On a tiny platform situated over 689 feet (210 meters) into the air, images and video of the famed Dubai SkyCourt have been seen and discussed by millions since that fateful day. Very few have actually ever heard the insane backstory behind the match... well, until today that is.

If you were given $1,000,000 to play a REAL, COMPETITIVE match on this court… would you do it??
People who love cult tennis ⬇
i would but my tactic is to be as close to the net as possible. lol
Yes
I would just play with the most top spin possible and i would win ez
For One Million Dollar I Would Even Play At Top Of The Everest
It would take so many balls to play there , literally and figuratively
Where are all those tennis balls landing?
Underrated comment🤣
@J G what are you going on about?

@J G wtf is soccer?
Having grown up watching YuGiOh anime duels, this whole scenario makes total sense to me.
Yoooo same
Damn you just reminded me of YuGiOh that I watched just about 1-2 years ago
Imagine Agassi threatening to jump off if Federer didn’t let him win
was thinking of Utena duels but either way that's some anime shit
@@gnochhuos645 Kaiba just do it already.
Nah, it was Agassi who was scared of heights. It's pretty clear from the video. He had to lie down, just to look over the edge. And look how casually Federer strolls to the edge, while Agassi shuffled tentatively. But I wouldn't say either of them had a phobia. Just a perfectly sane caution about falling to their death.
Couldn't get me up there for any amount...My knees turn to oatmeal just looking at it!
I had to lay on the floor just to watch the video.
@@nikkimcdonald4562 My feet turn to jelly!
I can't even peer over high floor balconies, or even approach them, and they've got full, solid railings.
yeah if it was actual phobia no amount of money could get him up there, and when he was up there he would not even be able to stand.
For anyone wondering, the terminal velocity of a tennis ball (the maximum speed at which it can consistently fall through the air) seems to be about 75-100 km/h, which is much slower than a serve or even light groundstroke, so the balls falling off the platform wouldn't hurt anyone or break/dent anything.
@J G What does that have to do with what they said??
@@cemantical lmao my thoughts exactly xD
@J G ?
@@callumjb7668 they do it to every channel about sports I think because I saw them on basketball vids
@J G Lmao. If Soccer ever beats out Baseball or Football in the United States I’ll personally eat my shoes.
The ball boy has a life or death situation here
I am genuinely baffled how much of a business genius Federer is. The helicopter shots definitely made the footage that much better.
Judge and amateur tennis enthusiast Malcolm Lee died of a heart attack while playing tennis at a Birmingham club. Birmingham club tennis fatalities: 1 Dubai sky-court fatalities:0 Looks like there's a new deadlist court in town.
That awkward moment when the “Worlds deadliest tennis court” has recorded 0 deaths….😂
yeah cause of the massive net around it and the fact that if you fall over you are far from the edge
seriously, I just scrolled down to see if anybody even mentioned that he covered NOTHING about people dying there. wtf.. lame content.
Maybe “most dangerous” is what he should’ve used. It can’t be deadly if no one has died there ..
Of course it has 0 deaths, no one plays there, just the exhibition match between Agassi and Federer. And by the why the court has no security nets The wind moves Federer's hair, the windy conditions up there surely makes it difficult to play kzhead.info/sun/q7WvldeogH6lrIk/bejne.html

7:46 This fits well with your video about Federers business decisions. Seems like he always had a feeling for how to make something even more successful
definitely the most intelligent tennis player, both on and off court
I actually love this channel! I remember coming across many things such as this, blue courts, split surface courts and even Federer endorsement change as a kid and would always wonder why these events aren’t shined on and talked about more. And that’s what cult tennis is doing making me see myself as apart of this channel and it’s videos making me so excited every time there is an upload
This is a great channel. I don’t even watch tennis, but the backstories are well told and well-produced. 👏🏽
I remember this happening after the '05 Aus Open. Was insane to see it!
Hey Cam! love your live streams
We need you man! I enjoy watching your videos so much. Hope you come back. Editing is really on point and the content is so fascinating and amusing. Thanks for your effort!
I have been watching you from the start and I just wanted to say thanks for all the content you provide me with. Being a junior professional myself, I love watching your videos when I have the spare time, and your videos convey the amount of love and respect you have for the game. Thanks once again
Great video man! I really love how well-edited, and well-made your videos are!
Thank you!
Oh I heard about this match when I was a kid, but had no idea about the background story behind it or how much of an effect it had on the sport! Very interesting. Also now you have a legendary choice of soundtracks in the background in addition to the legendary editing. Wow! P.S: loved that little bit of Arabic translation in the beginning 😂
Im a fan
But there is a safety net around the boarder. And you never got to the part about someone dying.
There’s another promo video by Barilla where Roger plays with some fans across buildings. He surprised both of them by going to their hometown in Italy and having a friendly ball exchange on rooftops of two separate buildings. Then proceeded to have lunch (pasta of course) with the two girls. This was during Covid-19. Wonderful gesture by Roger.
All your videos are really amazing and educating, keep up the good work man....
Trust me none of them had height phobia. If you truly had height phobia there's not enough money in the world to make you go up there, let alone play
"The stands are too empty, fill them" Homie got rid of the stands entirely lmao
Is the the north to west facing tennis court idea because of the sun rise/fall
North south allows fairness in outdoor conditions while east and west can put a specific end of the court at an unfair advantage due to how strong the sun is in a particular time of day.
I'm comming over to drop a like I forgot the first time I watched it. What a contentent on this channel! You are doing an amazing job. I have a suggestion for the topic of one of your next videos. Novak Đoković is leading a major change when it comes to proffesional tennis organizational structures with the establishment of PTPA. I think this is quite in tune with what you are covering here. A lot of tennis fans now close to nothing about how the tour is organized and how unfair the revenue distribution happen to be. I believe you have the capacity to cover this in dept, based on what you have done so far. Best of luk and I'm looking forward to more videos from you.
i remember seeing this when i was little! ofcourse i had no idea about the background events that lead to it, just that it was something i saw on the news while my grandma fretted over her "precious son" federer possibly falling (she was worried for agassi too, she just adores federer a lot more :P)
i fucking love this channel never played tennis never watched a match of tennis but your videos are making me a total fan planning on taking my nephew out to try the sport!

If they asked Medvedev to play on this court he would have died

1:15 glad to see Cities: Skylines being used more and more as a modeling program 😁
I don't know shit about tennis but I'm on a KZhead tennis binge...help!
Thx for your videos! In terms of Nebula, I've tried it before (some KZheadr mentioned it as well) and what I didn't like was that it didn't mark videos I've already watched on it, in any way and neither gave me a section of related videos to watch... Seems like the creators of the platform didn't think it through very well, in terms of usability for consumers. I mean think about it, after watching one video, wouldn't you be more likely to pick from 3 or more of other similar videos next to it or would you click back and start browsing all over again, which option is easier? So because of this psychological barrier at taking more brain power and effort to use - I don't see Nebula thrive until they at least integrate these two very easy to implement features, that are on almost every platform, app and website, and for this very reason - keep the users use their platform. Unless of course, hosting and bandwidth costs are a factor, than it perfectly makes sense why Nebula wouldn't want people to watch more of their videos, at a cost of losing consumers as a side effect. Anyway I hope you know someone that could look into it, if Nebula's success matters. Thanks and good luck! ;)
im not interested in tennis, but i can assure you you're an amazing content creator and the ad you made is something i've never seen before on youtube, and been here for 10 years everyday
I've played on this very court....in VR. One of the more memorable VR experiences I've had.
woah that’s cool! Do you know how i could play that also? i have a VR and that sounds crazy!!
I went to space in vr!
VR??? Is not reality. Who cares!! Anything anyone can be VR….
Not with out WiFi 🤪
@@LK-cv3hr virtual reality isn’t reality, you’re right, but we can simulate experiences with it which is probably more fun than never trying at all
Incredible video, I remember watching this when I was 15. Wild.
Just seeing the images made me nervous. I can't event imagine playing on such a court.
I don't have a fear of heights, but it would take a lot of convincing to get me up there without some sort of harness.
Please do a video on the injury-stricken career of Juan Martin Del Potro. It would be really interesting!
That may be sad. He’s a lot of fans favorite player.
Speaking of Delpo, does anybody know when he will be back to the tour?
@@mysterious5019 I think he needs to hang it up and focus on something else. He's going to get injured again and deep down, he knows that too.
So there is actually a plaque on the wall of one of the rooms inside of the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, England (where Wimbledon qualifying takes place - this room is actually used as the drug testing room for the qualifying tournament) which has the full story of this event. If I remember correctly the whole stunt was sponsored by Emirates and they were actually only on the airpad for about 14 minutes. I'll try and take a picture at next years quallies.
This makes sense. If they were not playing an actual game, just lobbing a few balls at each other for the photos and videos, the danger is much lover as they won't be running backward over the edge while focusing on the ball.
@@57thorns also, no person who isn't literally insane would actually want to try a proper match on these courts lmfao even if you stuck at the baseline, near the corners of the court are the edges of the literal platform, so there's no space to run on
The editing is the best I've seen. And the information flow 👌
Thank you!!!
Hi, amazing video! How do you create these videos? Where do you get the stock footage? Thanks and keep going ☺️ 💪
You're the GOAT of tennis chanels in KZhead. I really enjoy your videos

Your animations are so clean. Incredible well made video. Must have taken forever!
Just watching them play at that elevation without a proper fence is making my feet sweat...
The video editing was nearer the gods, no mortal may approach.

Real question: Where is Peng Shuai?
Idk it's scary
@@ismaeelbutt3902 What's even scarier to me is that democracies are still willing to send their athletes to compete at the Olympics there.
Is this why Federer rarely play in Acapulco?
whooooow man how do edit like that? This is amazing! May I ask which software do you use?
As much as I am a fan of tennis, the editing that goes into these tennis videos is remarkable
So was this done during AA’s speed experience and did he line ‘em up to conquer his fear of heights?
Please make a video about peng shuai. It is the most important news in tennis and sport today and I worry it isn’t making enough of a splash.

Proud to say, been here since the very 1st video, very interesting and fun content
The area around the tennis court is actually pretty big. A lot less dangerous than it looks.

Love the content!
The way Agassi holds his racquet when they get on the elevator is a whole vibe.
That looks cool but probably really unpractical. Tennis balls falling off the court, not to mention just the stronger winds there might interfeer with the ball a lot.

I remember now watching this at the age of 6 on Dubai Sports (with the awkward acting scene as well). I had completely forgotten about it.
I’ve seen pictures of that match for over a decade and always assumed it was photoshopped 😂 that’s wild
I would say being underneath it is more dangerous when you get hit by a tennis ball from a skyscraper.
"With no fencing or safety boundaries." Meanwhile video of court with safety barriers surrounding it plays on screen.
Just joined Curiosity Stream, thanks for the info!
your videos are sooooo good
There’s very clearly a safety net in all the footage and photos… It’s even highlighted in the photos you use in this video that you edited
There’s clearly a safety net around the perimeter

I do remember seeing this and your right it was probably the first viral tennis video that I remember and still remember to tjis daya
Actually I believe Monica Seles played on a “way more close to deadly” tennis court in comparison.
Yup, this was definitely pretty cool as a Dubaiyyan.

While not the same thing,Federer must have been used to heights hiking in the Swiss Alps
Hiking up a safe trail with railings and distance from the edge is different to jumping or climbing up a wall.
2:03 There is clearly a safety net. I would consider that a "safety boundary."
I made the same comment. This channel is LAME!
Playing on this court is on the top of my tennis bucket list along with going to Nadal’s clinic in Mallorca.
great video man, would you mind sharing the name of the misterious music at the beginning of the episode, thanks!
So no one died? Really fucking annoying clickbait, you literally say "this exact scenario actually played out" just as the video shows an animated player falling to their death. Are you kidding?
use youtube vanced
It certainly worked, given how iconic that tennis court became you'd hardly believe it was a tenporary fixture
This video made my feet hurt within 10 seconds. Whenever heights are invoked in my mind my feet start throbbing uncontrollably.
They could have at least set up a safety net and a collection funnel beneath the net around the tennis court in order to retrieve balls and keep players from falling to their deaths.
Make a Video about the Peng Shuai situation.
It would be cool if they could tilt the court. That would make for an interesting game.
As usual, banger from cult tennis
Amazing video. Count me as new fan of this channel.
