For night trap, the game was originally planned to be on a playable tape. Tapes store data just like other devices and can technically play games, but discs are better

That does feel like you truly need a special player for it, though. Tapes have stored games and such in the past. It's just that they're audio cassettes for C64's and such. I couldn't imagine being able to make a VHS tape directly control what an ordinary VCR does as it's playing.

The monster is the one putting the tapes in. I restored movement to the in-game camera in a video a few months back and the monster is sitting within the room right in front of the TV. It's pretty creepy!

Matpat just gave me an idea when speaking about the monster’s “nodes” on its head. In the beginning, eyes are scratched out on the poster of the children. The background has things with eyes on them. When Amanda starts to get possessed, her eyes either hollow out or flip inside out. The nodes on the monster’s head could be the collected eyes of its victims, representing the souls imprisoned in the tapes.

Really glad he jumped on the theory wagon for this one. Crazy how this game is getting a lot of attention despite it being indie horror jam. The dev himself was surprised as well and they (him and his team) really weren’t planning on making it grand tbh in the first place but yeah.

When I first saw gameplay of this, I was like "An interactive VHS tape? There must be something supernatural going on here." I could see this being turned into a TV show geared towards adults instead of the children shows like this were usually made for. It was surprisingly interesting and unsettling.

I was under the impression that there is more than one Woolie in the new update. It could just be a case of different voice actor, but I feel that Woolie is the one that keeps being replaced, as there are two different ways he dies; the first being the butcher (where he has a more cartoony voice) and the second in the woods (his voice sounds more like a real person).
Coming back to this now that MatPat has made his new theory video, I think that the picture of the "brother and sister" in the corner is actually Sam and Rebecca. It would still follow the theory of them being related, and would still fall in line with both of them referring to grandma as "grandma", since parents often use the familial title that their children are familiar with around their children.
Matpat's "Say the right answer!" was honestly hilarious and terrifying.

it really shows how much effort they put into it, even making a new logo for game theory themed around the game.
Lately they've been varying the Game Theory logo/intro based on the topic. Minecraft videos feature Minecraft animation (and a logo to match), while FNAF videos feature static and general creepiness.

I love how this theory plays out. It seems to fit right and there set much more to say, except... I feel as though "Grandma" (mentioned in tapes 1 and 2) has some sort of importance? I mean, I'm most likely wrong, but the fact that there seems to be some sort of character familiarity in there feels odd. Amanda uses Grandma as an excuse to bring about the death of Woolie but the fact that Woolie has some evidence about the supposed Grandma to retaliate with just feels weird to me.

The computer game interface for Amanda is a call-back to Dora, whose first few seasons had the conceit that Dora was actually a character in a computer game. This is why there was an on-screen mouse cursor at times. It also tied into the character's name, being a play on both _exploradora_ (explorer) and _computadora_ (computer).

I'll explain some more So Amanda's real name is Rebecca she Is forced to say and do Everything. The grandma's name is Kate. Amanda's dad is sam He got killed by the producers. Rebecca or such as noted as Amanda was forced to say demons names! If you actually Look more into it Rebecca doesn't have any siblings. Amanda was adopted and her dad sam didn't want The producers to force her to say those things. Rebecca Is trapped in a basement and she only comes up when they need. Edit: yes I liked my own comment

For instance, what if Mat is a in-game character who can seemingly influence the player into going into a haunted Minecraft house? And then he unleashes his monsters to eat up the player. In real life, the AI would power the fictional MatPat's words and actions. The AI would predict what the player would do next, and it would constantly be inventing words and actions that would persuade the gamer to follow Mat's agenda, leading to the desired tragic outcome.

11:15 when I was a kid I had my brain studied using those caps. I was perfectly content with getting to play games for a couple hours and earn a prize at the end. The cap itself wasn’t so nice though, it felt like they put some kind of slime of something into the holes and was pretty uncomfortable until you got used to it.
