He is struggling with 65 injuries, has never played with the same back four, and the fact that they still manage to progress, is in many ways a good result. He obviously does not want to play the way they do today, but discussing playing style, etc., when you are playing with third, fourth, and fifth choices, and players out of position, it is commendable that they are moving forward.

@leonhughes9014 and ofcourse with people like you there is no nuance, for example United have had 22 different back lines. It's a bloody miracle that United are doing as well as they are with the injuries they've had to key players and the piss poor effort from the likes of Rashford and Casemiro, who has been injured most of the season.
@@garethmccartan3636 all teams have injuries and united have the most expensive player by player team in the league, with often 300m + player value on the bench.. when you have old defenders and then choose to buy a 5"8 defender to play in the premiership and resign Johnny Evans and not invest then that on the manager.. And these defenders aren't ball playing defenders, yet gets rid of De gea once of the person performing players season after season to buy Onana who is a poor shot stopper, only average with his feet to play with defenders who can't play out from the back .. Thats on him. 2 years and the team performs worse than Ole's United... they have had the clearest path to the cup finals so dont even claim cup performances. Excuses only sound good tp these making them. The fact he can't drop Rashford must destroy the moral of young wingers and definatly put of potential signings when you could be sat on the bench behind week in week out poor players,
LFC fan here. Well done Ten Hag. Some sports journalists are childish, amateur and not important. Other journalists cover war zones and disaster areas and sometimes put their own lives at risk.

This is why Simon is my favorite football analyst. Journalists do not have a God-given right to get answers from anyone. And it’s disgraceful and unprofessional that a journalist would post on social media that a manager should be fired. It’s infinitely stupid and such a journalist should be banned for the rest of the season. The media are a total embarrassment. They’ve had it in for him since day one. They accuse him of lying and mock him for “lacking charisma” because he struggles with English language. MUFC should find a way to embarrass these lousy journalists. They and their newspapers are a disgrace.

Simon is right. ETH doesnt have to throw his team under the bus in front of the medial. For a fact i know that he try to adress the issues on the pitch with his players he doesn't have a dress it with the medial because really all the media wants are headlines to sale papers and boost rates and not really be part of the solution of improving United. Exactly this! The moment ETH says, yes it was embarrassing, or calls out a player - that becomes the headline. And the alternative where he doesn't is for us all to see.

I am annoyed with team and I am annoyed with myself because I am part of team.And we were lucky to go to penalties but we had to win penalties so its not embarrassing that we gone through to the finals...But ooh the ESPN pundits were like: why can't he come out and say we are lucky today, he is delusional, he is on his own island. I am like wait minute, the press I have watched he said all that but they chose to take statements out of context to drive their agenda. If I had not watched the full press conference and if i was not smart enough I would believe it. Many times ETH had come out after games saying that the performance or the way we conceded goals was not acceptable or the players needed to stick to game plan, or we lacked discipline, or we needed to take responsibility in those moments. These are his actual statements and all the main stream media are doing is to push their narrative that he just comes and says we are playing the best football in the world. He tries to balance the narrative in front of the media while promoting togetherness of team he knows its him and the team

It's not Ten Hag's job to provide truthful or insightful answers to the press, his job is to manage the United team. Part of that is protecting the team and himself from outside noise. It's obvious to anyone with half a brain or who isn't completely biased like Keown that all Ten Hag is doing is trying to defend the players from scrutiny as a means of keeping them on side. There have been plenty of times when he's criticised the performance of the team. He's just deciding this time it's better to circle the wagons rather than use the press to send messages.

Hello. Dunce on the left. Coventry has a fine record of late game winners this season. "Is he feeding lines?". Maybe if you did small research as a journalist. You'd have your answer. It's more about the condescending nature of these journalists to reduce Coventry efforts down to an embarrassment rather than a great show of resilience. Simon is 100% right. We watched some of these ex players criticize coaches then tried coaching and failed woefully. And now back to criticism. Like they didn't learn anything

Not just United but other team managers are never asked something like " with so and so players you are leaving some space in midfield or with a low block and high press there are spaces.. is that the way you planned it?
