This song was made for them, their relationship is toxic, nate is controlling, mean, manipulative and abusive and he doesn't deserve maddy. This video isn't supposed to be cute, I'm not romanticizing their relationship.

    • You learn stuff like this as a teenager so when your an adult you call it flat out disrespectful but that’s only if your in a relationship BUT if your not and someone is just using you for a ladder up then that’s when it becomes abusive bc not only is it unwarranted but it’s barbaric to say the LEAST especially when u just wanna be left alone and let folks do them while you do you but that can’t happen bc their using u as a crutch bc somebody gotta look like their being played when in fact that’s not the game that’s really being played which is why most people can’t be cool bc 1 is always trying to look like the 1 that moved on while the other look stuck and that’s not even it...I swear I’m in a situation similar and the only thing that hurt is when u ain’t never sweat a nigga in ya life but u gotta sit back and watch a nigga act like he playing you by constantly attaching you to his Bullcrap when u just want it to be DONE & everybody part ways that’s why a nigga can’t pay me to f#ck raw bc it’s so bad I don’t even want nomore kids at this point bc ain’t no way 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • That's pretty.. Stupid. The only reason why you could love an abuser is when the abuse isn't wrong in your eyes. It's when you're innocent and naive. But when you know that his beating is not what you deserve and don't justify it with his anger or issues. You no longer love him. I can't imagine anyone in my life being fond of their Abusive partner

Don't make excuses for the other person mistreating you. Don't think you deserve pain from someone who is supposed to care about you. Don't place someone so highly because they give you nice things and make you feel good once in awhile. If the bad days start to outweigh the good it's time to leave.

    • I know how it feels to be in a toxic relationship 😔. Seeing him with other people pissed me off. It made me feel like I was nothing and all I did for him meant nothing. When summer was over and I saw him at school I mostly ignored him but couldn't help to admire and observe him all together. I know that it's toxic but there were good times too. And sometimes I wish I could have him back and feel him like it was my first. I try not to stress, cry, and be sad over him or the whole situation but this...this really took me back to the beginning.💔 It hurts to put on the big girl shoes and walk away from what you believed was true love. I prayed to God daily to bring me my husband and waited for so long. Going back and forth between him and being alone I didn't know if God was telling me that this was mine and I just needed to work it out, or a test to see if I was strong enough to let go. 😶

  • i really like how euphoria takes a really toxic and abusive relationship and turns it into something more, showing all the sides and feelings that people like nate and maddy go through. you can clearly see they care for each other, but in a very toxic and sophisticated manner. there's no such thing as "then why don't you just leave?", if a person like maddy has been in a toxic relationship for so long that she's used to it and, even worse, she's in love with the abuser, it layers reasons on and on and on about why they can't "just leave". it's sort of refreshing to see an actual accurate portrayal of long lasting toxic relationships and it shows the viewers that while the abuser themself might be in actual love with the person they're abusing, (hence, nate) it doesn't dismiss anything or make it "hot" or "sexy" or "tragically beautiful". it's a serious matter that should be dealt with and i feel like euphoria really knows and is really trying hard to teach people how to spot symptoms of an abusive relationship. hopefully we'll learn more and get more useful things in the next season.

  • Honestly I’m so glad I watched euphoria, it has taught me what is a toxic relationship because I was in a 2 years term (2017-2019) relationship with my first boyfriend/Love (we started dating the beginning of freshman year), it was always so on and off to the point it we would still hook up even if we were broken up as well when we were dating someone/seeing other people we still would hook up together just like Nate and Maddy but during our relationship it was terrible constant fighting and trust was gone. There was not a day where we wouldn’t fight or argue, it turned more into fights and lust just like Nate and Maddy. Just like Nate he would yell at me making me feel horrible about myself, stop talking to me leaving me so numb but he would still call me over and me being stupid always taking him back. I cried everyday for a month because the way he would yell at me, the way he would leave me over and over but still taking him back and how he made me feel stupid as well look like an idiot at school. It finally ended October 2019 when we were in his room and he pushed me against the wall as well shaking me around, throwing my stuff and telling me horrible things, I was sobbing so bad after I ran out crying. We blocked each other on media as well avoided any contact in person thankfully he went to a different school a month before this happened but just like maddy the violet didn’t scare her but what scared her was that no matter what he did she will still love him , that’s how I felt at first but a couple weeks later I watched euphoria seeing Nate and Maddys relationship made me feel so much better because I could not feel happier leaving that toxic relationship and it truly did open my eyes that it was nothing but toxic and bad for me and my mental health. If you or anyone else if in a toxic relationship please get some help it’s not okay at all to be those type of relationships it’s best to stop and it end it now before it gets worse I promise as much you/they don’t want to it’s for the best and you will truly feel better and free leaving the toxic behind.

  • This video really hits home to me that I find myself watching it mostly every day... it makes me sad because I can relate but it’s soothing aswell? I guess it’s saddening because I’ve been in Maddy’s position but it’s soothing to know I’m not alone.

  • This edit is just purely amazing. I always wonder why people can’t just walk away from an abusive, toxic relationship? Like it’s not that hard. But in reality, it is THAT hard, probably the hardest thing to do.

  • Love everything about this edit cause it once again shows how bad and tragic and toxic this relationship is. I never thought about Nate and Maddie for this song because I always had Cassie and McKay in mind when I heard the lyrics but it does fit Maddie in a different way. Great Job!

  • Wow. Your editing is on point, absolutely perfectly! Out of all the characters in the show, these two actors really impressed me the most. Their acting was so real and raw, and they really showcased the addictive side to a toxic and abuse relationship with a lot of respect i think. Anyways, a brilliant work of editing, love all your videos of the show, and hopefully maybe you’ll make a Maddy edit too, focusing on her character, because you’d really nail that too!!

  • I find it so sad that a lot of people can relate to this kind of relationship. Even I can relate. And it is true; it isn’t the violence that scares you, it is the fact that no matter what he does you still love him. And even tough I am done with him, I still love him with my whole hearth. I would do anything for him, even catch his beatings.
