Against Olajuwon Jordan had to rely on his mid-range and the Rockets guards played up tight making him drive into Olajuwon's domain, so he was only half effective! The 92'-94' Rockets beat the 6x champ Bulls 3 of those 6 Finals the Bulls played in. The Rockets beat the Bulls 91'-93', lose to the Bulls 96'-98'!

A defense first team (Detroit, early Spurs, and Knicks) usually was characterized as being tough and usually was a villain-like character compared to offensive teams (Bulls, Magic, to a lesser extent Rockets) who were favorites.

    • Those Blazer teams NEVER get any love on Open Court, and that's a drag. They were the best team in the West for 3 years and you never hear anyone talk about them or Clyde, etc. Ernie even tried to open the door for them in the final segment and they never got a mention from the panel. I know they didn't win a title, but those were some great teams that everyone had issues with. That 90-91 team you mentioned that went 63-19 beat Chicago handedly in two blowouts that season. They got upended in the conference finals to the Lakers, but that year was their big missed opportunity to win one before Michael figured it out.

    • the blazers would have won titles in 1990 and 1992 if they didn't have to face 2 of the greatest teams of all time. they also lost in 1991 in the WCF to lakers. the early 90s blazers could have won a title in any of those seasons, but they had to face those 3 teams.

    • He also got his whole life ruined by "Larry Legend!!" Just destroyed by Bird! (Not the 1st time that's happened!) 1st: Isaah told a team plyr on Det that if Bird was black he's be just another avg. player! 2nd: "It's a steal by Bird etc etc!!" 3rd: "To put the icing on the cake, 1 thing about "Legend" is he never forgets!" When Isaah was President of the Pacers and Larry was hired to take his job and the plan was to demote Isaah, the 1st thing the new GM-Bird did, "was fire his ass with the backing of ownership and then President of Bask- Operations!" As far as not gettin on the 92 Dream Team, figure it out! Even MJ and Magic back Bird! Out!>>>>>>>>>PS-"If I.T. was white, he'd still be a cocky little midget! In the NBA, you disrespect Bird, there will be repurcussions!

    • Dennis Rodman actually said that. A reporter later asked Isaiah if he agreed with Rodman's statement and Isaiah jokingly agreed. The media took that and ran with it. He was basically lynched in the media.

    • Doward Washington I beg your pardon? Kenny was the second option on that Rockets team for the first championship run. He was instrumental in their system, and was even a candidate for the MVP award in 1991 season. He was a popular player even competing in a dunk contest. Which is why he regularly judges the contest post career. When did you start following the game? Those of us who grew up in the 80's and 90's know The Jet very well.

    • 90's decade in itself was just a fun time!! Id say 85 to 93 was the zenith for NBA of course it was the time when I was a kid an u might end up feeling the same way someday who knows..we're now living in the social media world which in my opinions sux cuzz I can remember a simpler time..Detroit Bad Boys fan rite here 88..89-90..we really won that 88 chip dont forget lol 90's NBA was ok but all ya seen was Jordan Red jerseys an 🏆 yr after yr after yr--Houston rockets then Bulls again-yr after yr after yr I preferd those blue jerseys instead lol

    • @@jbl7946 based of docs and vids I've watched 80s decade was wild! the 90s just gets alotta coverage cuz like u mentioned Jordan and his globalization of the game but it really built off the momentum the 80s brought; 2000s was pretty cool and I wish I was a lil older to really remember it cuz I feel that decade was the peak of it all in terms of the nba and pop culture and early internet in one without the oversharing of social media like today's game; I do appreciate all the highlights and quick info we get from social media today tho I'll give it that
