I was married & he cheated.. The Red Flags & How I Healed -Storytime

This is the most personal video I have ever shared- I briefly touch on my story, but I want to share with you the red flags (I missed) and how I healed (and learnt to trust again) so hopefully, you don't end up in the same situation.
We were together for over 7 years.. so when he cheated on me, it broke my heart. He married her, months after our divorce (so he wouldn't lose his Australian citizenship), so the affair had been going on for a long time.
If you are going through this, my heart goes out to you.. I hope this story encourages you, and lets you know there is hope, and you will be happy again. I love you.

  • There's no such thing as a perfect marriage or relationship; they're all unique. What works for Adam may not necessarily work for Peter. Nonetheless, I've learned that there's always a solution to every problem. Five years ago, my wife and I were on the verge of divorce due to challenges in our marriage, but we managed to reconcile. It was a tough time, but we persevered.

  • If this women is getting cheated on - it’s pure evidence that a man that wants to cheat will no matter what. It has NOTHING to do with girls getting comfortable or not “getting ready” every day or bla bla. Cheaters will cheat. Doesn’t matter how great or pretty or perfect you are. It’s not your fault. It’s their (the cheaters) problem.

    • As a woman, I would never step into another woman's marriage and I find those women disgusting. However, if it happened to me, I would say nothing, change my locks, neatly pack his crap and put it on the porch with pictures of the them together. And all that would be after I had filed for divorce and had tons of proof. If I ever ran into the other woman, I would thank her for taking out my trash.

    • Man is mostly too blame, but you don't have to exchange the vows to know what is morally acceptable and wrong. Your attitude is purely selfish and immature. Having sex with married man or the man who has family is wrong regardless. Seems like you were in the other woman shoes since you defend such a bad behaviour.

  • People cheat because they want something they can’t have. Doesn’t matter what their partner is like. They can be stunning inside and out. People get bored and then want to partake in something inappropriate to get a thrill by chasing someone else they know they shouldn’t. It’s like people who save up to buy a new car, are happy for a day, and then want to buy a new house. There will always be something more. There will always be something better. If you’re that kind of person, don’t be in a relationship. It’s super easy to not be in a relationship. It’s 2021. Screw a different person every day. It doesn’t matter. But don’t tell someone you love them and then chase after someone else. If you’re not happy, leave. That’s it.

As soon as they call you ‘CRAZY’ the next thought would be: ‘HE’S DEFINITELY CHEATING!’ Calling you ‘Crazy’ is Rule #1 when a cheater is trying to get the attention off of HIM. This type of gaslighting happened to me when I was young & dumb. It initially caused me to doubt my intuition. 😂 Now I see it’s just a pathetic tactic used by a cheater who was clearly 100% a LOSER. Whenever they think you are on their trail, they turn the tables and try to put the spotlight on YOU. For people high on the scale of Narcissism, if they can also get YOU to apologize for your ‘sin’ of accusing them - they WON THE LOTTERY. Cheaters are MASTER liars and manipulators. That goes double if they are high on the scale of Narcissism.

It’s important to be open with your new spouse about your past, but that doesn’t mean they will continue to do it over and over over. Some do some don’t. It’s a case by case basis. Your generalized view of someone’s past mistakes that they will do that again, and can’t possibly ever change or grow is sad. No one can change a person’s harmful behavior but themselves. And if they are continuing to do something that means it works for them, it’s to their advantage and to your disadvantage.

  • The secrecy with the phone is a huge one for me! I had a few dodgy ex’s, and personally was never one to be interested in looking at their phone. But I noticed with two of my ex’s, they were very careful to not leave their phone lying around, and did similar things - like the facing away to respond to a text. It always ended up making me want to check their phone, and sure enough, both times I then found evidence of cheating. I’ve been with my hubby for 11 years now, and I never feel the need to look at his phone period, nor do I want to even out of curiosity! I think if you’re feeling the need to check your partners phone, then there is def red flags!

God bless the broken road! I was in a long term relationship with someone who I constantly caught in lies. I used to be paranoid that he was cheating on me - until one day I realized that it didnt matter. No matter if he did or didn’t cheat I trusted in myself that I would always be okay. “A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking because her trust is not in the branch, but in her own wings.” 🌈

  • I’m so sorry this happened to you, Robbi. I don’t know if this helps much, but you looked radiant in this video- both from your glowing skin and the amount of self reflection that you’ve been doing. You filmed this so confidently. Hoping you find things in life that continue to excite you. And so grateful for sharing your experience here. These are really useful signs and it’s possible that this could save someone from continuing to put up with a toxic partner. 🌻🌞☁️

  • This sounds painful. It takes courage to leave someone. I read somewhere that ending a trauma bond is like withdrawing from drugs. It takes courage to stand your ground and stick with your decision. Proud of you gorgeous! You deserve much much better

    • I stayed drunk for 6 months bc I couldn't handle it, I finally healed and saw a pic of him in my memories yesterday and cried for the first time in a long time. I was married to a lie, he pretended to love me but secretly hated me and told people awful rumors about me while we were married and I didn't find out til after plus he was taking his mistress around our friends and justified it by saying I was cheating on him. I don't know who I was married to, for real sleeping with the enemy.
