  • 20% and no structure has yet been built in the Line? Seems right lol

    • Same thinking here. I am making the next video on why it will fail massiveky and could prove fatal for Saudi Arabia. Do watch that video too

    • @@epicinvent It seems that it's setting itself up to be the biggest real estate development failure of all time, making the World Islands in Dubai seem small by comparison. Honestly, I like outside the box thinking and would be cool to see it succeed, but it's just hard to imagine 9 million people living inside this walled linear city. Look at the first ever built "thin" skyscrapers in NYC on Billionaires Row. At least one, is having unforeseen issues with plumbing and other things from the movement of the building. Multiply those unforeseen issues X 100 or 1,000 on the Line. I'm sure some of those areas will be built and can maybe be successful, but that whole project keeps growing. I can't imagine there are that many rich people in the world who are going to buy places at these isolated resorts. The Palms in Dubai started 20 years ago and still isn't fully developed. It's been a slow go. Having run construction companies, I'd surmise The Line is maybe 2% complete? Maybe they've run some electrical and water lines but there is no evidence of this visually. Houses for construction workers don't really count for infrastructure.

    • @michaelmiller6878 I think you're both wrong. When the prince MBS sets his mind on something, it gets accomplished. Especially when you're building something from the ground up in the desert. Patience is key but that's a guarantee. It's easy to criticize something when you're not hands-on doing it yourself. That's the easy cop out way to doing something. And when it does get built, just remember to keep quiet. Saudi arabia won the bid to host the 2030 expo and won the bid for the world cup soccer in 2034. 😉👍

    • @@epicinvent Why are you making this apologist puff piece to begin with? I don't think you are going to expose any massive failing anytime soon.

  • This isn't much of an update. To understand the progress on a project, people need to see time-lapse videos of sites, satellite imagery showing development of individual sites over time, and a few interviews with actual project managers, not design front men. So as of now, I'm looking forward to an actual update, with a lot less rhetoric, and a lot more relevant information - please.

    • The latest update is that the Line will have only 2.8 km at 2030. It means a 98% reduction in scale. Though they said that they now do it in phases, I say that they abandon the project. Saudi abandons mega projects like throwing trash. They will never admit cancellation of project. It is about face.

  • And how much disruption to the local wildlife do you think a 100 km long wall/city will cause.
