I was out on the river by Saint Paul Minnesota Summer 2021.. When you're KZhead channel popped up . I've watched you ever since. Anyway I'm jealous.. that was my 1st time on the river . I wish I could spend the summers out there it's beautiful. It's like a different world on the river. Thankyou

Credit to the regular captain of that vessel, Capt Mike, Chief Dennis, mate Raymond, and crew. They have really done some work this past year on that ole girl. It’s always a pleasure to ride the Stone 👍🏻

I watch from uk so we don’t have long barges like you do in the states ,when you were swinging off the bank do you have one engine in forward and one in reverse?

Captain Kyle, a completely newb question, but have you ever or heard of anyone running 1 screw forward and 1 reverse to turn/pivot course? I would think if someone did that it the cavitation would be pretty bad.

That’s a very subjective question, and is a matter of perspective. It is very big and very swift, most places, most the year. There are some exceptions.

That is debatable subject. 🤔. There are at least ten vessels that could be considered largest class “Lower Mississippi” boats… until the Lewis Strait us complete. 😉👍🏻

Still don't think we got anything electric that can manhandle 1,200ft of steel off a riverbank like that. You'd have to have drive motors on every barge. They'd probably have to run diesel generators to keep the batteries charged.🤦♂️
