Haulover boats on a rough and wavy day at Haulover Inlet. Some captains decided to slow roll their pass, which resulted in major plops and stuffings! Enjoy the video.

Please don’t call them “captains” and denigrate those that are licensed. Skippers would be more appropriate.
In America you guys like lifejackets, here in the netherlands we dont use them much (i do need to have lifejackets on board for everyone but we dont need to wear them and not many even wear them) but yea you guys do go in to sea in the netherlands its just lakes and rivers..

@@The_Sword3 No mate, he was off the throttles before the revs climbed and if you are hitting the limiters everytime the props are out you can't drive.
@@marvindebot3264 exactly. Watch the cockpit view during a race. Throttle man is constantly on and off in heavy chop.
At those speeds and those waves? Way more than a rev-limiter. Would have been disaster for a novice.

That wasn't pounding!!!! That thing landed very softly and the driver clearly knows what he is doing.

That type of chop is not the same as the smooth consistent rollers that you can just skip a crossed further out in the ocean!

The red top legend is amazing! Would really like to see an interview with him and his experiences on his Whaler! He “doesn’t need a bigger boat...”! I think he’s the only captain I would trust through that inlet! Beautiful azure waters or is that the extremely hi quality videography equipment!?

Respect to the Searay at 8:17. Had the passengers in the back, kept that bow up and picked a good line. That man knows how to drive a boat.

that was some damn nice throttle work on 1980's Cigarette (first boat). You can hear those rpm drop every time that boat leaves the water and go right back up just on re-entry.
I’m not the type that ever feels the need to say, “there outta be a law” but WOW! The boats that have children in them without life vests on, bouncing uncontrollably within the boat as the adults laugh and think they’re just having fun is unbelievable. It may not be seen in any of these videos but one kid hitting their head on any solid structure in the boat and then getting flung overboard is totally within the realm of possibilities. How long would it take to notice what has happened, turn the boat around, find a small, dark object in the waves and current, gain and maintain control of the boat and retrieve an unconscious body into the boat where first aid and potentially the initial breaths of rescue breathing can be given? A life changing event can totally be prevented by putting a sexy, $35 life vest on your damn kid as you race your $300,000 dollar toy through a notoriously rough inlet. I just don’t get it and have a hard time respecting anyone who would be so thoughtless and careless with something so precious. Seems some of these people are more concerned about their boats than ruining someone’s life in the blink of an eye.

Boston Whaler @6:28 looked like the only one that wasn't there to be seen ... and one of if not the best approach.
Dangling in the bow is a throwable floating device the coast guard requires you to have onboard(other then life vests). A lot of boats out here seem to use mats, the pads are more of a west coast thing.
Enjoy watching these. Still amazed at how many people with kids don't use a ;life vest.

It’s a well raft 220coastal great hull doesn’t nose dive into the waves. I have one with a Honda BF200 love it 😊
That mystery boat is a Pro-line walk around. Maybe an aquasport. The Trophy 2002 looks really similar but the port holes on the cuddy are rectangles instead of oval.
I've never ran a poweboat in the ocean but coming into a channel in big water is the same where ever you boat. I live on lake Michigan but the roughest water I ever seen or navigated was lake Erie during a northeast gale.

The boat @5:00 did a great job goin in the inlet. He trimmed up his motor to raise the bow, probably lifted the tabs and nailed the perfect speed. Not his first time through. A+
