In times of war the poor and ordinary folks are always the first to die.
That is very true all citizens must contribute to victory. If not what of those who leave and don’t contribute, will they be allowed back when everything is done, that is very unfair.
It's impossible to bring them back but Ukraine could tax them. At least make them contribute with the money.

You have a good point but the people that left Ukraine to work in other countries like the man in the video was not under refugee status he just left to go and work and live abroad you see how sneaky that is. I totally agree but with Article 33 of the 1951 Refugee Convention, prohibits the return of refugees and asylum applicants to countries where they would risk persecution.

In Denmark, we are conscripting women as well. And in all honesty, it has had a very positive effect. Women do bring new perspectives to the table that help problem-solve in strategic and tactical situations. And to be clear, our conscription is quite different from the Ukrainian or Russian strategy of just getting any healthy person of age with two hands. Or even the American volunteer way of having recruiters be incentives to just get as many people to sign up as possible. A lot of people who are told to show up for conscription are outright denied if they show disinterest.
I think you will find many Ukrainian women joined up when Putin began his 'military operation'.

They do have conscripts, many of them, watch any interview with prisoners of war or watch any news, Russian included, they don't hide that mobilization is a thing. 3. Other nations can join as volunteers, so they technically get "conscripted"

In the US, men are subject to draft starting at age 18. Until last week, Ukrainian men were not subject to draft until age 27! Ukraine has now lowered it to 25, but that's still a full 7 years later than the US draft age. Why?!

Moreover, it is not doing anything for this even now, corruption, injustice and lawlessness have reached their peak during all the years of independence. You need to be more empathetic to these men. For one, many of them even if Ukraine existed would have absolutely no problem switching to an EU citizenship because of how poorly Ukraine is run. Whilst I do empathise with the Ukrainian men who escaped the war (I'd be terrified of fighting and dying myself), they really can't have their cake and eat it too. This really isn't fair on all the Ukrainian men and women who are also scared, but are actually fighting for the children of Ukraine (appears to be the main motivation from what I have seen). So stopping consular services is 100% the right thing to do, as it sends a clear message that able-bodied Ukrainian men won't be rewarded for running away. It's easy for me to say, but I don't see how they can sleep at night knowing they have abandoned the innocent children of Ukraine.

When they try to return they will face prison, and even when released they will face the shame of being cowards by their countrymen, because others died to save them. And those others include girls, women and men twice their age. And if, god forbid, Russia wins, the retribution by Russians will be extreme.

Maybe we have a bit much of patriotism around here but I think everyone should serve their country in some way or another while young. Either the military or some civil service. There's over 100000 healthy men aged between 18 and 40 that had payed bribes to leave Ukraine it is those that need to be sent back to be drafted. Over 9000 men live in Monaco they too should be sent back to do the draft . The MPs relatives they too should be called up along with the MP that's another 25000 and 45000 police along with 15000 traffic wardens and Zelensky will get his 250000 troops for the front the only thing that will drop will be corruption.

I can't tell the difference between Ukrainian language or Russian but lately I hear a lot of people speaking those languages while out in public in New Jersey. Go back and defend your country. Not everyone is on the front lines. It takes everyone to do other things that support the front lines. Manufacturing, mechanics, food, sappers, medics. No one is asking them to die! Only to serve. Yeah, there is a risk. I served in 4 Fing Wars and I made it home alive. 26 years I served. There lots of others who served with me that didn't die. Death happens in War. But the consequences of not going to serve mean many more will die because some was selfish and didn't do their part.
Zelensky walked away from a peace deal a year ago. The war could’ve already been over.

It's honestly insane to see so many people in the comments calling those Ukrainian men cowards, saying they have a duty to serve etc. Let's be clear: we have ZERO idea about the personal stories of those people, how and why they left, how they feel about the Ukrainian state, about fighting in a war, etc. It really sounds like some here view them as just a "human resource," a tool, a pile of nameless bodies, something totally abstract. Imagine a gay dude whose life was absolutely miserable in Ukraine, for example. It would be insane to tell him to go "fight for the children of Ukraine," as someone wrote here. And every refugee had their reasons. The authoritarian sentiment is strong in this comment section...

yeah. I have a Ukrainian friend and her father took his wife, his daughter, and son's family to Poland and supported them here, while his son went to war willingly. And now he will be potentially sent to war too, wtf? He's financially and emotionally supporting two families, and sacrificing his own son. Now son and father will both fight, while their families will barely scrape by. It'll be a desperate situation, but perhaps it mirrors the desperate situation on the front.
