I review the Acer SB240Y monitor, one of the best selling monitors on Amazon, and compare it to one of the cheapest 144 Hz options in the AOC G2490VX. It may just be the best budget gaming monitor of 2023, coming in just under $100. But how does this 75Hz gaming monitor compare to a cheap 144Hz gaming monitor?

Can i use my ps5 on it??
guy is you don't have the money for a 144hz 75hz is a nice trade off you will instantly feel the difference
Fr man, this monitor is definitely an upgrade.
75hz is enough to feel the realistic.
Absolutely, 15 fps more does make a difference
I bought a Philips 271S9 S-Line 75Hz monitor for my Alienware laptop, Xbox Series S and Lenovo PC-suits me just fine!
Now just make it bigger! I love a big screen with these specs. Thanks for the great video.
Bigger doesn’t always mean better. You will see more pixels if you make a 1920x1080 screen bigger.
Once you have a 165hz monitor, you cannot go back to 75hz. I clearly saw the screen tearing in the game test.
Over 13K subs, great work
Thanks!
Yes you can and the VGA port can be useful for retro pcs!!!
Does the back of the monitor support a dual monitor stand?
Nothing wrong with 75hz at 1080p. It feels standard considering we still have alot of tvs that do 4k at 60hz. I recently had upgraded to a 144hz screen but i still plug my pc in to the tv for some games
How about 1440p
@@nhellg6971 excellent choice too. You do get more real estate on the screen when using the desktop. Happy medium and they have hi refresh versions
What about samsung viewfinity s6? How does it perform in gaming
Ghosting is acceptable for this monitor. Great review
i have this monitor . is good. but no vesa and the stand is low
Hi tommorow im going to buy a 144hz monitor for my xbox one s wich do maximum 60fps, my monitor are getting lag when i put juste 60hz for playing ?
Can somebody pls explain can u play games on monitor whit put like that bix box bc i have only ps5 and monitor so can i turn it on
I bought a Asus proart monitor pa328qv 75hz but when I connect to my PC in 2k only the 50hz option appears HDMI Full HD option is 60hz , it only gives me 75hz and I stop going down to HD resolution, could someone help me?
Im about to buy a 1080p monitor 75hz for as little as $50 plus im a casual gamer so its a deal for me
for me I regretted getting an ultrawide 75hz monitor (i have a good spec pc) because I didn't know about good monitors at that time i just bought what i saw what looks good
same but for me it was five years ago. back then cheaper monitors below $200 were usually 1080p and rarely had refresh rates above 60hz. now it would be hard to resell mine for any meaningful amount of money. next time I buy I monitor, I will make sure to get atleast a 1440p 144hz monitor.
@tbm bro that's exactly what I am doing rn I am selling it for really cheap rn I bought mine for 400$ and selling it for 170$ rn I got the lg 34WK650-W
Honestly, I bought first the thing I liked, it was a 200$ 27’ Phillips Monitor and I love it but I think I overpayed, at least 50$. I don’t play games, I do graphic design and video editing so it does that wonderfully, but could have gotten a 144hz for the same buck if I did my research prior lol
Note: Some users may have experienced an issue with theeir 75Hz monitorsz where on display settings it shows 74.97Hz instead of 75Hz. I recommend to tweak it with an application called "CRU". I had this problem, but I tweaked it in the CRU and now it is showing 75Hz instead of 74.97Hz.
74.97 is 75HZ and no need to worry bro!!!
How you gon tell me you can tell the diffrence of 0.3hz 💀 * it also hapends to me
lol
Yes you can!!!
Does it work ps5
if your GPU isnt hitting 120fps, dont bother going for 120hz.
even if you are not hitting 120 fps, you still benefit from a higher refresh rate as the screen is updated much faster, which then reduces the time the screen tearing is visibile by a substantial amount.
I have rog ally i looking for good and budget friendly monitor im not competitve gamer just triple A single player only...is the 27inch 1080p 75hz is good for rog ally? O drop down to 24inch
You can go with DELL SE2722H KINDA HAVE BEZELS BUT COMPLETELY WORTHIT😮😊
He focused on sports and competitive games... But what If I am someone that usually play more casual games like for exemple, FFXIV, Dead Space remake, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Elden Ring... Will the 75hz lower my overall experience!? Btw I currently have a notebook that is 9 years old with a 15 inch screen at 60hz I think, so it is pretty horrible. I spend the last 2 years saving for a PC and I currently have a built with 2060 super + ryzen 5600. I live in *South America* so the prices for parts are stupidly huge, for example my 2060 super was took my whole month salary... Anyway, I intend to upgrade for a 144hz but right now I can only buy a IPS 75hz 24', which is one my price range. I think it is a good deal and I should lose much but idk...
I hope you get what you want tho Thanks for the recommendation
hi ! may be a little late but could be useful for anyone reading in the future, who knows ! if just like us you are playing on a laptop which has a 60hz screen a 75hz monitor will be a reasonable and great upgrade. the games that OP mentioned in his comment are great experiences at 60fps, and a 75hz monitor will allow you to play them without screen tearing as you can set them to 60fps and safely turn off your v-sync. so, if you're planning to play competitive online shooters then obviously you'll want more, as much fps as possible. but if you're not into those games, or planning on playing basically everything else, a 75hz monitor is a cheap and most definitely worth upgrade. 60hz laptop screens will eventually fade away, but we still have great machines !🫵💞
Guys my blaupunkt TV just effin died on me after 15 years... So I got myself X= XG22VA 21.5" FULL HD VA 75Hz FreeSync HDMI VGA for the time being for 80. Then I found this video. Thanks for making it dude. TV player for over a decade just got forced into the modern world like any other normal player. 😅
How's the X been treating you?
In my country Gigabyte g24f 2 23.9 inch 1080p ips 165hz/180hz oc is around 249$ And Xiaomi 2k pro 27 inch 1440p ips 75hz is 250$ i have rtx 3060 12gb ryzen 5600 which monitor should i buy ? I always play storyline games sometime multiplayer with friends ?
Do the UFO test on the 165hz gigabyte monitor and if it's good buy it
I have a 75hz monitor from LG and i wanna know if i connect a PS5, do i have the 120 FPS or not?
Try it in a game like fortnite and turn your fps on in settings and check
Built my PC some years ago, went from 4k60 TV to a 1080p144hz monitor, then added a 1440p75hz (gifted) and now added a 4k60 HDR TV with a 1440p120hz mode. There are use cases for everything but most of the time 144hz feels great. When I am reaching 80 fps at 1080p I try to use the 1440p monitor for 60fps
Yes
i have the same but its 100hz
If I’m playing gta in a fivem server what do you think would be better to get a better monitor or graphics card
Gpu of course
its is now way more then 85 bucks damn you inflation hasn't even been a year yet either(well almost) lol
75hz is 25 percent better than what I am using now at 1080p. I want to go to 2k so I will be getting a 75 hz monitor since I can't afford a card that will push a 144hz 2k display in new games anyway.
Will it work good with radeon rx 6600? I have LG monitor with 75 hz
yes, you will notice the 75hz as long you can produce 75 fps in games
@@aezuna Thanks. Im thinking of buying some 240hz monitor 1920x1080
1080p 75hz cheap fun 😅
I have the money for 144hz but I prefer a 75hz since frame dips are a thing
buy a better pc?
@johnabraham6695 frame drops are a no matter how good the laptop or desktop is
My laptop can output 90 frames on some games and it gets loud af, if I artificially cap it I notice some odd jittering/choppiness, I’m thinking a 75hz monitor might help but idk
Please help. Prefer 24 inch 75 hz or 22 inch 100hz?
24 inch 75
24 75hz
Acer SB240Y is $99 at the moment.
as long as it’s 75hz freesync it will still be fun to play on. Just DONT buy any monitor with no freesync. 75hz no freesync is bad. also at that price you can get a 22 inch samsung 75hz freesync monitor that has better color accuracy, hmdi cable, a much better stand and has vesa mount than that acer monitor
Can some one tell me how much fps max can a 75Hz can handle in fortnite
You can never see more frames per second than the refresh rate of your monitor. Doesn't matter if you can run a game at 200 fps if your monitor is 75hz you won't see above 75fps. So go with a 100,120,140 hz monitor if you want high fps and assuming your system can handle it.
When Harry Potter reviews a 75Hz Monitor in 2023 😂
There's 100hz monitors. Can't go lower than 100 in my opinion. And 165hz isnt that far away from that 100hz one aswell.
75hrtz is better
well the difference betwen 60 hz and 240 is 4 ms , so I presume this guy have a fly reaction time , sincerelly no way 4 ms can make you a pro .... the average human reaction time is 250 ms , yes 250 ms , and the fastest pro likely 180 ms , no way 4 ms make any diference .On average the human blink lasts only a tenth of a second which is 100 milliseconds. Wow, that's fast! thats show how insinificant is 4 ms
1:34 OR if you're trying to reach a rank above Gold LUL
No bro not worth don't buy You can't play Assassin's creed Valhalla, and high FPS games in this 75Hz monitor, screen tearing happens 😢😢
free synch over hdmi works only on amd cards, nvidia does not support it, and compactible nvidia free synch pro/ premium monitors have it stated, so connecting via display port gives you thts. and yes som with more higher fidelity games happens is the monitor just does not have the power to match the fps output, or synch to it. so rn when 1080 p 144 hz monitors are cheap dont buy one of these.
or just get a console which lasts too long with atleast 7 years of non stop new games to be played, i ain't upgrading nothing
