  • Anyone can be beaten in the street there is no rules. The fact that Michael jai white used the rationale of his size, and other factors to dismiss Bruce Lee. Clearly never read his jeet kun du book. Bruce Lee practiced the art of true combat. No rules. No style. Adaptation. He practiced eye gouge techniques, he studied the anatomy for the sheer purpose of inflicting brut force trauma to another person. Where to break knee caps, fish hooking, biting, he even trained his jaw to bite. He was freakishly strong for his size too. He trained for every possibility scenario. In his pursuit of ultimate victory in combat. It’s Ruthless. In fact one should always remain humble and put the 50/50 equality in regards to being asked such a question. You want to remain humble but also not arrogant or a coward and dictate in some way that you are so weak that you just cave to defeat. Martial arts is an art form, that has boundaries and limitations. What Bruce Lee was striving for was no limitations. He wasn’t training for sport. Belts don’t mean anything, other than maybe in the street you may just get strangled with it. Certificates can look nice on the mantle piece, trophies. But at the end of the day, they are just for decoration. Street fighting there is no rules no rules at all.

    @redmeth07@redmeth0719 күн бұрын
    • No rules doesn’t ignore basic biology, and the fact that superior physical strength with high skill, trumps high skill alone. Try sparring a decently skilled heavyweight, and you’ll realize just how screwed you’d be if you actually had to fight someone who is skilled, hit’s with the power of a semi-truck, and possibly has double your range. Trying to fight someone twice your size, who is competent and knows how to fight, is nine out of ten, going to end up with you getting your ass kicked, inside or outside the ring. They’ll utilize there better range and power to systematically wear you down and then put you into orbit.

    • @@MistaWordzapparently, you know little about fighting, specifically, the mindset and heart of a fighter, it’s a killer mindset. Money is not the center of a fighter’s motivation, the killer mindset not only believes he is the best, but will accept any challenge or create challenges to prove it. While others are incentivized by money, true fighters are incentivized by greatness, glory, obtaining legendary status. MJW did not compete in MMA because he wasn’t consumed with proving that he was the best. The risk was too great for him. And that’s ok. Sure, he’s a fighter, but he does not possess the killer mindset that separates the average and the elite. Wealth has ruined many professional fighters, they became less focused and lose their appetite for greatness and glory, instead they grew more cautious, civilized, and more concerned accumulating more wealth. So they end up wealthy, but forgotten historically. The best fighters (those with the killer mindset) make the necessary sacrifices, they want to be remembered and immortalized throughout the pages of history of their respective sport, and wealth is merely an outcome of their path to greatness.

  • What I think that makes Bruce Lee untouchable or unbeatable because of his intelligence ( in my opinion) Bruce's mind he could easily understand what move you gonna make he can read your move set and timing and he already knew about your attacks whether it's any kick or any punch and that sharp mind that understanding makes any fighter unbeatable

    @imserious4113@imserious411319 күн бұрын
    • I think that’s the key people are missing here. Size does not matter if you already know your opponents’ moves and are fast enough to counter them-no matter how big they are. We aren’t talking about wrestling or grappling, we’re talking about striking, punching, and maneuvering. Most people bigger than Bruce Lee would have had a jarring mental reaction to him stopping them mid-strike/punch/kick. After the first 5 stops, they would’ve fallen to their ego a bit…and when two pros are going at it, all you need is that little bit of edge and you win. So I definitely believe he could have won.

You folks do not understand the athleticism it takes for a man over 200 lbs to pull off the techniques he does with great technique and speed. Tyson is not a good example either. The level of skill is the most important thing, but if both are about equal in skill size could be a tie breaker. Also it matters more at extremes. a guy who is 4'11 and 102lbs vs a guy who is 6'6 and 270lbs it will matter. I mostly agree with this video that size is less relevant vs skill in boxing/hitting type contests but in wrestling situations raw strength and body mass is for sure a significant advantage.
