  • I snagged these on a deep sale at Best Buy about 8mo ago for 120 bucks. At that price point in particular, these absolutely cannot be beat in any metric. Very comfortable and extremely rich sound. Battery life is fantastic too in tandem with the accelerometer too. I was going to go for the top end logitech but I guess they're very prone to failure. I'm glad I went with these. It's nice being able to have them connect to multiple sources simultaneously as well. Really have zero complaints about these. I suppose the only thing they could've added to make them absolutely perfect would be hardware driven ANC for phone calls and gaming with loud keyboards. Oh, there is this company out there that makes aftermarket custom ear cups so yes, they are replaceable.

  • all Corsair had to do was improve the rigidity of the ear cups. It's a constant complaint of people where their ears touch the speakers and have to fix it through 3d party ear cups. Why companies like Corsair don't spend the little extra effort to resolve complaints of the previous versions, one will ever wonder.

  • Well, I got the SE version and I'm kinda still on the limb with them. I've had them for almost a yr, and when I first got them there was a lot of cracking that I heard and I got them replaced. New pair was the same, but it's stopped for now and I can hear fine with them. The only other thing I have a problem with it is when I'm playing a game and it gets low on power and I have to plug it in to charge, sometimes it freezes my game and I have to close it and reboot it.

    • @@moktafizaman9077 Totally agree. Ended up buying the headset and I have to say Dolby Atmos was a game changer, especially in games where you rely on audio queues, such as Warzone. Massive difference from for example JBL Quantum 800. Having used the headset for some months now, weight/comfort is the headset's biggest downside imo. Should either be a bit lighter or have some more padding as I can really feel it resting on the top of my head after a few hours.

  • The only issue I have with them aside from retail price is the the lack of comfort I think $220 is a little pricey for what they offer, however I got them for $130 through a sale+coupon and I think for under $150 they are top tier headset. The two downsides are the mic sensitivity with bleeding audio, and the comfort. Comfort is a 6/10. Not terrible, but my ears hit the drivers and it makes them sore after 2+ hours. Mic issue. Audio bleeds through the headset and is picked up by the mic. On PC I use a G track pro, but I do use the Corsair mic on PS5. I have the sensitivity all the way down, and my party members say they hair my game and their voices echo if I ever go about 45% volume on the headset. So I’d say on pc they’re and 8/10. For console they’re about 6/10 since the mic issue and lack of EQ

    • Don't regret your choice mate, I've had the Virtuoso SE for over a year and I recently switched to the DT 990 Pro and they made me realize how horrible are the ear pads on the Virtuoso, they are insanely thin to a point where you can easily feal the plastic inside with your ear, so I don't recommend them just because of that. Also, matching replacement ear pads are nonexistent to find and buy, you'll either find the same ones or some that look really weird and are 50 $.

      @TheClone@TheClone3 жыл бұрын
    • @@TheClone agree with this. I picked up a pair of Virtuoso XTs. The headband is much better than the SE, but the ear cushions are pretty thin and not very firm, so your ears rub against the drivers. Also, I think they went too far with loosening the clamping force. I picked up a pair of DT 770 Pro’s and couldn’t be happier. (The open back nature of the 990s doesn’t suit me unfortunately)

  • I am in total agreement with your opinion about the sound. I have the Corsair Virtuoso XT. I exchanged the Turtle Beach Stealth 700Gen 2 for Corsair Virtuoso XT because I wanted a headset with 3.5mm input for my PS5. But to my surprise, the sound quality of the Corsair did not match the sound quality of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2. The Corsair does have a bigger sound stage but the sound .....how can I put it?........the sound is low-resolution to my ears. I was thinking since the Corsairs is 120.00 dollars more than the Turtle beach it would sound better but it didn't. These headphones are not the best choice if you want to listen to music. The Corsair is better for video games music reproduction and to be honest, I have the Audeze Penrose X and it blooooooooows! these headphones out of the water!!! The Audeze only cost 20.00 dollars more and they have planar magnetic drivers. The Audeze sound is clear and full plus these headphones can get loud when you want them to, which is a plus in the headphone world where volume is too limited. I am thinking of returning the headset but I did notice they are sounding a little better over time. The Corsair sounds like the OEM Wireless Microsoft Xbox One Headphones without the bloated bass and before you eq them. If you are using the Corsair just for gaming and you want Bluetooth features just to intercept phone calls while you are gaming then the Corsairs are for you. If you are going to listen to music while gaming, then the Penrose X for Xbox and PC or just Perose for PS5 (Penrose X does work on PS5 but you must put the dongle in PC mode) is for you at the price point of 299.99 and boy is it worth it!!! If 299.99 is too expensive then get the Turtle Beach Stealth 700Gen 2 for only 149.99 which has better sound (Turtle Beach Bass and Highes are turned-up so beware!) than the Corsair Virtuoso XT for 149.99.

    • @@pcworld Plus the only headset that comes close to the Penrose as for music reproduction and reproduction for gaming sound is the Drop Pandas. The Pandas are using planar magnetic drivers too but the Penrose edges out the Pandas by a hair because the Pandas are reserve in the highs and just a little in the volume output ( though the Pandas are higher in volume than your average headphone but not as loud as Penrose). I do game on my Pandas via wired. I am anxious to see your review on The Penrose, you will not be disappointed. Plus your review was an excellent review of Corsair, keep it up!!!

    • There's not any real alternative if you need a wireless headset with microphone and 7.1 audio. Maybe only Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, however the problem with these is that they're very outdated 2018 technology, which is simply not worth it for such high price. Another ones I found were Turtle Beach Stealth 700X GEN2, though these look more cheap and I wouldn't trust them to be as good.

  • THIS IS IMPORTANT: Never had a problem with my Gunmetal SE edition Corsair Headphones, but considering these crazy US $$$ prices for the XT variant I'm very shocked at the greed of Corsair and or retailers be it from manufacturing , supply chain , to store front. I would expect the new XT to replace SE in pricing and SE be reduced and phased out. This is nonsense! As these additional extra functionality settings such as multi device Bluetooth mainly is a feature I wish I had on my Corsair Wireless RGB SE edition headphones, while, also being available at a lower price on an Asus headset a little over a year back and even lower on some Logitech headsets back then. By low, I mean the difference between night-day & 150-300 dollars. At "around" $300 US this price in Australia will be ridiculous and to top it off my old ASUS headset I still use (Dual PC Set-Up) and in addition & consideration of the now older SE variant, the ASUS headphones were 160 $AUS when new, while the SE were 370 $AUS when new and spec wise they go pound for pound at pretty much exactly the same, be it wireless, drivers, and another notable point the frequency range between low to high on the mic's available (so as to have that fuller vocal range effect, not dronie) was equal, battery life (without RGB) bout 18-20 hours each equal, build quality solid on both and Virtual Surround Sound (which is a must for me in FPS shootouts!) available back then on the Asus headphones also. Considering everything including inflation, this is absolutely insane, by that the pricing of these products now to just what was 1 to 2 years ago. There is no value here anymore if one can pick up an old headset with the same feature level for the prices they were back when new also. Let me guess "the miners" are to blame with this product as well going sky rocketing through the roof! Peace out Peeps while Adam keep up the great work. @PCWorld Rules!
