i think theses ancient wither had a past where the nether is not really a nether like look at the warped forest and the crimson forest theses biomes basically gave away what the nether use to be a ancient overworld full of creatures like the wither

@@johnsolaas185 i completely agree! I think they are doing a great job at introducing lore to the game. This video is just an attempt to understand and explain an isolated and specific part of the lore that I personally thought was interesting.
Matpat did say that it was likely that the nether had an ice age because of the basalt, which forms from rapid cooling
but not only that what causes them to die off is they were not the skeleton like black wither the ancient big wither had flash and bones not like the wither we see today
