If I am not mistaken, Rybakina won Swiatek on clay in Rome 1000 and won the title.

Swiatek was in this tournament ue machine since the first match. She is far away from good form. Rybakina well deserved for this title
@@tiiw932her service game let her down again, it's still her Achilles heel, and can put her on the back foot. Rybakina seems to know how to hurt her better than just about everyone else. Swiatek finds it hard to control rallies against her because of Rybakina's power and because she's not giving her the angles she loves to utilise. Rybakina's weakness is her lack of athleticism, being somewhat predictable too (although she was far less so in this match), and mainly her massive inconsistency in her level. Despite the illnesses and injuries, she's usually her own worst enemy at times, but I swear, when that girl plays at her peak, she'll beat literally anyone, including Swiatek, and I don't think there's a player in the world at her peak. Her power game is so difficult to deal with, even for a player with court coverage and rally dominance like Swiatek. Unfortunately, Rybakina's peak isn't hit nearly often enough, especially at slams. I do hope she keeps it going though.

Rybakina has the most graceful "feminine" non-grunting but also a powerful game on tour which is absolutely amazing!
Two of the main reasons I like her, no obnoxious grunting and humble when she wins, no dramatic falls to the ground which I think are a cliche, especially on clay, like why would anyone dramatically fall to the ground on clay and get covered in it 😂 it's just for show. I like how cool she is when she wins, just another day at the office 😂
Clean demolition. Elena didn't spare Marta's game at all and ensured it never developed in this match
OK, if some on here think she is an extraordinary beauty but I think her demeanor, coolness, 'sportsmanship' and respectfulness are her real attributes.
And she is beautiful, along with a calm and peaceful demeanor while she crushes winners galore.

Unfortunately, it's not enough to be the best just for the first half of the year. To be No. 1, you have to be the best on the court all year long.
Rybakina proved the critics wrong. She CAN play on clay and tbh, I don't remember the last time I've seen someone this tall and slender move this well on clay. Well, I myself though she'd only make the semi's, tops.
Agree, she slides just fine, which is great considering her height. Cant wait to see how she's doing for the rest of the clay season

Almost everyone knows that Ryba can play on clay. And Sharapova, Muguruza, Ivanovic were all beautiful movers on clay, and equally tall and slender. And all 3 won RG.
Ivanovis, Muguruza and especially Dementieva, who was a great mover for any height.

@@brucevaccaro5081 We don’t know what would have happened if Rybakina didn’t get sick at RG last year and Rybakina is showing that she is even better on clay this year. If Muchova can get Iga down in the final of RG in the 3rd set then Rybakina can finish her off.

WHAT RYBAKINA DEMONSTRATED IN THIS TOURNAMENT IS THAT SHE CAN RUN AND CHASE ALL THE BALLS DESPITE HER HEIGHT. THAT WAS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE IN THE MATCH AGAINST SWIATEK.
And what you demonstrated is that your CAPS LOCK key is on.
She could defend even more if she used the one hand slice backhand. Interestingly she uses it regularly on the fh side.

Elena was poised and confident. She is remarkably efficient, and wastes little energy jumping around, fist pumping, vociferating, or displaying undue anger or discouragement. She makes hitting winners from the baseline look like strolling in the park.
Elena Rybakina is now the most popular tennis player in the world, also the most graceful, and on her way to becoming the world's number one ranked player. 🎾
The final was Rybakina x Iga could've been Rybakina x Sabalenka but I don't think any other would bring a different outcome. Marta is the quickest player on tour right now, that's her weapon she gets some impossible balls but it's like Rybakina 3 years ago with her service, only one weapon won't help you much, she has a lot of things to do with service, shots selection, return, consistency and mostly mental part to be always competitive against those powerful hitters not only once like she did before beating Rybakina herself.
I like how Rybakina make looping forehand on the defense to slow down play but they need more height and spin for the opponent to think twice about attacking.
I love this player, she is really intelligent, with fantastic shots full of technique and flexibility, she doesn't shout on every shot and doesn't brandish angry fists while screaming
Whoa, that scoreline does not do justice to the effort Marta put through the week... hope she can take the positives and keep building! Superb performance by Elena... she's improved her net game a lot and I definitely see her winning at least 1 of the remaining 3 Grand Slams this year! 🙂

The queen has finally done it. Marta won straight sets to reach the final while Rybakina had to fight for 3 sets but beautifully won the final by straight 2 set.

I hope Rybakina to prioritize her next tournaments, not to overplay but to peak at the French Open. Last year, she got sick at FO and had to withdraw in R3. This year, Rybakina got ill before Indian Wells and withdrew before the tournament, so she couldn't defend her 1000 points she earned last year as the IW champion. Pls, Rybakina, prioritize your trip and health, get the French Open champion this year, you have the game.

@@xirodspace It depends on what Rybakina shows up. If Rybakina is at her best she is unstoppable against absolutely anyone in the WTA on any surface, but if she isn’t playing well and Iga is then Iga is quite a bit better. Overall Iga is more consistent while Rybakina is throwing away way too many 2nd sets and making it harder on herself. In the next few years Rybakina should hammer out her inconsistency and win basically everything for years to come.
Rybakina power game has been too much for her opponents in this tournament. She still can improve various aspects of her game that would be scary for opponents. Wish she would be healthy all the year long.

Honestly people underestimate being number one, keep in mind this is a 500 event, Rybakina has been winning these but not the masters 1000s. also Rybakina doesnt have a record of year long consistency that Sabalenka and Iga have - those 2 bounce back and win slams as expected which Rybakina hasn't done.

Marta's fitness and resilience is insane right now, it has what is kept her going this whole tournament. Sadly she doesn't have real weapons outside that as exposed by Rybakina. She is also over woking with the 3 setters at AO and San Diego Marta kept getting dragged to three sets against players none slam winners, her matches this week should have been won in straights as Coco, Zheng, Laura dont have much form. Doubt she will have much energy for next weeks 100 event. Goodluck to her tho.
