Because they kill tons of natural wildlife every year. They are a menace. They serve no purpose whereas dogs are productive members of society via the police, military, seeing eye dogs, etc. Dogs are also altruistic by nature and will protect whom its loyal to. Cats are generally inherently selfish. They are little better than rodents.

TheRudydog1 I've seen the excuse that people don't like cats because all the ones they've met have been "vicious". I say they just haven't met enough cats, or that the cats hated them for good reason. Most of the cats (except one who was only friendly to her owner), have been very friendly, or at least respectful. Some were too shy to get close to, but they were never aggressive. So yeah, cats can be aggressive, but that doesn't make all of them aggressive, so that shouldn't be a valid excuse not to like cats.

lestki I wish every animal on this planet had it this good. Many are abused, tortured, killed and they have no voice to tell us so. I have a cat and love her beyond words and I think about all those poor animals who get abused and it's heartbreaking!
