    • Same years ago…Sammy was invited in Bucharest/Romania…from kiokusin karate federatio!One guy from gym provoke Sammy to fight more realistic and the dude colapse from one kick…never stand!the guy died from one kick..that how power the Duch tower have!Personaly i dont like the dude…have zero charisma and simpaty!

  • Bjorn quit it seems. Getting dropped once by a (double) jab is somewhat strange, but getting dropped and finished by another jab in the sam fight seems fishy. Particularly considering how he went down. It didn't look like a talented fighter getting finished, but a talented fighter quitting.

    • No, Sem Schilt lost the first fight against Badr Hari in "its Showtime 2009" This was there second fight in K1 GP december 2009. This was Sem Schilt's revenge, and won the K1 GP 2009. If you don't know, better don't talk shit.

  • He could have been truly legendary if he hadn't been so careful in the ring. During his training he was a beast that impressed everyone. That beastly thing didn't come out in the ring. That's a shame, but he belongs to the greatest of all. The Dutch were dominant in K1 but also in other martial arts. There is something in the water there (and they have lot,s of water) And on top of that, the Dutch are mentally extreemly strong. Unfortunately, the Dutch left-wing government has greatly hindered the martial arts to the point that it no longer produces champions. And that's a bad thing because there is still a lot of talent ready to kick ass.

    • Miss it like crazy ... There is nothing out there that comes close. The prize money, the top fighters. It was dominated by the Dutch fighters (17 of the 19 GP's won by Dutch fighters if I remember correctly) and I think the Japanese hosts became fat up with that.

  • As good as Semmy was, he's only an inch or two taller than Tyson Fury, and that just shows how good Tyson Fury is for his size becuase he moves and boxes on a completely different level to Semmy Schilt, in fact most top end boxer do and the K1 is nothing more than a freak show.

  • It was never an even fight with Schilt. . He had at least equal skill and a massive height, weight and reach advantage. No other fighter of his size had a skillset even close to Schilt. And I’m not even a fan of Schilt. I think his fights were boring, as he was so much superior than any of his opponents.

    • Through all these fights it is felt that to win against the giant you've got to have a tactic ... Fedor chose to bring him on the ground to cancel the height difference .... Badr chose to give it all from the start so as to not let Semmy tire him .... and Le Banner chose the close range combat to not let him hit from a distance ...
