Global National: June 5, 2023 | Canada projected to have worst year of wildfire destruction

2023 ж. 4 Мау.
687 881 Рет қаралды

On this episode: Canada is experiencing the worst spring wildfire season in its history, raising concerns about whether the federal government has the necessary resources to extinguish the hundreds of wildfires raging across the country.
Mike Armstrong looks at what's burning in several provinces, including how one village has been completely wiped out. Meanwhile, Eric Sorensen explains what's being done now to douse the flames, and how experts believe the response needs to improve.
Tensions between the U.S. and China are escalating following a dangerously close encounter between the two countries' warships in the Taiwan Strait. Mackenzie Gray reports from the HMCS Montréal with a look at the strong show of force by Canada and other western countries in the East China Sea, the growing fears China could invade Taiwan, when the Pentagon believes such an attack could happen, and how the West might respond.
The Russian government has released footage suggesting it thwarted a major Ukrainian offensive. Redmond Shannon explains the Ukrainian government's cryptic response to the claim, as Ukraine makes apparent gains near the destroyed city of Bakhmut.
Many Canadians are struggling to afford a home and industry experts warn the need for affordable housing is quickly outpacing possible solutions. As Mike Drolet explains, one Guelph, Ont. startup is pushing an idea that can be found right in backyards.
Plus, Apple has unveiled Vision Pro, its much-anticipated headset which blends the virtual world into reality, for a hefty price tag of about $5,000. Jeff Semple reports on the various uses for VR, and why there are doubts about how successful Apple's device will be.

HALLELUJAH! 🙏🏼🙌🏼💞✝️❤️ So naturally I thought the LORD was returning immediately, and I got saved just in time! NOW I understand that eternity is on ANOTHER time scale. Peter wrote about people like you LONG ago! "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts; And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the father's fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth, standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack, concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:8-9! REPENT AND RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR TO HAVE YOUR NAME SECURED IN HIS BOOK OF LIFE! "AND WHOSOEVER WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE." After the rapture happens, there will be 7 final years of hell like there has never been before on earth!! You don't want to be here for that! So, get tight with God, Jesus, and He will send you His Spirit, The Holy Spirit to live inside you. His Spirit living inside of you will guide you in your daily walk with Him. • @Quiet-Time-With-JESUS Arsonists set fires in Australia, US Pacific Northwest and now Canada; although you won't hear that on msm. Some are anarchists and just want chaos and destruction, some believe that if they set fires msm will blame global warming and it will bring an end to the industrial world and fossil fuels. So crazy to destroy the ecosystems that some are trying to protect, but in their minds the ends justify the means. When I talked about the forest fires in the Pacific NW and the arsonists who were arrested, I was threated. Two have been arrested in Canada, but I'm sure many charges will be dropped. I lost count of the number of fires in Canada, but more than two are responsible. Satellite surveillance showed many fires starting simultaneously across wide areas so they were coordinated and set deliberately.

Small towns in the northern and remote areas of our provinces are impacted. Soon these fires will start spreading south into our cities like Toronto (ON), Ottawa (ON), Victoria (BC), Sydney (NS), Montreal(QC). Canada is definitely going to need to have a paramilitary forest fire force.

  • Idk why the Prime Minister is talking about hurricanes... Canada has had like 30 Cat 1 hurricanes and 2 Cat 2 hurricanes. They rarely get hit by any major hurricane and if they do, they are little baby ones. 'The strongest hurricane to make landfall in Canada was Hurricane Ginny of 1963,[2] which had winds of 105 mph (169 km/h) and a minimum pressure of 948 millibars (28.0 inHg), making it a Category 2 hurricane at the time of its landfall near Yarmouth, Nova Scotia." That's like a Tuesday in the south US.

Canada had 3 million hectares burnt this year alone (by may) and Australia had 24 million hectares burnt in 2019 (yes, not a typo, 24 MILLION, not 2.4 million!!!) We need to focus all of our global efforts and buying and funding fire fighters (not just volunteers) and purchasing water bombers that are shared between Canada and Australia... the only way is working together, not going alone.
