    • Why tho? Nate is psychopath. Serial killer vibe. Because he's attractive? Tall, athletic, good looking, bad boy vibe? I know case about a pretty cheerleader who got shot by her crazy jock bf. I wonder if the case inspired Maddie and Nate's character.

      @aubreysong@aubreysong Жыл бұрын
    • @@lakshitadash4205 I dealt with the same thing. One day the emotions i was trying to keep inside of me broke out and I ended up breaking up with them. Now they’re an ex and I really want to get back together, but they basically said that they didn’t want to because they realized how badly they hurt me and they are worried that it will continue if we try again. That apology happened a month after the breakup. I know I don’t want to be in pain and I know that my ex will probably never change but I was so happy on our calm days. I have never been happier before our relationship began or since it ended than how I was when I was in the relationship. I’ll admit, I felt 100x more suicidal when I was in the relationship too, but I would never tell that to my ex because the chances of us dating again would become 0%

  • I quite like how euphoria kinda messes up your mind with each character. Especially these two. At the start I was like, okay he's a bit extreme but they really care about each other. Then you find out about what a dick nate is, then about his childhood and your emotions are pulled in a thousand different directions. This show really captures the complexity of not just abuse, but life in general. I definitely don't think they're relationship should be romanticised but it was interesting to watch.

    • Yeah..it's so hard because on one hand they can be caring and sweet and you see that they have so much potential for becoming a "good" person but then they are equally manipulative aggressive and outbursting and you are simply overwhelmed with these character traits combined in one body and mind. I've been in a toxic sort a relationship for 6 years- he was my first love- and it was a living hell..and soooo addictive..after every fight and emotionally abusive situation i was waiting for his good side to show and when it happend i was so happy and thrilled by this positive behaviour. Till it started all over again. An absolute horrific episode of my life.

      @mirjampeter3962@mirjampeter39622 жыл бұрын
    • @@mirjampeter3962 exactly, I'm married to one. And it's exactly how you described. I'm not romanticizing it but also, i know what my husband went through when he was younger, and ya I do sympathize with it and ya I do let alot of his abuse slide because of it, because guess what, despite what anyone says EVERYONE deserves to be loved, especially the ones that have had a rough past. I'm not saying it's ok to be the punching bag, I think you need to stand up for yourself, and after 10 years, I finally am standing up, and guess what, my husband sure is changing because I dont let it slide anymore. I make sure to let him know if he does it again I will leave. And yes, that's what happened. I wasn't afraid to leave. I left. And even though we are together again he knows I am not afraid to live without him. That's scares the shit out of him, because he has no one else in this world that cares about him, except me and the kids, and if he loses us, he loses everything. He is defenetly changeing over the years. But it can for sure be hard. Not just physically but mentally. I understand why a person doesnt want to be with someone like Nate. But also, I understand why someone like maddy is loyal to a fault. No one is 100% bad, everyone has a good side and I think that's why we hold on.

      @miaqueen9578@miaqueen95782 жыл бұрын
    • @@miaqueen9578 oh wow..thank you for sharing your story! I wish you all the best.. And that you keep on healing and growing! It was exactly the same with my boyfriend! Very traumatic past and stuff like that..and he tried and worked hard on himself..but the gamechanger lies (as you said) within knowing and respecting your own boundaries, knowing your worth and taking care of yourself and of course always pointing out abusive patterns and never ever let them slide under the radar. Then one can finally gain inner freedom, is not dependant on the partner anymore and as a result- is creating a healthy relationship base for their part. BUT i think a relationship with these people is only possible if they see and are able to reflect on their abusive behaviour and are willing to change and work hard on themselves! Otherwise it's a waste of time and nerves and emotional stability and energy of course! Me personally I'm not willing to put that much energy and effort in a partner again. In the end it's your live and health and your choice with whom you wanna spend it.

    • The show gives a perfect representation of a toxic relationship. It doesn't matter how bad it gets, they will always end up back together because theres still those good moments. So it's no surprise that people ship or romanticize, especially people that are younger and don't have a good understanding of a toxic relationship. But I definitely agree about the part, where it's not okay to normalise these relationships.

Always assumed i cheated even raped me. Never ever let yourself think any of this is ok. Im happily divorced now with a man that treats me like a queen and he is a king.
