yes it was. not suspicious at all. Just fair play although she could have demanded that the umpire let her challenge. I really don't agree with umpires who are so pig headed like this dumb bitch - you've got 3 challenges, bloody fucken let them challenge when they want. If they are wrong, then they lose the challenge. it's just common sense. Why not use the technology available to find out the exact truth. It's beyond me. Umpire head too pig and wants to be in control. stupid slut

Sakkari has such poor sportsmanship. This is the second time she's cheated Pliskova out of a point. Everyone who has ever held a racket knows that there is no way a ball can hit the frame without you knowing about it. Sakkari 100% knew that was a touch and Pliskova should have won the point. So poor. At least we have Olmos and a few others who don't behave like this.

In part, it's because the replay rules of tennis suck ass. They have high speed cameras and audio replay. Everything should be challenegable.

Never liked Sakkari, she's been involved in far too many situations where she never ever owns up to the truth. Hope people stop giving her a free pass because at least once a tournament she lies to referees.
Omg I felt Van der Hoek when she said she hates tennis. Can you imagine putting tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars into a sport and struggling to even win a match that would pay you $500? Hurts to think about.

No, it’s “There looked (to be) a deviation,” not they are or they’re or their. It’s just a shorthand way of saying “There looked to be a deviation,” which isn’t all that British. There is/There are/there looked to be is used commonly in both American and British English.

"Too slow to challenge" to me is an excuse. What is slow? Some umpires are meticulous but some are just looking everywhere else.

the swiatek one was so blown out of porportion on the internet, she was late by 15 secs and everyone was shitting themselves over it, like clearly it didnt affect barbora's game and she still won
Im guessing because it's happened a few times they felt best to give the warning. Barbora was too good during that tournament, nothing could've stopped her.
I thought she had 15 seconds and arrived 22 seconds, being 7 seconds late. But apparently she has a habit of doing it.

McNally trying to get a default win when she was in a good position to win anyway. Don't you want to beat the higher ranked opponent rather than get handed the win on a default because the racket may have brushed the lines-person's foot? Shameful and embarrassing.
I don't think she was trying to get a default. I think she was questioning the application of the rule, and had every right to. If a thrown racket in any way touches an official (or imo even if someone successfully jumps out of the way of a thrown racket) then a default should happen. Every time, no questions. I don't understand why umpires let the players throw rackets in the direction of other people on the court and barely do anything about it. They act like big babies, and it's not a good look for the sport.
@@freakytea2815 Questioning the application of the rule is still trying to get a default essentially. She knows the rule and she wants it enforced in order to get a default. Either way, it doesn't sit well with me. I don't agree that players should get defaulted for throwing a racket. Sport is about emotion, positive and negative. Yeah players can be brats and I'm not a fan of it, but I don't think they should get defaulted for throwing a racket or brushing a line person's foot. There should be more lenient punishments before getting defaulted, like a game penalty to begin. We don't want games to end for brushing someone's foot with a racket, sure if they hurt the person or hit them with a ball etc then that's a default.
I agree, she can ask but better she stays out of it, its between the umpire and the player and that incident has nothing to do with her until she does it herself, then she can ask about the application of the rule
