    • Sometimes is better to keep cool instead of arguing but she was robbed of point. Lines person called out, the main ref overruled to be good. 1/ If there would be no challenge point is going to be replayed because Rybakina touched the ball. 2/ When Rybakina challenges and she was wrong; the point should go to Wang because in reality of rules she challenged the fact point is going to be replayed. Challenge is not working the way that in case you are wrong you can still get the same positive outcome like without challenge (replay the point in that case)

    • @@petrstanik7597 It's a tough one. I see your point of view, but Rybakina didn't actually stop the point to challenge, so would it not be unfair for her to have the point taken from her simply because of a linesperson's mistake and a challenge?

  • I know it might come across as unprofessional, but I like the way the umpire handled the situation in the Rybakina/Wang match. Loads of umpires are so adamant in their decisions, even though they themselves probably know they've messed up. There may have been some confusion, but this woman listened to the players and accepted that she'd made a mistake before making the correct call.

  • I think we can solve alot these replay issues on call challenges by a) having line judges wait until the ball is hit with the racquet before calling it out b) instructing players to hit it as if it is in until they hear out. This would at least remove the ambiguity about whether or not the call affected the shot.
