  • There's another downside of using the gyro. You'd need to film at a much higher fps, since the stabilization tends to artifact on blur. So, you loose motion blur, and you will struggle more in low light environments.

  • Its great but the rolling shutter is horrible. It would have been my favorite camera if it had decent rolling shutter performance. It is a 7/10 hybrid camera for me. On photo side there is not much more you can want except a faster burst rate like 15 frames per second considering canon r6 is super fast. But video side heavy crop on 4k 60 and bad rolling shutter. No open gate option. Just can’t give it higher then 7 for that reason especially with so many options today. Very good camera cant go wrong with it

  • When he started I thought he was going to say there was a major defect. Look like it is just one video mode and a button issues is all he could find wrong. This still sounds like a very positive review. Am I missing something?

    • a tighter focal length will naturally give you a shallower depth of field. I really like the 70-200 from sony. or the 85mm

  • I find that the a7iv jpg do not give good colors in artificial light especially for the skin tones even when trying many white balance options and tuning. Do you suggest a way to overcome this annoying issue?

    • Lenses are very important. The sony a7Iv also has alot more data when shooting in the right codec

  • Dude, the slide you moved to remove noise is the noise COLOR slide, that only removes the color noise created by the pixels of the sensor. You have to use the slide "Luminance" to actually remove noise.

    • I like the regular grain and texture of the image. just don't like the color artifacting. removing the texture also makes it look too smooth and plastic like and requires compensation by adding sharpness

    • Gerald undone has a good review video up. The Sony GM 1.4 is the best if price isn't an issue. Sigma 1.4 DG DN right behind it if you'd prefer to save a few bucks.

  • lumix s5 ii & canon r6 ii are the direct competitors , i was considered to buy a7iv but finally end up with lumix s5 ii reason >> no overheating fan integrated , C4k & 6k 10 bit , 96mp pic , 30fps burst shoot , best image stabilisation & direct LUT implement in the camera 😎

  • I'm teaching online, and I need an excellent mirrorless camera. Will Sony A7 IV overheat if I stream for 5 hours straight at 1080p / 60 fps? Will it survive for 10 years if I stream for 5 hours daily?

  • I got my a7IV for almost 3 weeks now and I am really satisfied (but still keeping my a7R III). Do you think that 4K 60fps does affect the aperture? I mean, when using Super35 we know that the focal length changed by 1.5 factor, 24mm becomes 36mm. What about the aperture, when opened up to f/2.8 will it record with the f/5.6 effect?

    • If photography is as important to you as video the a7IV might be the better option (my choice). But if video is a priority the a7S3 or fx3. BTW- at 24/30 fps the a7IV is sharper than the a7S3.

    • one of the best for sure. Like someone might say the a7rV is the best because its 60mp or the gfx 100s is better because its 100mp. but i think its on the team for best cameras

I love the design of this camera, and the custom buttons seem to be a big plus. But yeah that toggle switch issue indeed seems like it could be annoying.
