Black rhinos moved to new home by helicopter | WWF

A group of 19 critically endangered black rhinos have been moved from South Africa's Eastern Cape to a new range in the Limpopo province to encourage increased breeding and population growth. The location is the seventh new habitat established by the WWF's Black Rhino Range Expansion Project.

  • @TheMercilessEye it's big enough for a rhino,i live on the edge of the mississippi river,i do get deer,racoons,rabbits,wild turkeys,fox,eagles...can you house break a rhino?

  • This is better than some feeble "save the rhinos" campaign. Especially in corrupt South Africa maximum security reserves and a shoot on site policy for poachers is the only way to even make a dent in the problem.

  • is it dangerous do hang the Rhino foot so tight for to long? i think it was not the case..but can it happens that it leads to few blood stream into their feet ant cause problem?@WWF International

    • They don’t do it for an hour. Usually its dangerous for us for about 30-45 mins. For them it would be longer as they’re bigger and also the flight is about 15 mins.

  • after the increased population, a fragment could be returned to the original habitat, and increase there as well (: congrats, keep up with the results, beatifull let give a different future then the vietnam java had ;/

  • @bunnyfish714 Having a degree in zoology or a related scientific discipline would be a good start. After that, becoming involved with a conservation organization like the WWF depends largely on how much of a pest you make yourself at their offices... ; )
