Jay, this the first time I've ever watched one of your videos. Love the mix of energy and intellect. I have subscribed!
ty for that video, im in love with that headset, it work charging is like my dream coming true
First video I've seen of yours, you're great! Keep up the good work! Love the light-hearted vibe and the knowledge as well. I'm one of the users who isn't your top audiophile but understands enough to like some of the more technical info 🙌
Thanks, Jay I was looking into them, now you made it a easy choice.
Jay, thank you so very much for this video, I ordered the SE version and they just arrived, Sooooooooooooooo much better than my old ones, worth the price.
Oh man, I used to play online with a guy who was a heavy breather into his mic! Drove me nuts!!! This sounds like a great set, thanks!
I’ve had mine since this review and still love it. I play COD Warzone and coms are just clear to my team and sounds amazing. the only downfall about it is comfort, if you have a big head like me..it might get a tad painful behind my earlobes after 2 hours of gaming. Other than that, they are built like a tank and looks stealthy and classy. 9/10 i would say. Love them
What’s the name of the headphones I need em
@@theboyyoung3320 Corsair Virtuoso
How's your batterie life?
Went to Best Buy and picked up a set after watching this review and they’re everything I wanted in a PC headset. It’s a bummer that the white headset doesn’t come with a carrying bag, but I didn’t plan on leaving my desk with them anyways. They’re subtle with the white and gray but an appropriate amount of flashy with the RGB. It also helps that you can do a solid color if you don’t really want the whole rainbow transition thing. I like that in one headset you can do USB wireless, wired USB and 3.5mm headphone jack. Leaving me with a lot of options for use. Not sure what the mic quality is like though because I use an external microphone. They also feel nonexistent on your head, my last headset gave me a bit of a headache if I used it longer than 2 hours.
i like them overall but how don't you feel them on your head? the top beging to drill into my skull after like an hour
@@erdniealinik I have really thick hair, so that might be why.
How long does the battery live in wireless mode?
When I saw CORSAIR,my other kidney STARTED SHOWING TEARS.
You just need to find a space for a dialysis machine beside your PC and all your corsair peripherals :)
I just ordered a set after watching this video. Thanks for the review.
How do u like em? Only 2 things I don't like is the lack of bluetooth and the fact my ears touch the drivers...otherwise they're great all around headphones
@@AcesMR6 i looking into buy these, are the comms good and how about in game. Great sounds or decent for wireless
Jay should do MORE unboxing/reviews, this was actually very pleasant... I love it , when HE loves it, (The product on the table) because his inner kid-like passion comes out...
Looks like these are made by Audio Technica and if they are then that's good. They look similar to DSR7BT and DSR9BT which I own. Both 7 and 9 are ear cooking experiences at long extended hours of use. Very detailed sound which I use them mostly for music. In a gaming setting it gives you a nice sense of space and environment with no ridiculous amount of bass to muddy up your experience.
3:56 "I feel less stupid" then pullout that face xD Dat made my day lol
Hey there! I watch other reviews of this headset and various of them said the smaller NON SE mic, its far better than the big one in the SE version. Whats your opinion on that? Thanks
I bought the Non-se, non-xt version in black earlier this year. Whenever I talk to anyone in a Discord call for the first time, some people are convinced that I'm using a stand-alone USB microphone. Which is a huge compliment to the quality of the mic itself.
I have the Logitech g pro x, and when you turn on “blue voice filter” in Logitech ghub, they’re convinced I’m using a studio mic
"loosing in arena in warcraft" I really felt that...
Same.

@@Oh_its_Mike hey man I'm r1 too!!
@@IpadLaser Nice dude. Unfortunately WoW sucked me back in lmao
Would love to see the difference in both mic, seems people is saying the non-SE mic is better.
Aizal hardware Canuck did a compare of the two.
@@Wawasjohn Yeah, I watched the review over HarwareCanucks before watching this, although would be nice to see that part of review from a different perspective.
IT IS TRUE
Its true, I had a Virtuoso non-se but I returned them back because problem with comfort. They do not sit well on my ears after 10 minutes, they create strain and its just an unpleasent experience, such a shame when the rest of the headset is quite good. But as with the deal on the mic, yeah its true it sounds more clear and has a nice crispness to it. Hardwarecanucks also pointed out theres issues with the comfort.
Yeah this review wasn't really that informative... Hardware Canucks did a much better job in a shorter video. It blows my mind that you wouldn't compare the mics when they look so different
3:54 "when I put these on, I feel less stupid." And then you give us literally the stupidest face anyone can have. LOL I love you man..
I know this review is quite dated, but I've been looking for a solid pair of wireless headphones in the $200 range and seeing this review made me realize that I really wanted something like these. Simple in appearance, but amazing when being used AND still 3.5mm wired compatible in case I want them to be. Thank you for this. honestly for a pair of headphones that are coming up on 2 years of being made, I'm still blown away how nice they seem to be.
18:39 "if ya want glowey then there you go" dont know why but his saying that phrase with that side look, crooked head, and crazy eyes just makes me laugh lol.
It would be awesome if a dev team at Corsair would invite you to come design and test a headset with them. After trying out and owning several of the headsets that you reviewed, I have a feeling that if you got together with Corsair and pointed them in the right direction that the "100% of what [you're] looking" for would be the same as my 100%. Also, I'd be curious as to what you think of the Arctis 7s.
"DO YOU SEE HOW STUPID THESE LOOK?!?" had me dying! lol so funny.
Jon Revels I actually laughed out loud
I want to like your comment but I want to keep it at 69
i laughed too because i have the sennheiser gsp550 which are open back wired headphones and the mic is actually amazing. I bought a pc cable for them (the pink and green 3.5mm cable) so i can run them through my creative soundblasterx ae-5 soundcard which makes them alot louder (they were a little too quiet for my liking) anyways long story short, they look pretty much identical to those sennheiser headphones except they have a wire and when he said "who's head is this shape?" i was like "mine" lmao
I laughed so damn hard LOL
@@profanity4360 Yeah you can even on switch
I just bought these and Im really glad to see good reviews on them, I got a little trigger appy because they look so slick I just bought em and they haven't come in yet. The only thing Im worried about is the leather ripping and peeling over time. Im hoping that was an early design flaw that has since been fixed, I will be super shitty if I come back in a year and have to buy a new pair.
Thanks for the review Jay, after about a year of owning these they are still working great! I am very glad I picked these up after your review.
so ive read in forums that there are several issues with this headset. i have mine coming in a couple of days from now. so, are you experiencing issues with the headset so far?
@@lawtan6690 I haven't ran into really any issues with this head set. I did have a short time where the wireless wasn't working but all i needed to do to fix it was re-plug in the dongle. this issue hasn't happened in some time so it might have been a driver issue and has now been resolved with the icue software?
@@maxtollefson3575 oh ok then, thank you very much for your response hehe
Your choice of headset (preferably with 3.5mm audio jack) + v moda boom pro mic = my definition of a perfect gaming headset.
No side tone. This is extremely important to certain people.
Your timing was perfect, I was looking for a new headset, I just ordered the SE version and yes I made sure to use your link so you would get credit. Thanks for all you do, they will be here on Tuesday.
You should have ordered the non SE(aka premium)ones bc they have better mic quality
So far my favorite headphones. I use the 3.5 when I am on a DAC for audio production mostly. With asio4all/asiopro the wireless works well if I want to turn to my keyboard and just play some music. .... So alot of people are having the issue of continuous red flashing, I have been having that myself. If it dose that, it's in boot mode. The driver board is still getting a charge. The mute button has another use as well. Fix for those of you having this flashing issue (requires you to take the charger side earpiece off). Tube that to see how unless you know. Take that sides cover off, flip the set to wired, hold the mute button for about 15 seconds, unplug the battery. Plug the battery back in and you will be back in business. As Jay was saying which I think most of us can agree with is that software should be looked into a bit further. Regardless, still a great headset.
For the most part the hiccup has to do with the firmware update.
I used to have a Corsair Vengeance 1500 which I wore a lot, as for me the key feature is comfort, as the 1500 were really comfortable. When I build another PC in a couple of years as a retirement project, I want a wireless headset, so IF I don't get a Logitech G533 - it has 5 * reviews, I might purchase either this white version or the other one.
I had the Virtuoso SE and the ear cups+head band were painful after 10 minutes. But the headset was loud enough for competitive FPS. Switched to the HyperX Cloud Flight wireless setup and they're just as loud, and waaaaay more comfortable and at a better price. I'm sold on HyperX for life
"Yeah, im kinda boring." I felt that😂
Same 😂
I am currently using the Razer Kraken TE 7.1, and can also agree with the cable placement - hits my shoulder and that sound goes all the way into the headset.
9:01 I've searched for months for this word: side tone, Thank you finally I maybe can fix my headset
Just wanna give anyone with super large heads a "heads up" that the virtuoso line is pretty much a no go in terms of size. Every other headphone I own fits me on the largest headband setting (V moda M-100*just barely* , SHP9500, AKG K553 MKII, Sivga SV021, and Soundcore Q30) but these are nowhere near large enough even on the largest headband adjustment. I had to return them because of this.
Thanks for the review! I was looking at some Sein. ones but this one looks great (I have to use them for meetings) and with a better mic, its a win win.
I had the same encounter with the wired problem that jay mentioned, but when u turn wireless mode and turn back on wired mode it fixes everything. Glad i watched the video. Tnx jay
Well, I’m buying them. Decision made. Sounds much better in terms of mic quality than all competitors I’ve seen, which is the main thing I’m looking for, has a wired mode which is awesome, and they look great!
Honestly, because we are talking wireless, with most the quality emphasis being on the mic; I would like to see a comparison with the newest ModMic wireless mic. Because, honestly; you can use any headphone you want then, wireless or not. It's also placeable on either side of your head and they are priced ok. I know people swear by the wired versions, so it might be worth a shot.
I COMPLETELY agree - in fact, I would like to see a comparison of, say, the "top 3 wireless gaming headsets"(or just whatever Jay has experience with at least) VS a premium set of over-ear headphones + a ModMic(the total of the 'phones + Mic being similar to the cost of the gaming headsets of course) Would be VERY interesting...
vMODA makes an inline mic for detachable headphone cable capable headphones. I have been using it for years and people respond favorably to them onliine. I have them paired with the Philips SHP-9500's open back headphones for a total combo cost of about 100 dollars.
I also have the Sennheiser Gaming One headset which is nearly as comfortable and is nice and light. I am looking for a stand alone wireless option though so I am looking around.
@@joshuasterling2144 yeah I'd sell those. Get yourself a cheap used pair of Audio Technica AD700x or something and be done. Best sound you'll get for the money and then pic a mic of your choosing
I already had the Sony WH1000XM3 for my daily commute. I use those with a mod mic wireless to fantastic results. I get that my set up is a lot more expensive than most "gaming" headsets, but I got the mod mic wireless several months after the headphones. I think the primary appeal of the mod mic is you can use it with whatever headphones you like. wired, wireless, cheap, expensive. Everyone's head and ears are different. I think it's better to get good quality individual products rather than trying to find an all in one solution that checks all the boxes. literally the same difference as buying pre-built or boutique PCs vs building your own.
I'm also on the hunt for the perfect wireless headset. Got my eyes on the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless, I would appreciate a lot a review on them!
I’m having a really hard time setting mine up.
watching this and listening to this with my Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE. lol. Love them and have had them quite several months, absolutely love them.
"Whos Head is This Shape?" I dunno why, but suddenly I laugh at that.. Haha
Corsair virtuoso RGB wireless SE and non-se are the names of these headphones
Bowling?
4:10 "there's also stuff in there with words on it." It's like who reads those anyways! LOL
They usually break a little higher up for me, in my experience. The only headphones I've ever had that broke were some Razer headphones. They crack right on the length adjuster, cause of the thin plastic, and because they sit so tight to your head that you have to be extremely careful to not ruin them. Went through 4 Krakens in a row, getting them replaced everytime they broke untill I just got enough and went with the standard Voids, untill my cable eroded somehow, and then went with Elites, which by the way.. DO NOT BUY THE ELITES. These are the most miserable feckin things I've ever owned. They turn off on their own at random, even though the software indicates they're at full power, and you've made extra extra extra sure that the option for them to automatically turn off, is unselected.
What about this model?
Why does the cheaper one have the better mic? Did Corsair accidentally swap mics in the boxes?
YA
I’ve used a pair of these, the sound quality sounds better then they show in this video
they fixed the mic quality with a software update and it sounds slightly better then the non se mic now
@@akariakaza2642 thats because they updated the software in the headset
@@DJ-Vixo thanks for letting me know about the new update for the SE mic, I'm really looking into these
Watching this on my Virtuoso. Got it today and I'm already in love. It is THAT good!
can you use bluetooth with a phone so if i wanted to use them wirelessly with my iphone?
RR Lynx no. Sadly not... only 2.4Ghz over the dongle. You can only use them wired with a phone.
I love that when I'm searching for tech reviews, 9/10 times Jay has a video out for it, or containing it. Keep it up dude!
Also another reviewer, I think provoked prawn, tried usb c to usb c on his phone and it worked.
Hey do you know if this is compatible with the ps4 pro? I just received it and it says compatible even thoe it says it does on the box.
@@JohnjOcampo No clue... PC master race....
@@JohnjOcampo I just bought a pair of the SE version since my last message. In the manual it say it works with the pro. Also says in regards to ps4/pro "...connect the USB transmitter to any USB port on playstation 4 or playstation 4 pro console."
I just got a pair for my birthday. I was having a slight issue upon first use with some static feed back. I followed tbe troubleshooting guide to avail. I took inspiration from Jay and tried some things on my own. Turns out the headphones when wired so not like the 2.0 USB jack. Swapped it to 3.0 and it rocks.
Hey Jay, I feel like there's quite a bit of info you got wrong here. It's almost as if you didn't even look at any of the technical specs listed on their website. For starters: Wireless and Auxilarry support 20hz-48,000hz in 16 bit audio, but while connected in USB mode, you get 20hz-96,000hz in 24 bit audio. The microphone is also slightly different on the SE version. The non SE version has a 4mm capsule size while the SE version has 9.5mm size. The sensitivity on the non SE is -40dB and on the SE version is -42dB.
@Dux Ad Regnum If you're lucky and have good hearing and are 10 year old. If you are let's say 20 year old then you're lucky if you can hear up to 17000Hz. Also most audiophile headphones go over 20000Hz(or 20KHz) because if I'm not wrong the end of frequency range sounds a bit worse, and if that part is the part you don't hear then it sounds good across all frequencies.
Guys his point was the difference between plugged in and wireless
@Dux Ad Regnum I'm not sure about audio play back and also depends on the person, but I have seen a review of these where the mic test included both wired and wireless and the wired sound was exactly the same as the guys stand alone mic. Hope that answers clearly enough
@@kjkardum you're all focusing on the wrong thing. The difference between 16 bit audio and 24 bit audio is noticable if you do have good ears. If you don't have good ears, these aren't the headset for you in the first place.
@@GreenByte7 I actually have m40x and I can quite tell the difference in quality compared to other headsets I tried, and these are wired so bitrate is based on device you're playing it from and most people can't tell difference when changing bitrate to better than default and these are a lot better headphones than the ones in the video. What matters is mostly driver quality, frequency response impedance and similar stuff, less important is bitrate and quality of media you are playing(if it's average MP3 320kpbs or if it's better(flac) and not some super shit 150+kpbs), on wireless ones which usually have a lot inferior sound for bigger price it can make small difference but usually not important. Actually why are we really talking about sound quality on *wireless GAMING* headset when 300$ wireless gaming headsets are worse than 100$ wired headphones in sound quality
A year and a half after, I watch this video again because my headset finally scks and I'm curious of listening to your review again about this headset.
I’m a casual audiophile and was really impressed with these especially over Logitech 935’s I had before
if you'd be an actual audiophile you wouldnt even watch videos about gaming headsets :D
Imo the positioning of the wires is fine. I use the headphone jack to plug into my mic (blue yeti)for being able to hear my voice/things around me. Due to the fairly long lasting battery, I’m not left having to keep them plugged in often. I think they’re more intended to be used in a streamer setting, rather than just what your casual console or even pc gamer might be using.
Jay : *Breathes* Phil : *Dies of laughter*
Phil is kinda annoying
thats how the "camera guy role" works. Many youtube channels do that, you edit the video with some "outtakes" to make it seem more like you're watching friends hangin out, I find it annoying but this is still a great channel outside of that. Thankfully Jay's videos are mostly informative, but some channels do that AND sell you stuff every 5 minutes.

The Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphone is leagues better then anything. check DMS , BadSeed Tech and the Z Reviews (Drop+THX Panda _(Z Reviews)_ PLANAR + THX + MAGIC + TUNING + COMFORT + BLUETOOTH5 + $400 = PANDA) it is the best one and you can use a (recommended) THX amp to power it directly so you do not have delay in games because the 3.5mm bypases the internal THX,AAA-DAC-AMP.
The scroll wheel isn't laggy, it takes a bit to change volume because they made it that way so you don't accidentally change volume if you lean your head back against your chair, like me. Had that problem with a lot of other headsets.
I was expecting some kind of roasting, but you got me wrong there. I've had the "cheap" version for about a year now, and I love them. The sound is really good!

Cars, computers, guns. They 21st century man.
About to be on my 3rd one. First one was great, and the battery lasted forever. Had a build quality issue. Corsair changed it out super fast. Brand new didn’t hold a charge. Again Corsair changed it out with no issue. Played about four hours and boom it just died. No low battery warning just dead.
If they added the ability for bluetooth dual connection, I would absolutely buy these immediately. One thing that Steelseries has that has kept me buying them is... the ability to have my USB wireless connection through their dac, with an 3.5mm input, and a bluetooth input all running simultaneously. The reason I like this so much is I can listen to my computer through the USB wireless, plug in my GoXLR through the dac, and then on top of that listen to my TV through the bluetooth option. It's amazing, and I wish more headsets had this option, because at the end of the day the one thing steelseries doesn't do well, is their microphones. I absolutely hate the steelseries microphones, but I cant find a headset that has the features they have.
the XT version has bluetooth but is $100 more

My wife bought me the HS70 by accident last year through Amazon. She did an awesome job lol!! These headphones are awesome. The sound quality is damm good too. You can hear footsteps really well. Only problem i have with them is the mic. They keep going out on me. I'm currently on my 3rd pair and since my son is using them for online distant learning I took to Amazon and got their deal on the Arctis Pro wireless for $210!!
Jay, have you checked out the Audio Technica ATH-G1WL? I've been testing a few wireless headsets lately and these are the only ones I've found that have as good a mic as the Virtuoso. They are also more comfortable for me and have no software at all to control them. Might be worth giving them a try. I keep going back and forth between the Virtuoso and the G1WL. Biggest complaint for me with the virtuoso is they push on the top of my head and are quite uncomfortable. Have a new pad I'm going to try adding the the Virtuoso to see if that helps. Others I've tested Steelseries Arctis 7 (most comfortable but mic was very compressed and the bass response was poor while listening) Blackshark v2 Wireless (better bass response and overall sound than the Arctis 7 and a slightly fuller mic sound)
"there's stuff in there with words on it" Jay you are hilarious. You take a relatively boring subject and make it interesting and informative. Cheers

Razer sells a set that has a notch for glasses not sure what Nari version it was. Nari Ultinayes have them i sold a few lairs not sure if the Nari normal version has the notch
I justed ordered these headphones so it should arrive shortly. I wear glasses so I will let you know if they will work or not
ShinyBakaTaka I feel like you are compromising on the wrong product, maybe look at application specific (thin) frames... tell insurance it’s medically relevant. I’m sure they’ll believe you.
I'm using the steel series actis 3's, and they do not squeeze much at all,
I have a pair of Philips X2 Fidelio and it’s comfortable to a point I couldn’t feel it on my ears with glasses on (picked it up when it was on sale for like 100$)
I would highly recommend these as well. I honestly bought them because I liked the white but damn they sound good and the mic is great for chatting and streaming.
Question what is the difference between the SE headset and the standard one
@@user-tl5lw8oc1h The se is just a little bit better with better finish materials and a slightly better mic
@@bb6279 thanks
I got the SE version of these. Ears touch the drivers, sound is tinny no matter what settings I use in iCUE, headband padding is so thin that it only touches my head at the middle point, so it has uncomfortable pressure. Compared it directly to my 3-year-old Corsair VOID headset which costs 1/3 as much, and sound quality on the VOID was twice as good, and the VOID is much more comfortable.
Got me with the title hook line and sinker. 😁
I love fishing references
10:44 I recommend miniDSP EARS for headset testing.
Corsair void pro wireless I been using for years quility is amazing
I’m perfectly satisfied with the official Xbox wireless headset. With dual pairing it can pair to the proprietary Xbox or regular Bluetooth. Can be used for music, wireless calls with your phone, or your pc for gaming. Provides noise canceling and rich deep bass with volume and mixer controls. Has a mic mute button for those sudden bathroom calls 🤣🤣🤣 turns off automatically when not in use.
Cool story bro.
Have you tried the smaller mic yet? I've seen other reviews that have said that sounds better than the mic on the more expensive unit.
Yeah! I bought them and I've yet to try the mic, but in HardwareCanuck's review, they sound AMAZING
The universe has conspired. KZhead recommended you to me. ❤️
so naive.
These are fine if you dont care about low frequency (bass). Since it sounded it little worse in low than my old hyper x cloud 2s. I really wanted one because they are designed well and the clarity is good but, without the lows it hurts my ears so i decided not to get them. I did get a set of sennheiser gsp 500s tho. The lows are fantastic with these for the price. Now they have an updated driver version of mine with the pc38x.
I tried the Corsair VOID before I bought my Logitech Artemis, and I did not the way they sounded. The VOIDs sounded like super hollow and far away. The logitechs I've had for almost 3 years now and no complaints at all but battery life. But these new Corsair headsets look pleasing and I definitely want to try them out
I just got this right now. sound is loud. love it..
But is the sound quality really good? For music?
“I’ve got nothing but good things to say about it” “Buuut the software kinda sucks”
Pedrogonzalez and the price tag
I mean, he didn't lie, nothing bad to say about the headset itself. Lol.
dunno man look kinda like all big manufacturer have great products but they give 0 F*CKS about the software ... like write 10 command so it can look that do something ... aaand thats it
That's a generous description of iCUE. Some versions of it are more accurately described as "Literally malware that bricks Windows"
Its a good thing we don't even need the software then.
When I was a console gamer about 3 years ago, I used to go through headphones on a yearly basis. Turtle Beach, Astros, you name it. All $100 or more. The day I made the jump to pc gaming, I picked up a pair of Corsair Void Pro's, and a 2 year warranty (because I was certain they'd break after a year like all the rest). They didn't. Truth be told, they're not even on their last legs. I probably use them on average for 8 hours a day. I constantly find myself wanting to upgrade, though... to the Virtuoso's but can't bring myself to it, because these headphones still work perfectly fine.
I've had these for about a year now and they sound great, mic quality is ok, not recommended for long term use as they are very uncomfortable. Mainly the headband and the ear cups are round.
