AF
this track has one of the best starting transitions in any music album imo , such a beautifully haunting theme. Soundtracked by a chorus of "they really know what they were doing."
The Beatles , the Kinks , Squeeze and Arctic monkeys....the best songwriter's of England

The whole album is fantastic !!
I'M LISTENING TO THE ALBUM AND SO FAR, IT'S BEEN NOTHING BUT AMAZING. I'M PROUD OF THEM AND HAPPY THEY'RE BACK
this album has the coolest lyrics.
Criminally underrated, can't get enough of that little piano riff
Those debating if it's "so many lovers" or "so many Lolas", it's "Lolas"... The book Her Name Was Lola describes a middle-aged writer struggling with a creative impasse. It covers much of the same territory as Fellini’s 8 ½, which Turner has mentioned during interviews in reference to exploring his writer’s block. The book includes the line “There are so many Lolas!” which suggests this may be a direct reference. The name Lola is significant because it is the shortened form of Dolores, meaning “sorrows” in Spanish. Turner quotes elsewhere on the album from the L.A. lexicon of Spanish loanwords and may here be writing a play on words meaning “I never thought I’d meet so many sorrows“. Another possibility, in keeping with the album’s imagery of lounge singers and tawdry nightclubs, is that the name invokes the heroine of Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana.” Source : Genius Lyrics

Too good!!!
Pure art ✨
the transition from the last song to this one.................... so good
As an american from rural western Pennsylvania, a couple of online friends introduced me to Arctic Monkeys through TBHC, around the time of its release or thereabouts in 2018. I thought it was a joke at first, but the more I listened, the more this dusty lounge singer swing enraptured me. Being a fan of The Stroke and garage rock in general, it took no time at all for me to explore their early and then sequential discography; consequentially, discovering one of my favorite bands of all time. I only wish I could hear this band for the first time again.
Ouvir um trabalho novo desses caras é como ouvir a trilha sonora da vida que ainda está por vir.

The album is REALLY nice. But i think it's a little too mature for me. Maybe after a couple of years I'll like it more. I'm only 13 right now
Shut up you furry
This is so cute and actually mature way of thinking. Just don't rush it, enjoy your present state of mind, this album will come to you when you're ready.
I am 16 and i'm lovin it right now, maybe should listen other bands first, and try to learn guitar, it will help you to understand the music you listen in a better way, you won't regret it.
Ye to me it sounds good but I would probably like it better in a few years since I’m only 16
I am 37 and I like the way you think. Enjoy as you like, no wrong answers. I felt like that when I heard the Beatles at a young age. I liked them then and I like them now. Music and lyrics we enjoy are not just about what we get out, but also what we put in. These songs will not only help you mature, but you will appreciate them more as you do. Music is fucking great.
