I've never seen Matt actually angry at the practices of a game company before. Seeing his veiled unhappiness at how the company is conducting themselves is not only funny, but refreshing. It shows a human side to him that youtubers typically either hide completely or blow out of proportion.

Well now with the release we find out that, Huggy is not “The Prototype” whatever dragged Mommy’s body is. Huggy wasn’t the violent one. It is. It’s smarter then any other character. My theory is that Mommy didn’t kill the toys. That thing did. For violence.
It also calls the heirarchy/food-chain of toy monsters into question. Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs were both terrifying and super-sized killers, yet neither of them apparently compare to the beastly might of the Prototype. Ffs Mommy Long Legs actually sounded more terrified of the Prototype than she was scared of the grinding machine killing her. I wager Huggy Wuggy would've been similarly terrified of it, backing off like a dog before a lion.

But in the point where when she was being crushed, she said “Don’t make me part of them.” Either this meant the dead toys or something is being built, like the Prototypes Fully Body?

I feel like every chapter is going to be based off of a specific phobia. Think about it. Huggy chased us through a small vent system. The chapter was even titled "A Tight Squeeze" rendering that it was meant to be claustrophobic. And chapter 2 has a big spider theme, relating to arachnaphobia. I can only hope that the other chapters will use phobias like the fear of snakes, heights, darkness, and maybe even the ocean.
That's a great theory, and sounds accurate, but (if true) there's gonna be a lot of Thallassophobics (yes, I looked it up) cross that after five chapters they can't play chapter 6 or whatever. Still, cool idea for an episodic horror game.

It's happened at least twice. Once with FNAF and I'm pretty sure Bendy & The Ink Machine changed direction in response to MatPat as well.

Hey Matt, just figured I'd try to bring this to your attention. In Chapter 2, one of the slides has all of it's letters scattered on the ground. Where the letters once were are nails where they used to hang from. The first name contains 5 while the last name contains 6. The only name I could get from it is Jamie Hanoby. Could you cover this in the next Poppy Playtime Theory vid?

With the new chapter. That missing secret recipe is definitely Ludwig. And now knowing #1006 isn't huggy I'm 100% sure it's Ludwig himself. While Stella isn't Poppy but Kissy instead. And Poppy is Ludwig's daughter. Ludwig wanted to bring his daughter back to life. But the question is why was she in a cage? Bc like the other toys. She also has psychotic tendencies. Notice how she changes her mood from being friendly at first to being cold after defeating MLL. My theory Ludwig died between post-CatBee and pre-Huggy creation era. Bc CatBee and Bron are the only ones who doesn't have "Life Size/adult alter". While Boggie Bot was made in later years so they weren't able to make an alter of him. My next theory the next monster would be Candy Cat or among them. Like how Bunzo & PJ was. So to say Prototype was created before Huggy. Ludwig offered himself to perfect Poppy. He didn't had bad intentions. But after his creation Playtime Co. started to shift their objectives. Which further angers Ludwig. Prototype is too perfect they can't control it. So they made Huggy. Who is much more humane. But he's too subservient to act on his own. So they made MLL. But she's more strong-willed. And it just goes on and on and on. So who made the note? It was the prototype. I originally thought it was poppy. But after releasing poppy why would she want to help us escape when she was the one who called us? And during the train ride. It seems the prototype talk to her about us. And when the prototype appeared to collect MLL he didn't do anything to us. MLL has a mind of her own and knows to survive she must avoid prototype. She attacks us bc she hates Playtime Co. Huggy is attacking us bc he's programmed to protect Playtime Co. Prototype is the superior toy among the Playtime Toys. But why does he need us? Other than locating Poppy he wants us to see how awful Playtime Co. is. He will definitely need us and he & poppy might be genuine to help us get through Playtime Co. But I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a UNO reverse card where Poppy will lose control and reveal her psychotic side being the Boss monster of the series. Or prototype might use us to transfer himself to our body. Or just like us having to venture those test like the kids. Was being test and how constantly poppy says we're perfect. Maybe just maybe we are being marinated to be the "Perfect Toy" Poppy, the prototype, and the other toys failed to be.
I love this theory! I can't wait to see how monstrous The Prototype really is.

Now that chapter 2 has came out, it’s kind of cool to see the outdated theory’s and assumptions either triumph or get proven wrong! Especially the “Wuggy being 1006” theory, since it has been proven that he is not. Can’t wait till the next theory video!
FYI: The holes on mommy long legs limbs are reference to bendable toys having those in general. Because during the mold making process they put pins that keep the wires centered inside the toys limbs.

Yeah that's what I gathered too. Unless she's going to rip arms out (without the actual plugs that would go into the sockets) and directly wire those arms into her main body.
Yeah, I remember having a flexible and non-stretchable toy that had the same all over it. Just looking at MLL, those holes would be way too small for accessories if she was scaled down to normal size. Any kid would break the pins by breathing on them wrong

No one seems to have noticed how amazing the animation for Poppy is in this video. Usually the character animation is GT is just an image dragged across screen, maybe with a few expressions, but Poppy had an entirely anime-esk face. Well done animator. You deserve a raise.
They’ve been doing it with some of the fnaf and Minecraft theories as well recently! I think they might have hired an artist to help with the animation, so they didn’t have to rely on pre made assets and photos as much. It’s pretty impressive!

I agree; for some reason like halfway through the video Poppy looks like she’s drawn by an entire team of animators but then the next second she’s just normal looking again
The holes in Mommy Long Legs' arms and legs aren't actually for customization. Many other toys with bendable arms and legs that arent customizable have those same holes such as several Sonic The Hedgehog figures. They likely have something to do with the mobility of the limbs. We didn't get a view of Mommies sides but it is possible that there could be sockets for attachable limbs. Also, love how in order to get across the point of unblinking eyes, he used a picture of the Kirstin mini doll that has painted eyes since the actual 18" dolls everyone knows can actually blink.
This is interesting to come back to after watching Chapter 2 and we now know that Experiment 1006 isn't Huggy Wuggy or any of his variants, but a whole different creature altogether. (If anyone wants more info I shall provide)

@@clartblart3266 Basically the creature which took Mommy Long Legs' remains was Experiment 1006, it's very smart and it's out to kill. It has a hobby of collecting parts of broken toys across the factory, to "make them a part of him", so we can assume that he is an amalgamation of some sort.

I have to say with this episode of game theory having matpat both talk about nfts being bad and telling us to be careful with putting money into stocks it makes me happy that he’s not just promoting anything to his primarily young audience for money and he actually cares about keeping his viewers and the environment safe, I really respect that

I think i know what it means when in the chapter 2 trailer, when mommy long legs pulls the huggy wuggy toy. you see the way he fell to his death in chapter 1? we never got to saw him down there and we know hes not returning. and as matpat said mommy long legs is eating the organs of the toys. so when he was gone down there when we never saw him. mommy longs legs was probably down there and pulled him away, and ate his organs. explaining why he never showed up again in any of the new chapters
Is nobody gonna mention how the holes in the arms are not for customization it's for flexibility. It's just how the flexible rubber arms are made. Like any kind of those toys
I guess my only question would be why Stella, an adult, would make simple grammatical mistakes that children make. Stuck in a doll's body, I can easily excuse the handwriting - but her misplacing the apostrophe and misspelling words is a bit odd. There are posters around the factory, encouraging employees to adopt kids, though. Since she was stuck in the box, I doubt she was the one who wrote the letter and sent it to us. Maybe her room is similar to a saferoom, and smaller toys that were stuffed with adopted children go to her for 'protection'. If she instructed them to write the letter, the grammatical errors would make a bit more sense, I think.
"Misplacing the apostrophe and misspelling words is a bit odd" You should find these in the comments section of every KZhead video. Quite certain some of them were made by adults.
@@archwaldo Sure but if you're going to drop hints lore-wise in a video game, then you wouldn't want to make those mistakes. If you're going to make the note look like it was written by a child, but then also emphasize that Stella is an adult, then one could assume *in a game* that the note was not directly written by Poppy. If we were analyzing any comment written by someone in the real world, and not in a game, then it wouldn't stand out as odd at all.
This is my theory: What if Stella has been reborn when she became Poppy? Sure she might retained her memories, but she might’ve had a learning curve to stuff like motor skills and daily activities which could be sorted out in the lab while watching over her. But grammar, facts, thinking capacity and stuff, that isn’t stuff that’d be sorted out labs. So that’s my theory!

Also,I've wanted to add a suggestion for a theory. I liked the Backrooms survival theory, but I would love to see the lore. Specifically, were did the monster come from? I wouldn't put a creature that hunts and kills my coworkers into my interdenominational storage unit, and I doudt anyone else would either.

⚠️Spoilers!!⚠️ When Matt was talking about huggy wuggy he stated that he was experiment 1006 which is the same number as prototype who mommy long legs refers to him in her dying words by saying “he’s going to make me part of him” and when her torso falls out of the crusher a large claw comes out from under a nearby door which appears to be “prototypes” claw according to the image that shows during the vhs tape about how he almost escaped. so i would theorize that huggy wuggys story isn’t over yet considering that his experiment number is the same as “prototypes”.

And their design is basically a copy and paste off of the same sketch, just with different color schemes and such, so they aren't even visually appealing. "Investment" my foot. They're trendy now only because of the NFT companies themselves, which keep trying to pass this off as the wave of the future. It's not.
now that the game is out, we know that huggy is NOT the prototype. which i kinda like it better, bc it shows that there are monsters far more intelligent than huggy like mommy and the prototype itself, as mentioned in the tapes. also the spider that they mention on the tapes, i think that it might b the prototype. bc even if staff is unaware of experiments, they would recognize mommy long legs since she was a well received toy. but what about the prototype? most staff members would not know, so we can assume that it is spider-like

i want to point this out a lot, i dont know if its a known theory or what, but in the games, whenever a toy is looking to kill, their eyes go black, and with poppy in chapter 2, the black ring around her pupils gets large. its very noticable when comparing her before the train and her in her cage.

The spider could possibly be mommy long legs because they never mention what it looked like, just that it was 50ft long. Considering mommy lot legs is a stretchy 'spider' with long legs, it is safe to assume that she was the 50ft long spider
Yeah especially when Jacksepticeye's worker character said it had a thousand legs, which would be reminiscent if this creature, as mommy long legs said before she died, somehow meshed itself with other toys which would create a pretty terrifying creature with multiple toy body parts
It's also kinda unlikely that someone would describe mommy long legs as having a thousand legs considering she only has 4 and with all the posters being up of mommy long legs workers would atleast have known what she looks like. Also Jack's description of a door be propped open and underneath it being something scurrying around is also reminiscent of the last scene as the prototype reaches under the door and grabs mommy long legs remains.

Here's a theory: what if Poppy isn't just trying to restart the factory and create a new line of living toys, what if she's also using us to take out the old, failed ones. We took down Huggy Wuggy (as far as we know) and now we're going after Mommy Longlegs. Poppy is having us kill the threats to her goal before she starts everything again.
First thing she asked when you reunite is if you killed her.

The "holes" in Mommy Long Legs aren't any kind of an expansion port (neither are the holes on the 90's kids toys). They're a manufacturing artifact. In this specific case, pins in the mold were used to suspend a flexible metal wire in the center of the mold channel for the arms/legs/neck while rubberized plastic was injected into the mold. The rubber would encapsulate the metal wire while the pin held the wire in place. They just didn't bother to fill in the holes after the toys were extracted.
Here's a theory. Someone in Elliot Ludwigs family died, I think that was Stella greybur. I think she was Elliots wife or daughter and she died, so Elliot, obsessed with bringing her back, used her corpse in the make a friend machine to create poppy. He then knew his power and forced the other employees to become monsters

9:56 Those holes in poseable rubber dolls are (sadly) not for customization. The holes are left behind from pegs holding the wire armature in place during the casting process. I do think you’re on to something with the customization idea, but add ons certainly would not go in those holes.

The holes in Betty Spaghetti and Mommy Long Legs' arms are probably there to help the arms bend and move without breaking rather than actually helping with customisation. You see it with some other toys that aren't customisable.
Excuse the unintentional innuendo. But you can still stick things in the holes, even if that isn’t what they’re for.

I remember holes like that on the old Gumby toys, too. I think they assist with the flexibility of those wire-encased-in-rubber bendy limbs.

I am proud to say I got this before Matpat did about Poppy.
Spoiler alert for Chapter 2: 1. Huggy Wuggy is not Experiment 1-0-0-6. He's experiment 1-1-7-0. 2. Mommy Long Legs is not collecting the toy to resemble her but instead it's 1-0-0-6 to collect to be part of him. When Mommy Long Legs almost die, her last words was: "Don't make me part of him!" Him is 1-0-0-6 and he's collecting the death toys part to be part of him. And there's a robot arm reaching her dead body. 3. The flower turns to be a cymbal bunny named Bonzo Bunny, the caterpillar turns to be a toy with dog face and caterpillar body named PJ Pug-a-Pillar. 4. Huggy Wuggy might be still alive as you can see a blood trail climbing to the top of the pipe and it has blue furs on it. 5. The other Huggies are just mini version of himself but way smaller which is in the same size of adult bodies. 6. Poppy is acting friendly to us at first only to acting cold after she learns we killed Mommy Long Legs and yeah, she might going to betray us in the end. 7. There's Kissy Missy, a female version of Huggy Wuggy who helped the player to open the door and then she left. Either she's like Boris from Bendy who is a mute supporting character or she's acting nice at first only to kill the player next.
I've never really been into Poppy's Playtime, but I'll always stay for a GT video- ALSO American Girl Dolls are horrifying, you're right. Even as a young girl I was terrified at night of them and would lock them in my closet...

For your theory on mommy long legs getting more legs is highly plausible, the holes on the limbs are more for the air compression that comes with toys that have bendy wires for the limbs

Poppy Playtime is genuinely one of the coolest games I’ve seen in awhile. I’m really disappointed to learn more about this bad NFT stuff about Enchantedmob, glad MatPat did call them out in this video. I hope the fans will knock some sense into them soon because this game series has loads of potential

this game is so reminiscent of many games. the random invitation, the inanimate objects coming to life, the company workplace employees “disappearing”, the character that “seems like they’re helping you”, the character we play as who agrees to come back, the slaughter of the character that made us do tasks prior, ... edit: hey. that kinda sounds like batim
it doesn't sound like bendy and the ink machine. it's a very common story arc in general, in games as well as in other forms of media. just because two games share something doesn't automatically mean one is stealing from the other. it's important to consider the greater context.

TBH I hope that this particular theory is true, or at least the first part - about the Playtime toys eating each other, and about Mommy Long Legs upgrading herself with parts from those other toys. There's just something so awesome about that idea, so *appealing*. Also thank u MatPat for denouncing NFTs and the general practices of MOB games. I hope they do better in the future.
