Can I HUNT a DEER with a 100-Year-Old Rifle?! 🤔

2023 ж. 15 Ақп.

In this episode I attempt to hunt roe deer with my grandfather's rifle, a hundred year old Tigre in caliber 44L. A copy of the traditional winchester gun, that for sure will provide an extra challenge, and will bring back a lot of good memories.
As hunters, I believe that we need to look for the challenge, and try to make things harder, giving the animals higher chances. managing roe deer does seemed like the perfect scenario to try this gun on.

  • What a beautiful rifle. All the fabulous memories old and new ones made. I have my Grandad’s 94’ from the 1930’s and his Colt revolver he bought new for $18 he said in 1917 when he 18 years old. He was heading west to Texas and wanted a hand gun he told us. The Colt is in excellent condition the rifle has been graded at 80% good. A million stories I never heard but the feeling is out of this world when I hold them.

  • As I have gotten older, how I hunt, is far more important than the kill. Wonderful video. You make your Grandfather proud.

  • Pedro is amazing! His presentations are always enjoyable and inspirational. This is my favorite so far. His take on trophy hunting overlays mine perfectly. Hunting for 65 years, I have always avoided gimmicks and success by tape measure. Time in the wilds on it's terms is the measure, - a kill is a rewards. Complete utilization of the animal only extends the experience.

  • Amazing vídeo Pedro, recovering the old ways, It's so refreshing. It is nice to find someone defending a more traditional way of hunting and also looking after a better experience, rather than a trophy. Would It be a bad idea to make a vídeo, explaining how you stalk. That would be amazing

  • I have a recovery video on my channel from 2022 deer season in NH. I was able to shoot a beautiful 140lbs doe with my Great-Great Grandfather's model 94 30-30. It was an amazing hunt that I will never forget! Pedro, thank you for sharing your hunt!

  • There just something about your grandpa's gun that just makes it just that much better. My grandpa died when I was 4 it's the only way I het to hunt with him. Is to take his rifle out in the field. Great job keep sharing.

  • I'm older now, so for me, I can't stalk like when I was younger. This video brought back memories of my earlier years. Sadly, it's a tree stand for me now. Congratulations on your harvest and enjoy your youth while you can... It goes way to quick. Love the rifle too !

  • I too hunt with an old Winchester 92 in 32-20 it was manufactured in 1909 , it’s not about the newest gear the best rifle and scope it’s exactly as u described it ! It’s about how u hunt and how hard u work to get your game animal and not so much a trophy but to put meat on the table ! Well done thanks for sharing cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

  • I regularly use my grandfathers 7x57 bolt action with iron sights. It really does make you realise that you can get a lot closer to deer than you usually would with a telescopic sight. Although many professional deer stalkers in the UK are not willing to let you use them on their ground as they do not understand the use of them. We should respect the game that we are stalking more and by challenging yourself to get closer you give the game more of a chance. This means when you go back to using a modern rifle you have sharpened your skills and made yourself a better hunter.

One of my sons have been hunting with his great grand fathers 100 year old lever action 30-30. I actually filmed him taking his first buck with it and is on my channel if your interested. He has since taken another buck and a bull elk with it.

  • Great videos guys, you must feel such a connection to your grandfather as you hunt with his rifle. Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone’s rifles passed down to me. Even though my grandfathers were hunters, they migrated to Pakistan from India with nothing but the clothes on their backs. I never got the chance to hunt with my grandfathers rifle But I hope my grandson gets to hunt with my Henry 45/70.

  • Excellent video! I shot my first moose with a rifle made in 1917. It's nice to see a successful harvest with a really old rifle. New rifles are great, but the old classic wood rifles have a certain historical character to them and offer unique challenges to hunting. Be very proud of getting to hunt with your grandfather's rifle. Many grandson's wish they had their grandpa's rifle for the same purpose. You are very lucky to have that opportunity. I certainly enjoyed watching this video. Good greetings from Canada!
