Even when he became as sick as he did, he kept on going strong till the very end!! The live aid concert truly shows this. Despite being deadly ill, Freddie kept on to the very end.

It’s just not his voice, It was everything about him he was a whole vibe. When he sang he didn’t just sing he felt in every note and you felt in your soul.

    • George Michael was totally channeling Freddie when he performed “Somebody to Love” at Freddie’s memorial concert (The Mercury Phoenix Trust, in 1992) even down to drawing in the audience to sing it along with him. He hit every note perfectly too. It didn’t hurt that Brian, Roger and John were doing the background vocals. Just them and Freddie could make it sound like a large chorus of singers, or as Freddie said, “It’s the Queen sound.” The rest of the stars who sang didn’t do as well as George. He got the audience up on their feet and involved. Amazing performance.
