Great to see Katie progress, such a nice player, a warm congratulations from Anastasia, who was very clearly disappointed with her performance.
She won 7 straight games. She was down 5-0 and AD-40 before turning on the jets. This currently ranks as the top comeback of the year. Ridiculous the highlights didn't show it. The third set should be uploaded; how she did it was pretty unreal.
What a sensational comeback by Katie Volynets. After losing 1st set and beind down 0:5 in the 3rd set to win the match with 5:7, 6:2 and 7:5. What a player Volynets is.
Rather I would say what a "player" Potapova is.

Great to see Potapova go. At times she was still grunting as the ball came back OVER the net, and on one point she waited to grunt until it landed. Delighted she's gone for this tournament.

@@matprotium1205 She notched up her ridiculous bellowing in the third set. Maybe she put so much effort there that she distracted herself instead of her opponent.
I'm not sorry to see her go. I lost £600 on her (Doh!). How did she throw that two break lead in the final set. She only needed to hold her serve and she would have won the match. That should have been money in the bank and a walk in the park. smh OMG! 😲

Funny to edit out Poutapova’s racket bash at the end. Thought she was showing signs of maturity and improved mental discipline lately, but… (though I can only watch her on mute).

I think she started to grunt out of exhaustion. It wasn't grunt really, but heavy breathing out of exhaustion. Volynets simply physically outlasted Potapova.

@@LobsterFromMars В этом нет ничего странного. Это совершенно нормально, что теннисисты теряют энергию, когда им нужно всего одно или несколько очков для победы в матче. Потапова действительно уступила Волынец.
Potapova has developed an atrocious grunt that must be painful for the spectators to endure. Great comeback by Volynets - can only be good experience for her progress.

Everything can be explained and that one is pretty simple Potapova missed every single shot after be broken first time in the 3rd set zero mental as usual Volynets whole job was put the ball in play.
Russian Potapova had a fan thrown out of a match in Cincinnati last August for wearing a Ukrainian flag. Always glad to see her lose.

I loved superb sportsmanship by Potapova. She always proves that she is incredibly nice tennis player. I also loved that speech by Volynets. She truly is incredibly nice tennis player. I love both of them so much as athletes.

Потапова просто "развалилась" при счете 5-1 и 30-0 в свою пользу. Это ничем не объяснимо. Волынец ничего особенного не сделала и не показала.
