This video was created by my nephews FF14 guild Ishgard Fight Club for his passing. I am posting it on my channel because it is truly beautiful what they did for him.
Was a pleasure to have known him and had him in my FC. He was a great guy. Little update, his character model is now a retainer in our yard, so he can always be with us and explore new lands in Dawntrail. If you want to see him in the game, he is at our FC house on primal leviathan. Thank you guys for saying the ceremony was beautiful im the one walking in the video it was a pleasure to have the privilege to say goodbye to him this way. - Gamer'dad Naru
That is wonderful! Last I heard you guys were going to try and immortalize his house as well. Wayne (Tea Thyme) was such a special person and didn't deserve the fate he got. Its gong to be a real tough passing to get over :'(
I'm on Leviathan as well. Have been since day 1 ARR. I'm just coming back after a 1 yr hiatus though. I would've been there in a heartbeat for this just to add to the numbers and the gravity of this kind gesture. My condolences man, be strong for your nephew and for you. I doubt he'd want it any other way

His gravestone is in coerthas its Haurchefants grave so you have to beat HW to see the stone. But its in the upper corner of the map in central highlands @Pand3miCSK
I have no idea about who passed away, or this fc at all, but seeing this tribute made for him is beautiful. This is the type of stuff that separates ffxiv and its community from other mmos imo. This game has soul. So much of it.
I have to agree with you as someone who plays World of Warcraft... there seems to be no compassion over there. I've honestly considered trying out FF14!
@@JDIronBeard I honestly recommend you go into FFXIV for sure, and if you would want to encounter me in the game and have a friend to help you on questing and such, look for me in Ultros. My character's name is just like my KZhead name.
Even as a person who has never played FF14 I look at it with such reverence because it's become popular enough to be more of a platform than just an MMO. Like any videogame, it can be seen as just a series or mechanics and systems, but FF14 also allows so much player-expression to make stuff like this ceremony possible. Just a bunch of people doing something beautiful for a person they loved.

I stopped by your FC house to pay respects, but I thought it might be too much, too soon to send a whisper. I've been on FF since day one, and I remember running into Tea a few times, and once very recently. I just want to say, that it is always a very strange feeling when someone you love, know, or grew up with is no longer around. No one needs me to say that it hurts beyond words. I sincerely pray for all of his loved ones, to be filled with warmth, strength, and peace. May we all be kind to each other, as he was for us, because we have no way of knowing tomorrow.

This video popped up in my recommended and now I'm crying over a person I didn't know existed 20 minutes ago. This community is amazing and this video is a prime display of that; I'm so glad that everyone got to have some closure and that you all came together to do something special for your nephew. As a FF14 player, I can see that Wayne was the kind of person that caused a good and positive impact in the community around him, the kind of person that is going to be dearly missed by those who knew him. One of my friends passed earlier this year. We played on different data centers so we never had the opportunity to play together, but I'm so so saddened that he can never know the end of Endwalker, nor can he experience Dawntrail anymore... I still send messages in his DMs on discord and "keep him up to date" on everything. He was a gentle soul who touched many others with his kindness. I'm sorry for your loss, may he fly high and may you one day only keep the good memories you had with him

Losing not only an FC mate, but a good friend and family member, would break me. We form bonds in this game that some people who don’t experience it wouldn’t understand. I am so so sorry for your loss. I have no idea how this was recommended to me (it's probably because I play 14 too) but this---this hit me. It's so obvious how much your nephew was loved by this community, this group and how good an impact he had on them. People say a lot how online doesn't matter, because it's not real life(but we all know it is, it's just different). I hope one day that perspective changes. Because I can see how much it mattered to them. How his outlook and actions made their group better, stronger, and changing lives and brightening days, doesn't just have to be offline. This must have been hard to see and watch, I am in tears, but I hope it brought some comfort too. Oddly enough, this makes me feel a little lighter today. People remember the good things we do, the little times we lift them up. Sincerest wishes for family and friends alike. Sincerest condolences from Ragnarok. FFXIV is such an important game for reasons like this. The bonds people share, even if they’re eventually lost or forgotten, still matter greatly *because* they happened. Some people might look at this and find it silly, or nonsensical, but I have no doubt a gesture like this is exactly what your nephew would’ve wanted. Your Nephew sounds like such a genuinely pure hearted dude, wouldve loved to have played some roulettes or raids with him. Sorry for your loss, I didn't know him myself but as a person who also plays this game, I'll just say it's sad to see a fellow Warrior of Light go. This community continues to surprise me with their dedication to others. I've been playing this game since 2010 but didn't become a regular until 2016 while I was between jobs at the time.

This truly touched my heart my daughter passed in Jan this year. My son and I have changed our fc in her honor and are planning a memorial for her on her birthday in August. It's shows that the bonds built in a video game really are the bonds of love and care. My condolences to your family may you find peace comfort and the strength the endure the grief.

He was a great kid and was taken way too soon. He was the type of person that if you asked him to do something he would do it. He was like a son to me

It's hard for people to understand that you can have really good friends online even if you'll never see them irl and sometimes those people help the most in a bad situation.

Like so many others, youtube's algorithm brought me here. I am so sorry for your loss. When I saw the camera pan out to show the sea of people walking for him, I immediately lost my composure. This was a truly thoughtful gesture, and goes to show just how many lives a person can touch -- on or offline. And it's clear that Tea/Wayne was an incredibly special, incredibly loved person. This just hit me hard-as I just recently lost my sister and father within 6 months of eachother. Though they knew I played this game, they loved it. I made my sister into a retainer so she is always with me and is there when I tell her about my adventures. 💜💙🌺

Wow. I know a lot of people play FFXIV to get away from the real world for a bit, so it's sobering to see people gather in-game to commemorate the recently departed. My condolences to you and your family. If it's any consolation, I had my best friend of 10 years pass away six months ago; its difficult, but it gets better over time - albeit, slowly. Just remember him and the impact he left on you when he was here, and smile.

What a wonderful way to say goodbye. Never seen anything like this in a video game. Don't know Wayne or the game, but this feels hard and really emotional. My condolences to the family and everyone who knew him. Rest in peace.
I've always been a solitary gamer. The less real people in my games, the better. But over the last 3 years, FF14 has single-handedly made me a lot more open to socializing and making friends in-game. And videos like this one hit me like a ton of bricks because although I've never met any of these people, I felt a connection to them throughout the whole video, and it brought me to tears multiple times. An entire guild of players assembled to mourn the loss of their friend has got to be one of the most powerful, human things I've seen in a long time. My sincere condolences for this fallen warrior. When they mentioned Dawntrail and how he wouldn't be there for it, it broke my heart. I'll be sure to pour one out for him when the expansion launches in two months. I feel it's our duty as Warriors of Light to carry on for him. RIP
