    • Edward Ray Sheetz Definitely not true. His punching power is more than enough, like they explained with the shoe-tying analogy, he thought about it way more than he should have which limited his technique/power.

I remember that I was freaking out when I saw that fight because he didn't look at all like himself. I thought he had just gotten really slow after his retirement; turns out he wasn't trying because he wasn't concerned with Connor's punches. Like obviously not trying to be hit flush but just letting the punches hit his gloves.

Funny because these two are constantly bashing wrestling and how fake it is, but can't muster up a little common sense to know that Mayweather didnt give a shit about this fight. It was soap opera, a whole staged like thing. Mayweather could've ended it anytime, we all know it. Meanwhile Rogan and Schaub believe this was a display of Conor's talent. Not surprised given its Schaub, but Joe should be more honest with himself.

Conor gets some rounds in, I get my knockout, and the fans and everybody goes home happy not realizing Floyd just picked their pockets. Dude even in mma Conor only has 10 solid minutes in him before he’s bent over wheezing and by 15-20 he’s done. Floyd saw that. The tape doesn’t lie and Conor’s not gonna suddenly go from being a 2 round fighter to a 12 round fighter. The plan was foolproof. Floyd needed to carry him to legitimize the fight! It was a heist!

    • D core lol, okay man. I get it believe me. You’re just not seeing why I’m getting at. It’s okay man. I’m removing my comments from this so I do t have to keep responding to you. Yes he’s 40 and Connors 10 years younger, yes that means something.. A LITTLE SOMETHING, how many people has Floyd KO’d that are years younger than him? Do remind me. I bet Tyson could walk in that ring and STILL KO someone. I’m saying the age difference is t the ONLY thing that mattered. Just stop responding because you’re really not understanding that connors loss isn’t bad. He went 10 rounds with the greatest boxer in our generation. Atleast mine anyways, him being 40 is the LAST thing that matters in this loss. And yes Connor boxed, but he is an MMA fighter. A MIXED MARTIAL ARTS fighter. Meaning he’s trained to use hands knees feet elbows takedowns and multiple forms of martial arts. He had to forget all of that and ONLY use his hands. All in 3 months. Just stop dude. Yes he lost, but he went longer than anyone with the greatest BOXER alive. And that same would happen to Floyd if he stepped into connors ring and age is the LAST thing people would talk about when Floyd lost.

  • We all were thinking the same thing if Conor could keep his stamina then floyd made a huge miscalculation. Because even before the fight floyd said he would walk him down to make the fight exciting which only works if your planning on Conor to loose stamina and plan to knock him out in the later rounds. Floyd did something I never thought he would ever do he changed his fight style for the fans as if it was a WWE scripted fight which comes to show Conor is the only person floyd ever fought who he didn't take seriously one bit. I to this day think it was a reckless mistake but floyd is a master at his craft he knows boxing and new Conor 100% couldnt fight 12 rounds and obviously wasn't scared of Conor's power one bit.

    @d9637@d96374 жыл бұрын
    • It’s was calculated not a mistake. Pro boxers get tired after 9 rounds so Floyd knew Conor best chances was the first two rounds and after that his punches wouldn’t be impactful. When you understand the sport you can easily make these assumptions

  • How do these guys who commentate on fights and actually fight for a living not realize that Floyd just let Conor flail around and land soft ass punches to tire him out. Why do they keep bringing up that he scored so many hits, when it was clearly the strategy because they are ineffective. It's like they've never seen Floyd box before, he clearly was staying just cautious enough in the first rounds to let Conor flail around and tire himself out then had a field day with him. He could have gone defensive like he does against real boxers, but he knew Conor had nothing. When your entire reputation and 350 mil is on the line, you're not going to be 100% reckless but Floyd's smart enough to walk the line of letting Conor think he's doing something while he's actually not. It was entertaining because we got to see Floyd not give a shit and go offensive for a change, but saying stuff like "he got more hits than any other boxer" or "he went 10 rounds with him" like it's an accomplishment completely misunderstands Floyd's strategy. How the hell do these 2 not understand he was given those rounds? lol This fight was super one sided from the start.

McGregor blows because he has a high energy jerky style. He doesn't know how to economize. He doesn't know how to create space using his footwork so he can rest out of range. When he's out of range he's still got his hands held high, twitching and feinting. Floyd is the polar opposite with a highly economical style.

Even if somehow he magically had more endurance, he's just buying a little more time to keep trying to knock him out maybe the first 5 round instead of the first 3 which is what happened before getting gassed.

  • Before the fight Joe Rogan kept talking about how he wouldn't gas out because nobody has cardio like mma fighters. Wrong!! nothing like going 12 round 3 minute rounds moving throwing and taking punches with the elite boxers of the world, also while getting hit in the body. Everything they were bragging about was BS. Connor looked like shit and Floyd schooled him easy, and it was a 40 year old 2 year retired Floyd, who isn't even a big welterweight and has average punching power.

    • You're missing the point here. Everyone knows mcgregor would kill mayweather. Nobody cares if connor can kick floyds ass. They wanted to see how he would do against him in a boxing ring. He gassed out. That's what mayweather planned. It was an interesting fight to me really. It showed how boxing still has room to evolve. MMA is evolving constantly. It's a relatively new sport. Just stop being salty about the boxing match, it'll do nothing. If you're a UFC fan then just be looking forward to his next fight! He came out of the mayweather fight with much sharper boxing skills and nobody in the ufc can match them. I wanna see him KO woodley.

  • In this video Rogan is an apologist for McGregor's loss. "Short notice", Not enough time to prepare for Floyd Mayweather, Goes into boxing against the best ever. Bullshit to all that. McGregor said Floyd gets knocked out in 4 rounds or less. McGregor's biggest mistake was agreeing to the fight but he had all the info needed to make that decision. He agreed to the fight date. He's a big boy. McGregor literally got the snot knocked out of him because he completely underestimated Floyd's skill, speed, endurance, strength, tactics and strategy. Yeah he tagged Floyd once in an early round; so fucking what? Floyd lit his ass up. Floyd nailed McGregor at will for most of the fight. McGregor's poor endurance was only a small component of his failure. Yeah, he has the will and aggression of a seasoned fighter however, his skill set is all wrong. His neuromuscular inefficiencies were obvious. His strategy was based on flawed assumptions of his and Floyd's boxing ability. His short and long term tactics were too simplistic for a master like Mayweather. That lame-ass ref saved McGregor from a KO and denied Mayweather the satisfaction of standing over and looking down at McGregor's unconscious body. In this video Brendan Schaub sounds almost confused about what transpired in this fight. Did he even watch the whole thing or only biased highlights put together by some MMA/UFC youtube channel?

Conor was to inexperienced to know he didn't have to throw high volume to keep Floyd off of him. Floyd knew he would react that way. Floyd gave him 4 free roinds and he could do nothing with them. If you look deeper you'll see Conor got out classed.

Anyone that knows anything about fighting in general knew Conor could possibly survive but get severely outpointed by the best point puncher, defensive fighter in history. People that didn't even know who the two are were asking if I thought conor would KO floyd. I honestly feel Conors showing in boxing is significantly better than what floyd would do under MMA rules. Bottom line, it was about the payday. They both convinced people this was something to watch and set the average fan up through promotional genius

Mayweather went in the just covering up and letting his opponent throw all his punches and then he capitalized in the later rounds. Mayweather fought smart knowin mcgegror tires easy and he just waited him out. Hands down to the best boxer in the game. Always adjusts to his opponents style and wins the fight convincingly. Props to both fighters.
