After losing to Floyd Mayweather by 10th-round TKO in “The Money Fight” on August 26, 2017, Conor McGregor speaks with Brett Okamoto inside the locker room about his first professional boxing match. (:20) McGregor gives his thoughts of his early success in the fight and the style Mayweather brought that proved troublesome. (3:38) “The Notorious” explains why he wished the fight wasn’t stopped, comparing it to a time in his second fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 202. (6:43) McGregor tells Okamoto why he loves fighting and this bout was a “good knock.”

    • He's not. Hes just spouting lame excuses instead of saying the truth. Floyd had him from the start. Sure, Mcgregor can land some punches and he might have above average punching power...but those 2 traits are super common in the boxing game...then he had nothing and Floyd knew it.

    • What Conor does'nt understand is that Floyd did'nt fight him like he would have fought a Canelo, Manny, Sugar Shane, Juan Marquez etc because this was an exhibition and money grab!! If Floyd had really taken Conor seriously like he did professional boxers, Conor would have been obliterated in the first one to three rounds!! Floyd has never walked standing almost straight up with gloves against his head stalking his opponent. Conor is hilarious, he would destroy Floyd in the octagon no question but if Floyd took Conor seriously Conor would have wound up on the canvas! The ref had to stop the fight what is McGregor thinking?😂😂😂😂😂😂

If conor would have been beat for straight 10 rounds without punching floyd once then that would have been very sad lose and ebarrasement! I actually though this is wat would happend but i was very shocked by Conors performance and Floyd was aswell i dont think he was leting conor he really was confused at first then he changed his style and made hit harder for conor to do anything anymore

He finishes almost all of his fights. Normally that wouldn't be to abnormal for professional fighters, but combine that with his accuracy which is considered the best in MMA, his head movement which is also considered the best in MMA, and his speed. He accepted a boxing match, so he had to change his style for the fight. The beauty of the game of martial arts is that it isn’t binary, it isn’t like NFL, where if your not quick, and good at catching, that’s it your not elite. • You will never see a rematch with MMA rules and regulations because everyone knows including Floyd I bet how badly he would get hurt. Even with the same amount of time to train and adjust the result would be the same. The second Connor sends his bare shin to the side of his face, if he ain't knocked out then I bet he would be tapping. And tbh that would be the least of his worries, once Connor takes him down which he could do whenever he wanted it would also be over for Floyd as there are just way too many different levels to MMA which you just couldn't prepare for in that amount of time vs someone as talented as Mcgregor. I'm not even a fanboy I'm glad Floyd won the boxing match but that's just the truth when it comes to rematch inside the octagon.

    • What do you mean? He said he didn’t feel Floyd’s skill but described it in detail. His boxing skill and iq are tied into his composure. His ability to adjust during a fight is a testament to his skill. Floyd usually uses his footwork, makes the opponent chase him around, sometimes laying on the ropes while throwing his check left hook, establishing the jab, occasionally throwing combos. Floyd didn’t do any of that instead he stood in front of him throwing mostly the straight right then covering up. If McGregor had hurt him, Floyd would’ve held him like he held Mosley in their fight. He took the shot and kept throwing. There was a body shot I thought hurt him but he worked his way out of that situation too. They should both be happy. Nine figure pay day for both

Didn’t stick and move like he normally does. No check left hooks. Didn’t really establish his jab. Barely went to the body. No respect for McGregor’s boxing. McGregor just knows how to sell fights. Mayweather helped also by exaggerating Conor’s chances while downplaying his own. If he had smirked and said “come on only a handful of world class boxers were able to touch me let alone hurt me. I’m gonna carry him for about eight rounds then start bombing on him in the 9th” no one would’ve bought the ppv. He kept saying how he was old and he’s not the same fighter he was years ago. How McGregor was bigger and stronger. Lol he wore that ski mask for a reason. Popped up, robbed the public for $250 mil+, and got away. Brilliant by both men. Nine figure paydays for both.

Now as for MMA Conor is an incredible fighter ..Amazing to watch sometimes, proved himself too against high caliber opposition but don't talk all that crap you are boxing ,you bounce Floyds head of the canvas and say ''F*** the Mayweathers in front of the children and perform that rubbish afterwards ..At the end of the day ,it was not a total loss ..He made that 100mil and over the months he's made more on the back of that events exposure ...So its all good ...On to the next now its about Khabib fight ...SEEMED IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN..!!
