I was waiting for this video! Thanks for making it! I am thinking on going full frame and doing exactly what you said, starting changing my APSC lenses slowly....
Go for it!
Awesome video, love seeing the compairson on these cameras, it was actually your a6700 videos that convinced me to but the a6700 as my first miroless camera and I am loving it so far.
It is a great camera ☺️
Great job on the video! Thanks for making it.
Thanks ☺️
A wonderful comparison video. Very informative and entertaining. Great job.
Just came across your channel! Helpful and I love how much personality you bring to the video, great stuff mate!
Awesome comparison i just wonder what lenses did you used for the A6700 on this video?
I have an fx30 and a a6000 and I just bought the a6700 today. A great new brother.
Such a nice little camera ☺️ congratulations 🙌🏻
nice stack man! which one would you pick for shooting cinematic gym videos/photos? im trying to dive into this realm lol
@@tygerthecreator2860go a head and take sony zve1
@@zrahutkay6758 i went for sony a6700
why have the 6700 and the fx30 ... same sensor. minor differences, no ?
I looked at both cameras in the shop and decided to go for A6700, it came down to price, for the extra money and what I use the camera for, it wasn’t worth getting the A7c2. I’m not a pro photographer, just enjoy taking photos when walking around. Love the camera though, it’s amazing
Keep it up, bro!. Amazing content as usual.
Appreciate it!
Thank you for the video. I actually currently own both but I don’t really shoot video. Both great but find some of the small APS-C lenses are special and ultra portable like sigma’s 10-18/2.8 and 18-50/2.8 DC DN Contemporary pair and the Sony E 70-350 G OSS lens (for zoom). So we will see.
I really enjoy this video, i have an a6000 with some apsc lenses, and i don't know if upgrade with a6700 or a7c2.. i could use my lens on a7c2 in apsc mode to start, but i don't if quality will go down too much
Great video! Thanks for sharing! One thing that it wasnt mentioned in the video is that A7CII has only electronic shutter and Electronic-First Curtain Shutter (meanwhile A6700 is equipped with full mechanical shutter and others). Dont know whether it is important for other ppl, but that was actually dealbreaker for me.
In what situations would the mechanical shutter benefit you, just a curious noob
Great comparison. I made the switch to fullframe about a year ago and it was the right decision for me, but for a LOT of people I think APS-C is the better choice. APS-C cameras can be incredibly good.
🤘🏻
You've literally blown my mind! I was just wondering the comparison of these two "bad boys" and then you post the video🤣🤣
😂😂
Great comparison....how is the rolling shutter on both these cameras ?
I can't remember what you said but was all these clips filmed using the stock lenses & with no filters?
No mention of the overheating issues on the a6700? Have they been addressed in a recent firmware update?
I went for the a7cII because I think it will pay off in the long run (I do photography mostly, videos…what are those?). I like the idea of having such a compact full frame sensor and for night photography is so great! I had a sony rx100vii to which was a tiny little beast and I decided to step it up to full frame. But if I could go back in time (or my suggestion to anyone who wants to have a solid first step into photography) is the a6700 for sure! (Also btw check the prices. In my country Switzerland the difference in price between the two was not so great, weird!)
It’s a really nice camera ☺️ has almost all the perks, small and a great ff 🙌🏻
I also live in Switzerland and I'm thinking of taking an a7cii. In any case I'd need to change all my lenses as I come from Canon.
@@RNWLLah cool, I live in sweden though
Founded your 2 videos about cameras. Previously owned a Canon 6D and long time ago a Nikon 3100-3200 version. I am designer and always loved a photography and video editing. On my Unsplash account I have over 7+ Million views and mostly pictures was taken on my iPhone 11 Pro. I always dreamed about a camera to take photos and film some videos but never got into this purchase serious. You made my understandings easier about camera comparison, quality and budget. I will try probably A6700 for now and see how it will work. It will be enough for now. Thank you so much for this information. You helped me a lot to understand the Sony Market (I always dreamed about A7s3 or latest versions) but my budget is not that big and I am not doing very professional photos (it's not my job) so I don't see a point investing so much just for a camera to travel and take images and upload them on Unsplash for memories :) Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and happy I could help you ☺️ I hope you’ll end up finding the perfect camera for you!
Thanks for this! Also thanks for making it entertaining haha
But how does it look on FF sensors without the apsc mode on? Is it like the Sony 10-18 F4 that you can basically use on FF as well despite it being an apsc lens?
WOW! What a timely video. I was just thinking about this comparison. I just bought the a7Cii for video & backup, as well as, my travel camera to my main a7RV. A few things to note about the A7Cii: IMO, the aesthetics on the A7Cii (silver) is really nice, Sony added the "AI" processing that greatly helps AWB which improves colors & skin tones (A7iv skin tones aren't as good).
A7CII is a great choice :) I really like that camera, and as you said it's like the a7iv but better. The only thing is lack of 2 sd cards, and some poeple don't like the smaller VF. But I like the small body, and the aesthetics is really nice indeed!
Great video my friend - super original!! Couple things you missed is A7Cii has S-Cinetone which is an amazing picture profile, also shoots in 6K downsampled to very sharp 4K video due to its 33mp resolution. Also the new AI chip has that auto-framing feature that can follow you around like a cameraman. Better in low-light too. Can add LUTS easily and an amazing new menu ! Love your style!!!!! 📸
Thanks for the video, helped me a bit in my decision. Low-light / iso comparison would've been cool.
Ah you sre totally right! Will keep that in mind next time ☺️
I have my eyes on the A6700. Do you experience any overheating issues when filming? I don't plan to shoot anything crazy. I don't need 10 bit color and I don't need 4k 60. Love your videos!
I have the A7RV and the A6700 and they seem perfectly suited. Am tempted at some point to swap the A6700 for the A7CR so would love to see a comparison to know if the jump in price is worth it. Any chance?
The a7cr vs a6700? 👀
Hi late to the party, could you kindly help me out if I pair apsc lens with full frame boy in low light situation will full frame perform better in terms of noise? No pixel peaking. I'm considering about Sony 70-350mm for light weight and budget options. Thanks in advance 😅
I love you attitude, my friend!
Great video. I love the blind comparison, but would really appreciate if you used equivalent depth of field as well as focal lengths/colors, or if you just mixed up which side was which camera. The first photo in your blind compare series had a much shallower depth of field on the left than the right, which is usually a giveaway that it is the full-frame. DOF is obviously a potential advantage of full frame over aps-c, but a lot of people will be able to afford the a6700 with a f/1.4 aps-c lens for the same price as an a7cii with a f/1.8 or f/2 lens, and often even less money (e.g., a6700 + sigma f/1.4 series lens is cheaper than a7cii with sigma f/2 series lens). So it'd be nice to see a compare where the effective apertures are the same.
Yea you are right, f1.4 on apsc isn't like f1.4 on ff :) will keep this in mind for the future, to have them the exact same
Awesome, and thanks again for a great video! I actually preferred the a6700 photos for the most part, especially the landscapes. Not sure why, but they seemed to have more pop.@@thaticelandicguy
I am planning to buy my first camera. I have used my friend's a6400 before. I am really confused between a7c and a6700. Photography is just a hobby for me. Might do some professional work in future. So which one would you suggest considering everything, cause a6700 has a new sensor and AI Chip as well.
The A7C II has the same new AI Chip as well as a 33mp sensor
the comparison photos were quite interesting. I could not see a difference on the landscape pictures, but in portraits the separation from background and background blur is different. The left looks better and more separated. I assume the better separation is the full frame sensor. Right? I guess you used also comparable aperture settings.
I stopped the video to write the question in the comments right before you actually revealed what camera is what side. Sorry for that. I should watch the entire video before commenting. But I was also kind of right and this means for certain use cases there is a difference.
I like both of them but wish the both had a joy stick for maneuvering the focus point.
agree!
What if they were the same cost? I'm looking at getting a new camera and am leaning towards the a7cii. I will be doing photography primarily. Im thi king of pairing it with the sony g 16-35 f4
it all comes down to if you want ff or apsc :) but the a7cii is a great choice!
can you do a a6700 vs a7iii. i feel that its better to pick a6700 than a7iii
Nice Video félagi, would you say it's worth it to upgrade from the Sony ZVE-10 to the A6700 ?
Yes that’s a great upgrade ☺️
Absolutely
Speaking from experience - yes! Hang on to your ZVE10 if you can as it is an excellent b or c cam!
Very entertaining video, thank-you. As a fellow Sony fan-boy, I currently have the A7R4 and A6700 for my expensive hobby. Many folks criticised the A6700 when it was released for being as bulky as a full-frame camera (compared to say the NEX-7 or A6000). But, as you pointed out, it costs much less and still performs outstandingly well. Personally I like a body with a bit of weight (cameras, not people) and find I'm using the A6700 more than the A6600 it replaced (kudos to Sony for moving up to a full-frame battery).. You're right, Sony's decision to make all NEX lenses work on all bodies, regardless of sensor size was inspired. APS-C lenses can be a lot lighter and the A6700 with 16-55/2.8 APS-C G-Master lens is a killer combination and (relatively) small & light - if i want truly small & light, I use an RX-100.. As for dual SD card slots - I don't think space is an issue, more to do with not impinging on their higher priced cameras - we're already getting a lot of that tasty up-marker tech in the colour-science, autofocus and image processing on these 'enthusiast' cameras, we mustn't be greedy. That said, I wouldn't want to shoot a wedding with a singe card-slot - it would be like going back to film!! Keep up the good work my friend. your country's scenery is outstandingly beautiful and you clearly have an eye for beauty..
Where are overheating and rolling shutter tests, bro? Low light performance also could be nice to see...
The grip differs between those two more than I thought: I had an a6700 for some time and wanted to switch to a7cII. Only to notice that they reduced the grip size. My smallish hands could hold the a6700 well. The a7cii however is built for about 1 to 1.5 cm shorter fingers. Why didn't they just keep the a6700 grip 😒
Both are beasts depending on your type of shooting! Love my a6700 though 😅
My first mirrorless camera sony A6700. Its good camera. Not any complain with price range. I love it.
I haven’t noticed that the a7cii has extra dial, thanks for pointing it out
np!
Very good video 👏🏻
Just got the a6700 and loving it so far!!
Great camera!
The A7C II has 204,800 ISO as well. Dont know if you got them mixed up or something but, yeah
Great comparison.. what about the heating issue faced by 6700 users ?
i have not had any problem with that, but I do live in a really cold place
What lens did you use with the a6700 for landscape photos?
Sony 16-55 2.8 👌🏻🤘🏻
Super explanation
Thank you 🙂
The footage tells the following story. I found a lovely swedish girl and had to move to Stockholm. But when i get a chance I go back to Iceland with my little family to see the lovely mountains and my redbearded brother. His name is probably Hurgafurirlurgur, or something very simular!?! Great comparison! Just what i needed.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fearfully opening this video after returning an A7iv brand new for the A7c ii but was considering the 6700
you'll enjoy the a7cii it's a sick camera! :)
I ENJOYED YOUR REVIEW AND PICKED UP THE A6700 FOR $1279 USD 🥳
which one is best for weddings sony 7c mark 2 or sony a6700 camera
There is no best. Both are great. Comes down to skill really. BUT if you like super slow mo shots the 6700 is better.
Great Video! Is it mandatory to have beard in Iceland? 😂. The A7CR could give you best of both worlds, even on apsc lenses with crop you still have 26mb files 😊
I didn't buy the A6700 to save money. I bought it to save weight and bulk, both on camera and lenses. Crop sensors are not objectively worse than full frame lenses, it depends what you want, and what lenses you buy.
agree to that!
What versatile lens is good for the a7cii !
Sony or sigma 24-70 f2.8 👌🏻
I have the A6700 but I'm thinking than the price and weight difference (body and lenses) between APS-C and Full Frame, Full frame doesn't worth it. I thinkFull Frame is irreplaceable if you want an ultra-ultra wide angle. With the Brighting star 9mm, you have the widest view that you can have on full frame without deformation. We need a 6mm 0-deformation on APS-C.
Hahah 6mm with a deformation would be sick hahaha 😂 but yea the a6700 is great 🤘🏻
I can't find any better reason than your accent to watch your vids
lol x)
Correction: A6700 in 4k 120fps video is giving additional 1.58 crop on top of 1.5 apsc crop. The 4k 120fps is not over or subsampled, it is just 1 to 1 readout from small part of the sensor. It is actually a great achievement as readout speed for 120fps video must be 8ms.
Ah thank you for the information ☺️ really appreciated!
I have the 6700, so I’m going to say that’s the best because my dumb ass didn’t investigate photography a little more before making the purchase. I saw what I had in my bank and said, yup 6700 it is! Mula play a big part in that.
Hahahah, but the a6700 is also great for photography :)
I noticed something. If I saw off the hump of my A7R3, the result will be a body very close to the same size of the A7CR/II. Getting rid of the hump makes a huge difference. Now, keep talking cameras and don't forget to show us some of your handiwork using product you are reviewing.
Is there anything you can say about a6700 overheating? That is the only reason stops me from buying it
yes, a6700 has overheating, and A7CII no. I will buy to Sony A7CII
Really wish they had put 2 card slots on the a6700 so it could be used professionally. They really missed a trick here.
That would have been really epic indeed
The APS-C camera has no OLPF (Sony specifications) and Sony is mystical about the OLPF in the case of the A7C II. The difference between OLPF or not can be dramatic and not only in gained sharpness due to its absence. Absence would give you more colour space, dynamic range, contrast envelope, contour sharpness, low light sensitivity, and probably less vignetting. But it complicates raw processing and with inadequate raw processing software you get a bit more Bayer noise in the darker image areas as well as the blurred areas. By the way, dynamic range would not follow from a processor but lives in the sensor to begin with. The sensor being analogue (and colour blind), somewhere the analogue exposure values are converted into digital and that - today likely - also happens in the sensor. Moore's Law. So, if the FF camera has an OLPF then you cannot draw any conclusion about the impact of the size. Image quality differences following from MP are generally marginal, but the impact of removing the OLPF is 'shocking'.
Too bad you can't test them in the cold weather. Great video, love your humor. Keep it up.
Glad you like them!
Thanks very much indeed Great super helpful video. Just trying to decide whether to upgrade my A6400 to an A6700 ? Umm 🤔
I did. Mainly for the video features. Auto focus, slog-3, 10 bit 422, and the 4k 120 is a huge jump from the 6400. And the 6700 has ibis.
Wondering if this is the upgrade for me too, I shoot clubs and beginning to get into concerts. Low light performance is important to me. Is the 6700 good enough or will it still lag far behind the A7 IV/ AC2 ?
@@Vic-cn4fe it’ll always lack behind full frame because aps-c just can’t absorb as much light per pixel. But if you have a wide aperture lens, 2.8 or wider, then it does very well in low light. I filled outside at night with just street lights and building signs and there was no noticeable noise.
As an amateur i fail to see the quality difference in the final result, might aswell go with the cheaper and smaller solution, but thats just me…a6600 + sigma trio and im set for good
Debating between a7c II or a7 IV I don’t care about cII only having one sd card slot. Which do you think would be best in the long run to grow into it (amateur skill right now) will use for photography and video
I'm in the exact same.boat right now. I'm leaning slightly towards the cii over the IV. I feel the little extra stabilization is not really a big difference but the new auto focus system is going to be a bigger difference for videos. Along with the smaller form factor. I'm debating getting a grip for the c ii if I feel I need it. Working at a camera shop right now so I use both of them daily and let me tell you, doesn't make the decision any easier xD
Again, for videos, the inferior evf won't really make a difference
Size matters!!! As a constant international traveler my sony a6700 with 3-4 lenses (all tiny apsc sized) all fit into a tiny sling bag that I can easily carry. My lenses give me a range from 10mm to 527mm (full frame equivalent). I also use an RX100 vii which is fantasticl in image quality (and this entire camera fits in the palm of my hand including the built-in zoom lens). For more rugged work I bring a Tough V which is waterproof. But ALL of these cameras are tiny. I just got back from a cruise to the antarctica and shot with guys with enormous full frame lenses. Of course the zoom ranges of full frame that extend beyond 527mm are going to give you better shots at a distance, but at an enormous cost of weight and size. Some of these lenses approach 3 feet :). Even the apsc camera is at times too big and in many countries travelers with obvious cameras will be robbed (no question). Size apparently matters enormously to all of us…what camera do you commonly take with you to parties, the city, etc.? Your cell phone! Or at most a tiny palm-sized camera. I don’t see people regularly walking around with big cameras! The camera that you use is the most useful camera you have :). I love your videos, but again, it is NOT the cost for me, but the quality and convenience of the smaller apsc camera and lens that appeals to me the most. :) :)
I wish a6400 had IBIS because I love AF but dont use gimbals or tripod
I really couldnt tell them apart, save from the shallow dof i wouldnt have known.
Iprefer right photo
Upgraded to the old(!) A7C and I'm loving it. Rocked APSC 8 years, and I msut say the difference is VAST. I was always convinced the difference is minimal and at the end of the day, a good photo is not determined by the sensor size. Still I made the jump out of curiosity, going into FF knowing full well that its not much different -> Just like your comparison pictures show, they are VERY similiar. -> I was very happy to find out, that the FF offers MUCH better image quality. I had the Sigma 1.4 primes on APSC and switched to cheaper Samyang 1.8 primes on FF and it is vastly sharper. I now understand when reviewers talk about "sharpest lens ever", cause now I can actually see differences in lenses. Added that the LOW LIGHT performance is much more than 1-stop which is always mentioned. ISO25600 looks better than ISO6400 on my A6000. This can't really be seen on a compressed KZhead video. That said, I think a lot of this also comes from newer sensor technology and not just APSC vs FF. Still, the a6400 had the very same IQ as the a6000. Didn't properly try the a6700 which now has BSI sensor, BUT had back to back test with it, which still looked the same. Add the fact that the a6700 actually costs 400 bucks more than an A7C. Also no weight/size advantage.
Yeah as much as I and everyone else roots for the differences to be minimal, I went from the a6600 to a7iv and the difference feels huge. I will say the extra battery life of the apsc is one advantage I really miss.
@@jumpmansz agree, while I still preach that APSC is more than enough, I now tell them that there is a noticable difference. Had the opposite experience with the battery, cause I came from the bad FW batteries to the FZ batteries
Great comparison and video as always my friend :) For "normies" the A6700 would be always the better choice I guess. Sure full frame gives you better low light performance and more bokeh, but normal people usually don't take a lot of pictures as soon the sun goes down. Most of them disapear behind some screens or settle down on a couch in front of a screen instead of taking pictures in the dark :D It's only camera nerds like us, who think they "need" full frame for xyz - and I fall victim to this myself :') APSc in general can rival full frame even in looks, if you have the correct lens (like f1.2 which would also be big). And people do find APSc might be enough, I mean look at Fujifilm sales :)
Thank you man ☺️ yea Fuji are selling tons of apsc, I even want one 😂 but yea most hobbiests will be good with Sony apsc imo too
even apsc f1.2 lenses are much smaller than full frame equivalents. fujifilm F1 lenses are about the same sizes as their full frame F1.4 equivalents. I think APSC can totally be a better choice for anyone looking to bring their cameras everywhere with them.
i am a wedding videographer and i sold my a7iii and bought a6700. was my decision right? can you make a comparison for a7iii and a6700? i cant find any comparison in the youtube
I don’t own the a7iii but the a6700 is a much better camera imo. You just loose the ff of course, and does the a7iii have 2 as card slots?
@@thaticelandicguy thank you so much sir 🙌I don't regret my decision anymore. The best combo for my a6700 is the viltrox 75mm f1.2 and 13mm f1.4. And waiting for the viltrox 27mm f 1.2 for sony e.😁 I don't often use the dual card slot in my workflow. and my concern is also the resolution/quality and the dynamic range of the a7iii and a6700 which one is better. My first problem with my a7iii is the auto focus, it's very slow and I don't know if the a7iii has 4k 10bit shooting, so I switched to the a6700. I don't have a budget for a7iv so I have no choice. Thank you🙌
had this argument for months.. went with the ac7ii..
It’s great ☺️
@@thaticelandicguy the dynamic range on this sensor is really impressive. Paired it up with sigma 24-70 art... that's a spicey meatball!! lol
Right is a7c ii and left is a6700
Which one do you prefer? 🤔
The A7CR given the choice. But lacking that it really depends. If the buyer owns no glass then the Cii, start in FF. If the owner owns crop glass just go for the 6700.
@@POVwithRC yea but the a6700 is a powerhouse imo, I really like it for filming and also for photography tbh
a6700. it got me back into photography and i freaking love everything about it. its so good. also the crop factor helps with wildlife ;)
For travel A6700 because I travel with a zoom, and the APSC zooms are smaller. For everything else A7C (mark one, I don't have the mark ii).
Yesterday just got the a6700 (upgrading from zve10) to make cooking videos and have fun with the 60fps and 120fps in 4k. Found your channel recently and just can not stop wachin your videos, such great quality!!!
I like your accent 😅 2:51
Thank you 😂🙏🏻
You should mention that the A7cii only has first curtain electronic shutter whereas the A6700 has a full mechanical shutter. That may make a difference in bokeh with long focal lenses at high aperture. At least the A7iv manual indicates that you should change the shutter mode in this case.
Ah I didn’t know that, thank you so much for the clarification ☺️ will add that in my next video. Working on a video about the a7cii can talk about it there
@@thaticelandicguy If you haven't noticed, it probably doesn't matter for your style of photography. It's more a sports photography thing.
no need to spend too much money to buy expensive camera.. try my way.. make sure shoot good , sharp photos... then use photoshop to edit photos... double layer ... increas size, 300dpi , then go to filter sharpen smart sharpen... now you will get double your resolution without spend money....
I can see a color difference
A6700 is 🔥 No, literally, it overheats like crazy trying to use video in any higher formats in regular conditions
Haven’t experienced that, but maybe because I’m living in a colder place
It's not an SD card failure I'm afraid of, it's losing a card. And it's happened to me. I was saved by the highest resolution jpgs in the 2nd slot.
offfff, still better than nothing to have best jpegs
It's weird that Sony is yet to hop in the OpenGate bandwagon. It makes repurposing so much more streamlined.
For most of us 6700 would be better.
It’s really good 😊
Like the both ....but body so small...
So, you lost both body caps
NO amateur on the whole world needs FullFrame - it's all about marketing!
🤣🤣🤣 Surely anyone can get whatever they want whether you think they need it or not…
100% A7cii Batter And Big sensor extra advantage 😍
Full frame>half frame always
If it is so then why are many of the best movies made shot on super 35 (apsc). The Irishman, lord of the rings, etc.. I love ff and apsc. It’s just a sensor size tbh.
fuji xt5 is better !!!
👀
Sony a1
Bs For the 700$ difference u can get a premium lens !...
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
🙌🏻
For casual just stick with phone instead of these so called compact brick that barely perform better with small zoom lense or limiting prime lense. For enthusiasts with too much money or hobbyist though, you can even buy both and lug those everywhere you go😅
Only bought FE lenses even though I had APS c camera so not a problem for me😅
😂😂😂 none of these
Sony A7CII is loads better than what is shown in the video. Im not sure how your image quality is worst than normal. I've seen so much better in other review comparisons.
Ok, I can see you have run out of things to say about cameras. Take a break, do some hiking, grab some great pictures to show us. I'm more interested in seeing many of your stills and videos of a land I may never see. I see a lot of brown dirt where I live, sometimes snow in the mountains and lots of traffic. Where you live and travel to is simply beautiful. As for cameras, just shoot and show off their capabilities through pictures. I'm getting really tired of one camera vs. another camera and leaving out the most important element, the photographer.
I understand where you’re coming from, I’ll incorporate more videos like that again here. Seeing that KZhead is my only job, then I rely on videos that I know will get views and these types of videos for better or worse, always perform.
Plus I like talking about cameras, and I just like to create and edit ☺️
But it’s not…
