I think my favorite thing about the Warhammer Lore, as an outsider looking in, based on all the stories I’ve heard and looked into, is that there are NO good guys, it’s just whatever race or faction is committing the least amount of war crimes.
It's all absolutely horrible. No one is right, or wrong. Human kind is "a meat grinder". The emperor of man killed millions of innocent people on his quest to rejoin the colonies just because they believed in a god. I love it all lol
"In the grim darkness of the future there is only war" slogan of the whole game, also you would like the Salamanders chapter, green space marines from a volcanic planet that seemingly go out of their way to protect the innocent peasants of these planets. Whereas the other marine chapters look at them like ants.

I feel like they should make a game where you play as a normal guardsman in a first person shooter game and you get to see what these guys see every single day
They already did sorta darktide basically vermintide but 40k
literally that but have it as they drop in and what ev but they just sorta show up around or sum idk
Yeah a horror survival game where you play as a guardsmen trying to survive a Tyranid/drukhari/daemon invasion would be so scary and amazing
Hahaha be short game lucky survive first few minutes of fighting lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They'll have to make it like the beginning of Battlefield 1, where every time you die it goes to a new soldiers. Because there is going to be a lot of dying.
For anyone wondering what the Chains on Titus's Arm is for. They are Inquisitorial Chains symbolizing a Space Marine attempting to redeem himself from failure in combat. This would make sense from a lore standpoint as he violated the codex back in Space Marine I. Also the fact he's a Lieutenant. It's important to note that these chains are not restricted to just being a signal for a space marine redeeming himself. It's been seen in the Black Templar Chapter that they put chains on their weapons as a sign of dedication to battle, the chain can have different meanings. But as I said, in this setting the chains means Titus has failed in his duty and is on the route to redemption.
helps to solidify the plot, thanks
Only a true loremaster would know this! My compliments. This explains very well how Titus could even be on the battlefield after Space Marine I. Thanks for pointing this out!
Yet wouldn't they be out of their chapter.
I'm not sure about that. Black Templars chain their weapons to their armor as a sign of dedication to battle, that they cannot put their weapons down until their duty is done.
He has 2 more stamps on his head. Which as i know means extra 100 years of service. Is he in a perpetual redeeming act, or he done something "again".
I'm 54 yrs of age. I tell you this. Because when I was a kid. Ping and Pong came out. It was awesome. My brother and I would play it for hours. Then as a teen, we got Space Invaders and so on. @Siberian Worth pointing out that this is possible because of the "Black Carapace", which is essentially a subdermal (just beneath the skin) series of Datajacks/cybernetics grafted directly into the Astarte's nervous system that hook up directly to the suit. When the Black Carapace is working right (And if it ain't, something seriously wrong has occurred) the Astarte's armor is effectively a second skin made out of tank armor. Keep in mind these guys can fire .75 caliber rifles ambidextrously singlehanded, the kind of shit you'd see fired from the prone and braced for hunting say an Elephants or light armored vehicles no problem even *without* their armor's ability to help dampen the recoil. If an Astartes pattern bolter's rounds were any larger they could just about be classified as small cannons akin to those black powder artillery pieces you saw fired from the rear of the battlefield in Napoleonic warfare battlefields. We see such tech in later "Supersoldier" types such as Halo's Spartans (Who are almost pound for pound a rip from warhammer 40K's space marines). Even bare-handed, without their armor, Astartes could likely pull a man apart like a butterfly.... *and they're still massively outclassed* by many of Mankind's worst enemies. It's hard to portray Space Marines accurately because unlike modern special forces or in some Sci-fi settings, each chapter specializes to some degree or another in one field of expertise, Kind of like how say this French group specializes in hostage rescue whereas a Canadian group deals in eliminating HVT (High Value Targets) but with absolutely extreme levels of cybernetic and psychological conditioning via hypnotherapy to a terrifying degree. Some chapters may be scary all the same on Terra Firma but if you pit them against another ship in a boarding action where they specialize they are absolutely god damned terrifying in how well they can hijack the ship's own systems against it's defenders and have fine-tuned their weapons for boarding actions.
That beginning just makes me want a series of 40k a TV show with incredible visuals and story there is so much potential there
You know, I said that for years about Halo. Then they finally made that TV show. .... I'm good.

@@cwdgamedev822 Yeah it's the heresy. Think it was a promotional piece from GW about some new box-set.
I would pay really good money for a true immersing RPG. From scout days all the way through to Captain.
The only problem I see is it would be hard to come up with a narrative that is interesting for a single marine. You are their to serve and War is all there is. Marines when not in combat are training and praying, not the most rewarding of stories. I think an Strategy RPG would be better. Sort of like Dawn of War II but instead of just a Marine let you create and manage maybe a smaller chapter of Space Marines, and you have to build them up. You could even have the option to fall to the lore of Chaos if you want, as well as always under threat of your chapters destruction. Say if you lose to many marines, you go extinct.
@@DustinBarlow8P yeh I get what you mean but Space Marine was a pretty dope game as FPS and narrative story was pretty good. Just think you start off as a scout, do main mission and some sides, as you progress you can branch off into front line trooper or specialist. You slowly take command of squad, then demi, all the way to captain or chapter master if main goal.
@@TNAralwaysfun pre Horus heresy would be sick. you can see how holy these marines are from the guardsman reaction, not many of them survive the procedure to become super human, and the ones that do are seen as the chosen ones.
Well they are carrying gene seed some what connected to the Emperor. It's the equivalent of a Christian seeing an Angel drop from the sky.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that, to the overwhelming majority of human space, the Astartes are just a myth. Few actually believe they even exist. Thatguy is right, it would be like being an atheist or someone who passively believes in God but thinks most of it are just stories actually seeing a real angel. The book Fifteen Hours goes into a lot of that, how many guardsmen scoff at the idea of the Astartes and some don't even actually believe the Emperor is still alive. Keep in mind as well that much of human space isn't grimdark, its not much different technologically from present day earth. So they're totally isolated from the horrors going on elsewhere.
@@thatguy3275 Indeed, people do act this way, yet the opposite is true: it's the ordinary Christian mortals who carry the Blood and Flesh of God-Man in their bodies, not the angels. IF they take so long to put 1 armor on just imagine how long it must take to put on 10 000 armor for 10 000 marines.
They probably only do it this slow and methodically when they’re not in any immediate rush of being under attack. Plus, each of them won’t be taking their entire armor set off for a while. They might have to wear it for many weeks, months, years, or decades.
Space Marines are among the rarest forces the Imperium has to offer. For each marine there are easily enough tech priests, and an abundance of servitors and menials. Plus, they don't have to take off their armor for a long.... long time once it's on.
I mean the Mechanius are basically toaster fetishists who wont improve technology and instead rub lub on it and call it a day. So being pathetically inefficient while being weirdly culty about putting armor on is exactly why no one gets anything done in the imperium.
About 40 000 years ;)
Well, since it took 4 minutes in the video, it takes around 666 hours to armor up 10 000 marines. If they had only one place like this.
My god, I had forgotten how good the story of this game was. Had been immersed in this as one of my favorite MP games of the early 2010s that the SP has fallen from memory. Re-watching this has just rekindled fond memories - such an immersive story with great character development and thought provoking twists that challenge the traditional mindset of the Space Marine. Titus has always been one of my favorite, and was always great to see as a featured Chapter. As in most GW games, it's often the Blood Ravens that get the screen time. Would dearly love to see a SM2. I recall there were plans, but shortly scrapped due to all the AAA alignments happening at the time (?) . One major flaw in the 1st installment that should be very easy to fix - invest in infrastructure and offer more than P2P MP connections. Those were truly the game's biggest issues (latency) . That, and the reality that not many maps were released at all. Thanks for sharing the full cut-scene collection!
What game was this? I really would like to play it

I may have gotten the wrong idea from what you've written, but I can happily tell you that Space Marine 2 is happening, the first cutscene of this compilation was the announcement trailer.

40K has so much untapped potential. Im glad we're getting another game in the universe but honestly there isn't enough to fill the demand for it in my opinion. We need feature length films.

I often wonder when or even if they will ever make some kind of Warhammer series? To clear some arguments up here, yes I do mean something like an animated or CGI series with maybe, and that’s a very hard maybe, some kind of live action movie or series that’s a bit on a smaller scale. Something a little more grounded. Those are just some of my thoughts.
GW probably won't ever make one, but I agree, it would be awesome. There are a range of stories they could tell. Personally, I'd like one about an inquisitor like Eisenhorn
Unless y'all are trolling, where have u been? Warhammer series are precisely what Warhammer+ is all about
@@stillwatersrundeep001 I think he means something slightly beyond the quality of a freshman animation project. The Emperor deserves better.
@@specfour5 Hohohehe well done you, obligatory pooping on W+ done. Now, read the OP again and see that they said "ever make some kind of Warhammer series" which is clear they're accepting anything.
@@stillwatersrundeep001 It's not obligatory, it's deserved. Hammer and Bolter is low budget animation with boring mediocre stories, Angels of death is willed to life by Richard Boylan to the point of reusing audio from Helsreach. Even this was not enough as the audio quality of the series is beyond abhorent. Only half decent show is the Exodite. The production quality nor the quantity does not reflect well on GW. They either skimp on money for these projects, trying to milk the IP and hope to be bought by some larger company or straight up don't give a fuck. None of these even approach the audiovisual quality of Lord Inquisitor, choreography and action of Sodaz's work or lore accuracy of Death of Hope. And these were single man/small team projects running on pocket money. WH+ is an utter failure. And we should rub GW's face in it for a long time. They made their bed and they should lie in it.
I really love how he keeps showing so much respect for the Guardsmen
Great job. To Everyone that was involved to this project. Great thanks for Your work. This is ... beautiful
Honestly as a guardsmen I'd probably be just as afraid of the Astartes
unless its the salamanders, then you're probably just gonna get a big hug and a pat on the head
They are cadians, they are not afraid at all. They or respect or have a strong devotion to them. Btw IG by themselves are not a joke and would crush everything in their sight. Read some crime books and you would see the difference.

Where did the opening scenes/Abaddon scenes come from?! That all looked phenomenal!
The first trailer is from the new SpaceMarine 2 game. The 2nd is the Armoring trailer for Space Marine 2 as well
The first was the Space Marine 2 trailer. Several others were just GW cinematics for various stuff, such as "The Horus Heresy" for TT.
That wasn't Abaddon - that was Horus
I love how three space Marines make it look so easy.
I don't know anything about warhammer, but this looks awesome (I'm making a warhammer40k edit)
My only confusion about this is why Titus has the chain connected to his arm and chain blade because that is usually a practiced used only by Black Templars.
I always thought the “No helmets” decision in Space Marines was super dumb. Makes no sense and looks foolish and cartoony.
Alot of them have a thing called an iron halo that creates a force shield around them plus alot of shoulder cauldrons have sides that are high enough to hide their faces
Try wearing a helmet sometime while in a firefight. Ever notice that special forces types ditch helmets altogether, or wear stripped down helmets like Delta operators? It's because helmets are a pain in the ass to wear and they limit your ability to SEE. Yeah, you can "see" with slits, cams, and "sensors", but there are times with the MK1 Eyeball is the right "sensor" to give you the best situational awareness. A commander doffing his helmet actually makes real world sense.
If they know how to deal with the shit they face then they can get away without wearing a helmet
@@rcgunner7086 one shell near this space marine and he is dead. Helmets were made not to protect from bullets, but to protect from shatters
