Good stuff! I can't wait to try alot of your recipes
I've been a subscriber for a couple of years, but I just saw this one. Started with your broccoli ad cauliflower chicken recipe. I do a lots of deer camp cooking in dutch ovens and on flattops. Deer camps are special places, whether in a tent or cabin. Love your channel.
I look forward to trying that!! Enjoy the weekend
Short, simple, an to th point, thanks, Brother!
I made this today. I added carrots and celery. It was my second dutch oven cook. It was great ! I appreciate your channel !
thanks for another great vid. i made your chicken and dumpling recipe yesterday and it was a big hit with the family
I’m cooking this right now and it’s so fun!
Thank you! I will sure try that one soon 👍
Love the channel great recipes thanks going to order your big skillet on amazon to support the channel.
One word. Wonderful.
I love the chicken dish you made and have to try making it myself outside in my dutch oven.
Used my Dutch Oven for first time yesterday! Our Beef Bourguignon turned out great! Looking for new recipes, thanks! Thumbs up
Like your wall of cast irons!
Decided to make this one yesterday evening. Really tasty and simple.
Great recipe. Made it last night for dinner and it is now a favorite of my wife’s.
Gonna do this! Thanks
Another inspiring video.
Looks good! I'd definitely bring some black pepper along too.
Now we need biscuits to sop that gravy up with! Well done video!
Nice! Just bought my first dutch oven, so I'm looking for ideas! Thanks
Check out our channel page and hit that subscribe button. We have over 50 dutch oven dishes there as of now and new ones every few weeks.
5 mins after watching, yes I have 3 of those park grills, and I'm prepping everything now! I'll be trying this TODAY!!..thanks, your newly found Subscriber/
Wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to get started with a Dutch Oven. Made some beef stew today and videoed it. I would appreciate any feedback you may have for me to improve my skills.
Hi. I like to cook in Dutch Oven. Thank you for explanation. Greetings from Germany
Great video! Glad to hear the venison dish is coming!
Thank you.
Hey that looked really good! Those campbells cream of whatever soups are really great for things like that. I use them alot. The cream of mushroom works great with pork chops too. Some carrots would have been a good addition also. There are so many things you can do with a DO. Pretty much anything you would do in a crock pot. (I use any utensils I want with my cast iron too but don't tell anybody.) LOL!
I'm right there with you on this stuff my friend! I like to turn this dish into hardy Chicken Stew by adding frozen veggies!
Love this video
Thanks for watching.
Looking good I tried your brockly and colliflower dish while back it was great I have several cast iron Dutch ovens but because of health issues they can be a pain for me to carry so I'm thinking of upgrading to a Gsi aluminum. One to make it easier on me to move around take care and keep up the good work
I don't know if he comments on the older videos. I made this yesterday it is fantastic. On the veggies I did potatoes carrots onion two stalks of celery and about 8 mushrooms sliced also added bacon four strips. Similar to a chicken pot pie definitely comfort food. I cook like he does put in what you like take out what you don't. I do the same thing with roast. Sear with flour
That looks delicious! Have you ever considered making soap out of all the leftover woodashes?
Those memories you talked about or what I tried to do create when I take 15 pieces of cast iron to the beach with me for a weekend fishing Festival. There ain't no McDonald's on the beach. But everybody loves blueberry pancakes
Like your wall of cast irons! Your advice is well taken, by me 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙊🙉🙈!
Looks good. I'm spending a few days with my sister in law and her husband. I'm going to make this for them with the never used Dutch Oven we gave them for a wedding present 3 years ago. I'll also get her subscribed.
Good luck. This is easy. Thanks for watching.
Nice video. One question. What surface are you putting down the heated charcoals?? Thanks. That seems a great idea...but so heat tolerant.?.
I want to see you make a goulash
Another great dish! I am a newbie and want more easy dishes. I have a small Dutch oven and a tripod. I want to pick up a table also. Keep the videos coming. Thanks
A pressure cooker out on the field, what more could you want. Nice channel 👍
What is the logo on your shirt? Delicious recipe as always.
Mr B, the recipe looks hearty and delicious as always. Carrots and celery would be good in it too. By the way, was the cooking instrumental music Steely Dan? It kind of sounded like their music but I could be wrong. I send my warmest regards to both yourself and Mrs B. Blessings to you both.
The music we use in the videos is all from the KZhead creator library. It's about all you can use without getting gigged for copyright infringement unfortunately. Thanks for the well wishes and thanks for watching. PS I love Steely Dan.
Just FYI, b/c you make videos like this I get really hungry :)
You’re neighbors must hate you smelling that food all the time lol.. That looks so dam good Great video Thank you ☮️
Hey Backwoods. I hear those birds flying over here at the coast in South Texas is that a sandhill crane?
Hi, I am new to your channel and new to DO cooking. I live in Maine and I hope I can do some winter cooking but I don't know if the charcoal will burnout too quick. Has anyone done outdoor winter cooking with a DO? Any advice? Great video, I have subscribed.
I'm sure that there are people on this channel that can answer that question. I live in Florida, so I have no real experience cooking in cold weather. Cold here is the 40"s.
I think it was the vast video you mentioned duck hunting. In my younger days we hunted ducks on the Mississippi River and we cooked ducks in sauerkraut in a dutch oven. I am not sure if it was the fact we were hungry but I remember them as being damn tasty.
Now I'm starving
What kind of ingredients would you use to cook a beefs tongue... Can you make a video on it?
I see what “KZhead “ means by unsuitable. That looks so good and I can’t have any.....👍
Now that's funny!
This looks like a good recipe to try at deer camp this year, Im not sure if I missed it or not but about how many will it serve? Grown hungry men serving size?
At least 2. Thanks for watching.
Hoping that you'll help me out with this dish. I want to make this using my lodge combo cooker, I don't have a Dutch Oven yet, and bake it in our oven. What temperature and how long? Is it doable or do I need to get myself a dutch oven? Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.
You could do this in any kind of pot with a tight fitting lid in the oven. 350 degrees for about 45 min.
Thank you for your quick response, It is very much appreciated
I know what I'm making tonight! In the 30's here at night for a few days...
I just ate what was left for lunch. Smoking some Baby Backs on the Weber Kettle and in the Dutch oven right now. Watch for that video soon. Where you been? Have not seen you on the comments lately.
My grand daughter was born yesterday, so been a bit busy lately with work, health probs and family.
How many coals did you use?
I really like your videos, the music could be a little lower so I don’t have to turn the volume up and down . Thanks
This is a function of your device, not the video. I can't fix that on my end. Turn off your music emphasis. A lot of music apps will set that automatically.
I was with you all the way until to pulled out the fireplace shovel.....haha, great vlog man.....that's how we live large in the bushes..
You need the fireplace shovel to clean out those campground grills!
Backwoods Gourmet Channel Spot on man......love your channel.....keep em rolling
I use pork steaks and a drained can of green beans. Versatile recipe.
Don’t need to make volume 400% during music.
Well outdoor cooking is almost done here in ND. Maybe I will get one more chance and if I do I am going to try this. By the way thanks for no forgetting the beer😀
rbf caf ...are you saying that you can't cook in the winter months? I am new to DO cooking but I would like to try some cooking in the winter months. Is it doable...ant recommendation. Thanks
I meant to say any recommendations. Darn autocorrect.
MBG yes You can cook outdoors in the winter. I live in ND. It gets to 20/30 below zero and winds 10/30MPH. Not a lot of cooking going on then.
rbf caf .. thanks. I live in Maine. I have a deck and a DO setup where I could go out and cook and be back in the house in seconds. I do a lot of solar cooking from my deck because sun shines great between 10 and 2. We just built a home and no trees right around the house. We have a forest on the backside of our house after the backyard.
I am a fair Weather cooker. If it is real bad weather I'll stay indoors and cook the more convenient way..take out! lol
Is this the marinade you referred to? Badia Mojo Marinade
I use the store brand generic, but Badia is good.
Backwoods Gourmet Channel thanks!! Fast reply!! I purchased the Badia Mojo Marinade today my concern was how those flavors would be with Cream of mushroom soup... seems fruit juice based
Love your videos btw
Great video, thank you. But I'll be honest man, lose the music next time!
good video butthe music too load
I recognize the music you used, but I can't place the artist.
Throw a 1/4 of chopped onion in the pot the same time as the chicken.
add some of that ca-gin beer instead of water
But the real question still remains is that hook in that blade a bottle opener
Yum. Why didn't you catch and clean the chicken?
They are in their prime egg laying period. Beautiful big brown eggs from each one every day.
Your cooking style, and food looks incredible..Could've done without the porn music though..lol..
you know porn music huh...ya dirty little Devil
Great video for newbies. When did you start with all this music?.........I think it takes away from your thoughts, prep and teachings. Just my 2 cents.
Started with music in 2010. Where you been. Gained 100,000 subs since this video so your out-voted. Thanks for watching.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel I must have not noticed before as I have watched many of your latest videos. My fav is your chicken and dumplings in the Dutch oven....we have tried it twice. C'mon you know you you want to try some.....😁 great work can't wait for more. Thanks 🇨🇦
@@klompie780 Glad I brought you back to the "Informative, yet entertaining side of KZhead". Millions of folks watch, so you can't make everyone happy all of the time. I'm not a teacher, just a guide.
What’s with the loud music? Turn the crap down and then I can’t hear you when you start talking again!
Recipe good, get rid of the music.

Why do Americans feel it necessary to hunt and kill things? It’s just not something we do or talk about in my country.
