  • I think that daily shower really depends on the type of work you do and how active you are. I’m pretty sure a diesel mechanic is not going to be able to convince his wife he shouldn’t take a shower after work, or before bed. Now the daily usage of soap, in the shower -may need to be limited. But rinsing off actual dirt, from actually dirty jobs, with just water - is highly suggest.

I don't have grease at my work, but usually dirt/dust (I'm a technician). Sweat is usually my nemesis, especially if it gets humid in the summer since my place of business uses swamp coolers. Showering without soap helps a little with sweat, but if you really get sweaty, you really need soap.

    @KalRandom@KalRandom3 жыл бұрын
    • How switching from soda to water saved my back teeth: When I was 20 I went to the dentist and they said look, all the molars down one side of my mouth were brown. When I was 18 I got addicted to lemonade, and drank a 1.5l bottle a day. When I was 19 I suddenly decided to quit and start drinking water. The dentist said drinking the acid sugary soda was taking the calcium out of the enamel. But when I switched to water the enamel recalcified and the teeth became healthy again, just stained brown.

Still, within weeks parts of my body were covered with dirt because in the high humidity the dirt sticks to your skin, so you actually do need to shower not just daily in an environment like that, but unless you want to look obviously dirty you need to use the soap for the whole body, especially lower legs.

Before going to bed, you set up your coffee maker or microwave to be done with your coffee at 07:00, you set the alarm to go off at 06:00, and then you snooze it until it reaches 07:00. Now you go and get your phone, coffee and toothbrush+paste to the shower. Remember to check all those notifications while going for the coffee and towards the shower. Drink the coffee right away, and then while showering, you brush your teeth. You can also relieve yourself in a squatting position in the shower. Remember to shower for 3 hours in hot water, with stronh bacteria killing soap all over your body, and shampooing your hair, every day.

He then said that it was just too rude for him to stand because of the mess, to which I kind of had an _ooooh, ok_ reaction. -Two years later- We've moved into a different house, out in the country, where both of the bathrooms' windows face south. This means that I'm often going into a sunlit toilet when I stand. Now I sit down, or go outside; after you've seen all the tiny splashes in full sunlight, you'd have to be a pig to keep doing it. It shouldn't take a team of physicists!

In bad cases it'll "pickle" paint, and like dude commented earlier it'll literally eat holes in sub-flooring. Men generally have no clue how much of a mess they make while peeing standing up, and women often don't want to deal with the upset it would cause to even suggest men sit down to pee. So the women just shake their heads and clean it up, while men remain clueless about it... and then they BOTH teach their boys to do it rather than address the urine-splattered elephant in the room. It's legit crazy lol

      @suzbone@suzbone3 жыл бұрын
    • @@suzbone In our defense, it's pretty unnatural to sit down. Our plumbing 'bends' in such a way that it doesn't completely drain out until we've stood back up. The sitting down has been quite an adjustment. As such, I go outside whenever possible (as I've said, we're out in the country now). Except for when it's cold, going outside is best. Funny how we've developed a cultural stigma that causes people to believe otherwise. As though it were vulgar! Why would you want to use a chamber-pot, even if it does self-empty? It's still in your house! And it wastes water. One more thing, girls: urinals are no more sanitary. Those are just angled toilets that're more convenient for us to aim at. And since this thread is already a gross-out, I'll also tell you that the stand-close geometry of a urinal causes it to splash even more: especially with respect to the guy's pants, belt, and shoes. They get micro-pee everywhere; even on the guy who's elbow is nearly rubbing yours as you both stand there uncomfortably staring at the wall, wishing you were peeing in a field the way nature intended. I stopped using those when I was a teenager. I'd rather go into a small-mouthed bottle.

Anyway I now live with grandmother who is unable to move well enough so she gets the Toilet seat gross, I began standing up to pee and the muscles used when standing to pee had weakened over the years, when I was in 1st grade I won the daily peeing contest by peeing a good ten feet away, when I began standing up again after so long of sitting down I couldn't hardly pee 2 feet and it wasn't easy, relaxirelaxing those muscles by sitting made those muscles weak. Eventually the information is everywhere, so people assume it must be true, and accept it as fact. But all "studies" and research is worthless, until it can be reproduced. There was never a valid reason to claim that sitting to pee was a better choice, but it is accepted as fact by many, and you will never change their minds about it now. Just like we see in politics, people believe what they want to believe, and they don't let facts get in the way.

Sometimes I can go to bed and pass right out. But most of the time. I'm half-dead at work, then at night, I'm staring at the clock as the minuets and hours pass.. But most days it goes like: Body: "She has been in the comfy position for 10 minutes. Turn on the ache machine!, and that arm under the pillow.. make it feel as if it is on fire and about to fall off. The spine shall begin to tighten and send pain signals to the brain" Me: flips over and lies another way. Body: Give her 12 minutes. Then .. unleash the pains of hell. Top it off with a sudden and desperate urge to pee." Me: Gets up, pees, lays back down. Body: Now drool like a biblical flood, and make the ear on the pillow feel as if the Alien xenomorph is trying to emerge from her inner ear. Me: flips pillow, lays on back in coffin position. Booty: I'll go numb and ache at the same time. Brain: WE'RE FALLING! Legs: KICK!! Saliva: Gag her! Asshole on motorcycle driving by at 1 AM: Rev.. Revv..VVVVRRROOOOOOOOMMMM! Reeev Rev rev.! • What if you have a soft alarm that disappears after 30 seconds, have used it a long time, are cognizant of it; and you _don't_ press the snooze button, and gently wake up gradually, according to the schedule you know to be true? So you let the soothing alarm run through, aware of its presence, and take mental note that after about 1-4 times, you will finally dismiss the alarm for good while rising out of bed?

  • I know this video is about morning routine but paying attention to your sleep cycle should still be mentioned. You're guaranteed to be sleepy if you wake yourself up in the middle of your sleep cycle.

    • I rarely wake up extra groggy or in a bad mood. I do need pills to stay asleep. But, don't get any grogginess from any of them. Even if I wake up early. I don't know, if that's a personality trait or the fact I do try hard to get enough sleep overall. It seems a lot of people live in sleep deprivation. Maybe that is more the issue.

  • Is there any wireless speakered alarm clocks out there? Cause if we could keep the speaker near by but the snooze button further away that would be amazing SIDE NOTE: your sweat nor the glands actually produce a smell, what does cause the smell is actually bacteria multiplying and feeding off of your sweat and dead skin cells

  • Always been showering right then :) I always only showered 2 to 3 times a week due to my dry skin condition. Showering too much made my skin really dry and itchy it truly sucks. I deffinetly learned some more things from this :) My only issue with not looking at my phone as i wake is that my phone IS my alarm LOL

  • It starts even earlier. Lots of people are sleeping with room doors and windows shut, and many people additionally use blinders to keep the light out. Both is disadvantageous for your health and activity levels. Why? You're breathing, that means: converting O2 into CO2, and as there's no fresh air coming in, the level of CO2 in the room will rise to more than 1000 ppm, which makes you dizzy even when awake (many people feel that from about 700-800 ppm already). And blocking out sunlight means blocking out the natural trigger for your body to activate as soon as you got enough sleep. Both effects are much worse than drinking an early coffee.

  • Personally I like to start my day with a mix of organic green tea + rooibos tea, since too much green tea that early upsets my stomach -- maybe due to the caffeine and acidity. Rooibos is an herbal red tea that is higher in antioxidants than most green or black teas, and the slightly sweet flavor of rooibos takes the edge off a bitter green tea. My 2nd drink of the day is black coffee, but that's usually at least two hours after I finish my tea. Then I repeat this again later in the day: more tea (but sometimes black tea again diluted with an herbal tea), then more coffee. I've heard before that doing this green tea then coffee then tea then coffee is the best order of beverages if you're intermittent fasting, which I often do.
