What to Expect with Toyota's NEW Hybrid Land Cruiser 250! (1958 + Land Cruiser First Drive)
In today's video, I test drive (for my first time) the all new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser! So stoked the nameplate makes a return here to the states, and I'm even more stoked after driving one. A lot has changed--it's a hybrid turbo 4-cylinder full-time 4WD SUV now, but what hasn't is the fact that it's a very solid vehicle! Check out the whole video to see why I think so 😊

there is another very cool feature that comes with toyota hybrid tech, its the ability to super efficiently camp at night with the AC while barely using any fuel, people have been camping in prius, rav4 and even sienna for years now, not having to use diesel or gas heater is a huge plus.
tks i didnt know this useful info to aid my decision making
This is a really important point for those that will take this skiing. I had heard you could do this with electric vehicles but didn’t realize it was an option with hybrid. Thanks!
Andre TFL is everywhere lol
GREAT video, Chloe!! Keep 'em coming. THANKS
Thank you for your content!😊
Another great video. Thanks. Team Round.
Great video thank you Chloe!😊
Everyone compalins about 4 cylinder turbo charged hybrid- it will be fine. Think about this- F1 races with a 6 cylinder turbo hybrid
Well there is a whole team of mechanics that baby those, and this is supposed to be an off-road away from the garage platform that doesn't need the typical maintenance of even a Tacoma. I think it's a great car, but a huge departure from what "Land Cruisers" should be.
True. That said, I think people will have more confidence if it proves itself through water crossings. Many adventure tracks in Australia involve water crossings, and many water crossings are in remote locations.
That’s a horrible example most race car engines are rebuilt after a single race
Correct, but it doesn’t last 250K to 300K real world miles
@@CraigBarron-qx9bqgonna be disappointed not a sealed system
Bringing back the Landcruiser ✌✌
So fun Chloe!! It was a pleasure! Can’t wait to see that new 250 in your driveway 🥇
Great video 👏
Folks forget there are more trims avalible overseas since traditionallly Landcruiser is in very low demand in the USA
For me, I've removed myself from the Sequoia and LandCruiser waiting lists, but on the GX550 and '25 4Runner waiting lists. Mainly, it's just personal preference or styling issues. As asked, I like the rectangular LandCruiser headlights over the round ones.
I would take the LC:LC so I'm team rectangle headlights. Seems like that blank module would be pretty easy to remove. Can't wait for what the aftermarket will put in it's place, like maybe some headlight washers.
that side by side comparo was sweet!
I like the retro look myself. Nice that you were able to test drive a couple different models for side by side comparison. 👏
Good video..keep it coming ...ok honestly MTM is not necessary ..more electrical switches to break 1958 is bare-bones enough..reference to LC-LC basically the answer is buy it if you think you need it
It would be so cool if you got one of these for a long term review
The trim level I would still pick is my LC200😊 Still great review though. I know the Prado will still hold the Toyota line.
I think both headlights look great. They knocked it out of the park with styling.
Did the parking sensors turn off when using 4lo or using MTS in the Landcruiser trim? And the volume button on the Landcruiser grade is only in that weird spot for the NA market. Other markets have it in a MUCH better location.
Thanks for testing the 1958 specially on white, if I had the money that exactly what I would get.
1958 in black!
It'll be great if the hybrid proves itself through repeated water crossings, and/or through mud over a period of time. Many adventure tracks in Australia involve water crossings and/or mud, and many water crossings are in remote locations.
Are the iMAX Tacoma drives still under embargo?
I wonder how well it will fit and do with 35s with the proper lift.
you and that team4runner guy in your passenger made for a good duo.
Hey Chloe Kuo how was it for new 2024 land cruiser how about gas mileage? thanks!
Did you notice the difference in the smaller tires on the 58 and the LC?
If I could I would buy the First edition. Not just the round headlights, but also all other extras that come with it. I think First edition is the full LC experience.
They have the volume nab in middle for the European models next to view camera buttons. I do not know whey put it there for USA vehicles.
What's the low crawl ratio on it?
Rectangular… I like the overall boxy look. My baseline would be the softex interior to make it easy for pet hair.
do a review on the tacoma trail hunter or 4runner trail hunter. or both. 👍👍👍. have a good day boss.
No MTS and no sway bar disconnect because if you lift or change tire height and diameter and width, with the sway bar it’s now “complicated” any work you do. And with the MTS the algorithms likely won’t like massive changes to the vehicle height and change of tire size and weight. Thats why I ordered a black 1958. The colour choice sucks though…..
1st! Heck ya, the new LC is legit!
Hello! If it is alright to ask, isn't the Landcruiser the same thing mechanically as the new 4runner?
Yep. A fully loaded 4runner TRD pro will prob top out just about where the 1958 starts and you get bigger tires (A/T not these crappy all seasons), a lot more fancy suspension, better interior and you can put down the window on the rear hatch.
I never realized how big Andre is until seeing him next to you 😂
Thinking a 6th gen 4Runner SR5 4x4 will be true barebone and cost less. Not everyone needs full-time 4wd.
Windows frame is not black any more?
If I were on the market I’ll go for a bare bones 1958 Or a basic 6g4r bare bones with a rear locker.
So ....a 4-runner on order?
Excuse me what did you pre-order? I must know!!!! 😢
There’s no mts or disconnecting sway bar in the 1958 because it would cross the $60k mark.
Its a 1958 for me!!
If you could would you buy the 2025 4runner or the Land Cruiser?
would never take a hybrid off road to many what ifs
Can you disclose this location for us in the future?
Same question; where was this? It looks to be California, but what county at least? Is the area open to the public?
@@LL1684L2 it’s San Diego but I want to know more specifically
What king of shoes do you wear ?
What’s the difference between trd pro vs trail hunter?
Good Question
All that information is on the Toyota site. For the Tacoma
Suspension, rock sliders, and bed rack, and air compressor for the TH. Oh and that air suspension seat i think is only for the Pro but I hope not.
@@MoY206 is the suspension better or different? Not sure if fox can do what old man emu can and viceversa
Not sure, neither has been out and if it was, that's something you would have to consider for your needs.@@Kobemamba2357
It is grammatically incorrect to state that something is "very legendary" because when something is legendary it is remarkable enough to be famous or very well known. There can be no less legendary or more legendary classifications of people or things. It is either legendary or not legendary.
Haha what
Of course 😂
👊👍
No panoramic moon roof, does only the Lexus GX550 get all the goodies..
Nice tires on that Prado, pls don't ruin the land cruiser name
Team 4runner
Your older Land Cuiser from the outside looks better.
Meh… me too!!!! 4 cylinder!?! I was previously interested…not so much any more. Thank you Chloe for the video!!!! Love geeking out with others too!!!❤
It is more an FJ replacement than a Land Cruiser.
Forget these. Get your hands on the 70* variant. At least that's a diesel.
These things start at over $55,000.
1958.All the way...
Easily $60,000 out the door for base trim before dealer adjustments, for a miserable four cylinder turbo hybrid, and this chik is excited. Some people are pleased easily.
the drum song in the background at 15:24 is the same as the porn hub intro....
Mid grade is just “Land Cruiser”. Not “Land Cruiser Land Cruiser”.
Yuck V4 turbo. More stuff to maintenance
sooo much plastic on the front end
For 56k you get a pile of cheap plastic. They really are doing it on purpose to get you to buy the mid level
Or get a maxed out 4Runner
Nah that thing looks disgusting
You should stop trying to sell toyotas and sell Chrysler instead 😂
L😂L The joke of the century 🤣
That is the ugliest vehicle. So gross!
Meh…you lost me at 4 cylinder 😢
I hear dat....I was excited to jump in the lake till I hit that ice water. Things shrunk up quickly 😮
times are changing lol!!! but im sure toyota is going to offer a detuned v6 turbo the next year for those who wants more performance i guess!
It’s the law
@@alanmay7929they already offer a V6TT, but it’s sold as the Lexus GX. Doubt the landcruiser will get that motor.
My ‘86 4Runner had the bulletproof 22RE, you weren’t going to tow much, you certainly weren’t going to win a race, but with 33” tires and a 4” lift I still got 32mpg. In 2wd. 4 high, 23 and 4 low 13. Out would go anywhere and take whatever I threw at it. My 2nd Gen Tacoma with the 4.0 V6 only gets 15 mpg in 2WD. Great truck though, still. I don’t knock the 4 Cylinders.
I could not not stand her in this video. Fake positivity fit for Toyota PR.
