NO WAR🙏
NO WAR indeed ... Thanks again , SLF'sssss ... Your diligence is appreciated ...
@@jesuslovesmebut8180 It's not politics , it's GENOCIDE ...
@@jesuslovesmebut8180 OK , comrade ... Ukrainian players have the right to do as they please ... As you have the right to not acknowledge the Russian genocide ... In my opinion Putin is a War Pig and all Russian players should be banned , so perhaps the Russian people can see the truth ...
@@jesuslovesmebut8180 Saying "no politics in sports" is like saying "no sports". You clearly don't know (or pretend not to) that sport (especially professional) exists because of politics! Yes, exactly that. Tennis isn't exception, quite contrary. Women had to fight for the right to participate in professional events.

Kasatkina is a nice person ❤
👍
Yeah she's one of the nicest people on tour for sure
nice person who gets the most out of not being able to serve.
She is the sweeeetest! ❤
All Russian and Belarusian tennis players are good people. They are not soldiers, they don´t killed anybody.
I honestly don't think it's my place to judge either side as I'm not Ukrainian or Russian or Belorussian; there could be plenty of circumstances behind the scenes that we simply aren't aware of or can't be made public. That said, Dasha Kasatkina always looks understanding and amicable no matter the outcome, so that's very pleasant.
Of course there is. Kasatkina completely supports Ukrainians not shaking her hand. Kasatkina is in a relationship with a woman.
The only circumstance is the Ukraine war. That’s it
@@hi-ls6ltThey had a trans identified male in their military until he got booted last week. Name one policy Russia has supporting gays. Not that trains have anything to do with homosexuals.

Not shaking hands with Kasatkina who IS ABSOLUTELY AGAINTS a war is the biggest shit
Ибо другого от этой швали ожидать не стоит
I think its more because Russian media tries to use those handshakes in their media to show "Ukrainian support for Russia". It's not really about the person and more about what's displayed in media that can be used by Russian national media.
But you can see that Ukrainian players respect her. If they shake her hand, this could put Kasaktina in a uncomfortable/dangerous position with Kremlin.
The ukranian federation just launched an investigation of a 16 year old tennisplayer who forgot she wasn’t supposed to shake hands with her Russian/ Belarusian opponent after a match at the juniors at the australian open this year. That is why they don’t shake hands.
@user-ei1hs7mn2f what a lie maaaan. Russians try every day to explain to Ukrainians that they're looking at them as slavic brothers. And every day they're trying to explain them stop listening the US british propaganda! US GB nazis, go home now!!!
Azarenka is a lovely lady and intelligent and respected the Ukranian by not laughing like Sabalenka did. Kasatina was also very respectful and understanding of the situation in the French Open.
no respect for ukrainians
Handshake has nothing to do with the war!
For Sabalenka, I think it was a nervous laugh. Being on center courts of every big tournament and having the audience booing (at the situation rather than at the player) is to be dealt with sensitivity. I sometimes laugh when I am uncomfortable.

Not shaking hands at a tennis match where many of the players make serious coin is totally ridiculous. This is almost as sad as the war itself.
You say that now but you wouldn't be saying that when your home country is invaded by another neighbouring country. You can't speak on their behalf.

It’s one thing to not shake hands at the net, it’s another to not even acknowledge your opponent when you come to shake the umpire’s hand.

If you cannot show basic sportsmanship than you shouldn’t be allowed to compete in the tournaments/slams💯
It would make more of a positive statement if the Ukrainians did shake hands with Russian / Belarusian opponents who have done nothing wrong.

Ukrainians are dying defending their country. I don't think I can shake hands with anyone from Russia if I were Ukrainian. If I shook hands with Russians, I would.be betraying those sacrificing... Think deeply before judging.
It’s virtue signaling. Shaking hands with them would make for a better message imo, one of unity and hope.
Do not shake hands with residents of a terrorist country. Hitler's athletes would not have been allowed into European countries at all.
definitely. She should go fight in her home country instead of bitching whereas she's making millions on the WTA Tour and posting bikini pics on IG.
I can’t really comment on the matter of shaking hands - I see where both sides are coming from on this issue. But Kostyuk expects far too much from the Russian and Belarusian players. She just doesn’t see the whole picture at all, thinking players should just denounce their whole country and put themselves at risk in speaking out. She is very childish.
Furthermore Kostyuk isnt living in Ukraine 😂😂😂
What would you tell Ukrainians who see Kostyuk supporting Sabalenka (who has been videod supporting Lukashenka)? A country which has supported and facilitated the r7pe and murder of her own countrymen, cohntrywomen and children.? That wouldn't look good on Marta. What would you have her do?
@dominikwalk980 Tak dobrze
100%
Well if Russian and Belarussian players don't denounce and oppose what's being done doesn't that make them just as bad? It's worse when people don't speak up. Just put yourself in her shoes.
I don’t get why the players don’t shake hands with Kasatkina, who clearly opposes Russia completely and has said she will never go back there because she doesn’t agree with anything they are doing.
In any case, this will create a precedent that Russian propaganda will use. As soon as Kasatkina changes citizenship, everyone will be only too happy to give her a hand.
Because the reaction of Ukrainian fans might be negative, some of them think that there are no good Russians at all. But I also think it would be nice if they decided to shake hands or not depending on the position of opponent, not nation. Kasatkina really deserves a big respect, it's really hard to speak against war being Russian, but she is brave enough to do this. And the opposite situation with Sabalenka, I think the worst person in tour, who supported Belarusian government during the protests in 2020, and now she is keeping silence about the war, even being sarcastic to Ukrainian opponents who don't want to shake her hands.

This is Ukrainian arrogance. If you care so much about your country, go and fight against Russia. Because they need more people there. In this kind of war, you need women and men. There are plenty of things women can do. However, Ukrainian tennis players chose not to go to war. They enjoy making millions, partying, travelling around the world, playing tennis. So shut up and do your job. We don’t watch tennis for politics. Ukrainian players should make up their mind. Kasatkina openly rejects the war, she is vocal Putin critics but her hand is not shaken. Azarenka has been living outside Belarus for. Ore than a decade, her hand is not shaken. So what do they want? Opposing or not opposing, their hands are not shaken.
Ukrainians have always been arrogant, they considered Russians to be second-class citizens. The state policy of Ukraine and the West is now such that Russians are fascists, and Ukrainians are a pure and kind nation. People believe in it, so there's nothing you can do about it.

These Russian and Belarusian players truly are super human to be able to go back in forth from the front lines to tennis tournaments multiple days a week 😂 Grow up. These players have absolutely no say in what their countries do just like the rest of us. Be a sportsman and shake their hand after a match smh
I don't understand why these Ukrainian players brought the war issue in tennis court. Belarusian and Russian players have never supported the war. Maybe they are quite about it because they know whatever they say, it would only create more issues. No one can please everybody. Not everyone can understand them. So they choose to keep quite. Less talk, less mistakes. What if these Ukrainian players have Russian or Belarusian partners? Will they loss respect to their partners too?

It's fine that Ukrainian players don't want to shake hands with Russians and Belarusians. I understand the reasoning and thinking behind it. What I don't respect is someone like Kostyuk who couldn't put that into words but instead invites hostility. I do see her point of view on no shaking hands, however, all it's doing is promoting hatred and judging someone based on somebody else's behavior. I wouldn't want someone to judge me or hate me just because I'm from the same country, religion, race, etc as someone who did/doing a bad thing. It just doesn't make sense.
Kostyuk should know that Belarussian players can face hard consequences on their family and friends if they openly criticize the war.
@@jesuslovesmebut8180what are you talking about which empathy to belarusian and russians while their friends, family is dying in Ukraine
Really? Means Kasatkina and Zvonareva have 0 relatives in Russia?
@@Lucian1692 I don't know as I'm not familiar with their family and friends but 1) maybe 2) we shouldn't force people to put their friends and family in danger, if you know the Russian and Belarussian power and their way of treating contradiction you'll understand why some tennis female players are reluctant to tell their opinion about the war openly.
@@romamiroshnichenko9957 There is no question of empathy dude, just basic common sense : Russian and Belarussian random people aren't responsible for the war and are suffering from some consequences too. In a war, everyone ends up suffering, except the people that decided it. You can't ask them to put their relatives in danger, especially when you know their speech won't have a big consequence on the war anyway.
